Sorting Ceremony
I am Padme Lightwood. I was always afraid of sorting as I might not be suitable for any of the houses, but then after sorting I got into Gryffindor. Yay, I guess. A few of the first years next to me started bullying me about my appearance. But I ignored them even though I was really hurt on the inside. When I heard my name being read, I felt like my name had been called loudest yet. My stomach was full of butterflies. My palms started to get sweaty, I felt dizzy. My eyes were drowsy. I felt like I was about to be sick, And then all the kids on all the tables started waving, smiling, and clapping for me. I felt that if I get chosen for one of the houses, the rest of the tables will be disappointed. I felt my head saying " Oh, thanks a lot Padme. Now we can add this as another item to our worries." I felt ashamed of my behavior so I told myself " deep breath Padme, stop acting like a baby. Get a grip.". I went and sat on the cold, metal, stool. Wondering, what house would I be sorted in. The sorting hat was confused, whether to put me Ravenclaw, Slytherin , Hufflepuff , or Gryffindor. At the end I was a hatstall, at least that's what my mum had told me " If a wizard can't be sorted under five minutes, he is called a hatstall." after 5.3 minutes the sorting hat had to decide where to put me between Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. The sorting hat chose Gryffindor in the end. I went and sat down on my house table feeling happy and queasy at the same time. But that's when the shaking hands, patting your back and clapping and introductions started…

Sorting Ceremony
Finally, the ride was over. Gabe and the other Hogwarts students had been on the Hogwarts Express for hours, and while the experience was fun, the hours dragged on. After a couple minutes of first years "aww"ing and "ooo"ing at the castle, they were escorted inside. They were told to wait outside the Great Hall for a moment to wait until they were ready to begin the sorting. Gabe was nervous, but not as nervous as a lot of other first years. He was quite excited. A girl came up to him asking how the sorting went, hadn't anyone in her family told her? Well, there was a possibility she was muggle born, or her family wanted to keep it a surprise. Gabriel jumped on the opportunity. "My mom told me all about it, she's the best witch. They require you to do a random spell and based on how well you do it, you get sorted... I heard if you can't do the spell, you get kicked out." The Great Hall doors flung open, and Gabe snorted quietly as the girl's face turned pale. They were led in a neat line towards the sorting hat. The hat began its yearly song while Gabe peered around the hall. Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, which one would he get into? He had considered this; he wouldn't mind any of them.
"Gabrel Palmer" He heard his name. He must've zoned out the rest of the people being sorted. He smiled big as he walked towards the stool. Despite his confident look, his stomach felt like it was knotting itself over and over. Gabe sat on the stool and the hat was placed on top of his head. The hat took a couple minutes debating what house he belonged to before it finally reached its decision. "Ah yes, it is obvious where you go young Palmer..." "GRYFFINDOR" it roared. Cheers and applauding bursted through the hall as Gabe leaped down, his stomach releasing a bit of the tension. He looked at the table and saw the girl he scared also was sorted into Gryffindor. He was planning on apologizing for scaring her, but she was already laughing and having fun.
He walked towards the Gryffindor table and sat down next to a gangly boy with long hair. He smiled at him and reached out his hand. " Gabriel Palmer! Pleased to meet you." He could not help but notice the boy did not seem to be enjoying the sorting. Gabe hoped to change that for him.
