Edward had just arrived in class -late to be honest. The girl had met him at the library. He was cute, kind and charming, as expected to a Hufflepuff. "Hey Hannah!" He said quietly to her as to not disrupt the class. "Hey Edward! Where were you? You're about twelve minutes late!" her tone was still soft, but not as soft as the one that she had used to say "Hi!", still quiet not wanting to to get caught. She didn't want to scream at the boy, after all, he was her date to the fall ball! "Sorry for that!" "I get a bit nervous when people are late.." "What did I miss?" he asked softly. His voice was cute, just as the words floated from his mouth into Hannah's ears. Moments before, it had been announced that the person that sat next to you would be your partner as you create one of the following potions, cure for boils, herbicide potion, and Forgetfulness potions. "So, anyways, the professor told us that the person that sat next to us would be our partner in a creation of one of the tree potions: cure for boils, an herbicide potion, or a Forgetfulness potion." She looked at the papers in her table. One, the recipe for a Forgetfulness potion:

Forgetfulness Potion

Part 1

1. Add 2 drops of Lethe River Water to your cauldron
2. Gently heat for 20 seconds
3. Add 2 Valerian sprigs to your cauldron
4. Stir 3 times, clockwise
5. Wave your wand
6. Leave to brew and return in 45-60 minutes.

Part 2

1. Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to the mortar
2. Add 4 mistletoe berries to the mortar
3. Crush into a medium-fine powder using the pestle
4. Add 2 pinches of the crushed mixture to your cauldron
5. Stir 5 times, anti-clockwise
6. Wave your wand to complete the potion.

The other was for Cure for Boils:

Cure for Boils

Part 1

1. Add 6 snake fangs to the mortar.
2. Crush into a fine powder using the pestle.
3. Add 4 measures of the crushed fangs to your cauldron.
4. Heat the mixture to 250 for 10 seconds.
5. Wave your wand.
6. Leave to brew and return in 33-45 minutes.

Part 2

1. Add 4 horned slugs to your cauldron.
2. Take the cauldron off the fire before adding the next ingredient.
3. Add 2 porcupine quills to your cauldron.
4. Stir 5 times, clockwise.
5. Wave your wand to complete the potion

And the last one was an herbicide potion:

Herbicide Potion

Part 1

1. Add 4 lionfish spines to the mortar
2. Crush into a rough powder using the pestle
3. Add 2 measurements of Standard Ingredient to the mortar
4. Crush into a rough powder
5. Add 3 measures of the crushed mixture to your cauldron
6. Wave your wand
7. Leave to brew and return in 45/51/60 minutes (depending on your cauldron)

Part 2

1. Add 2 measures of Horklump juice to your cauldron
2. Heat to a medium temperature for 10 seconds
3. Add 2 blobs of Flobberworm Mucus to your cauldron while it is still on the heat
4. Stir 4 times, clockwise
5. Wave your wand to complete the potion

Edward looked over at the student that sat next to him, it was Hannah Blossom! They had met at the library and agreed to be each other's date to the fall ball! If Edward was completely honest he found the Griffin-for quite cute. Edward grinned largely at her revealing the small gap between his two large front teeth, strange yet charming. She looked the same as he last saw her, she had pale skin, freckles that were placed perfectly on the bridge of her nose, long straight scarlet hair, and large icy eyes.
"Hey Hannah!" He said quietly to her as to not disrupt the class.
He hadn't known that moments before it had been announced that the person that sat next to you would be your partner as you create one of the following potions, cure for boils, herbicide potion, and Forgetfulness potions.
"Hey Edward! Where were you? You're about twelve minutes late!" Hannah scolded him, Edward laughed a little.
"Sorry! I completely forgot about potions class!"
"Sorry for that! I get a bit nervous when people are late.."
Edward shook his head letting her know she didn't need to apologize at all for what she did, Edward found it a little funny actually.
"What did I miss?" He asked Hannah softly, looking at the girl curiously.
"So, anyways, the professor told us that the person that sat next to us would be our partner in a creation of one of the tree potions: cure for boils, an herbicide potion, or a Forgetfulness potion."
Edward craned his neck a little as to see the papers that held all the information they needed to know about the three potions. It wasn't hard due to the fact that Edward was a good amount taller than the Hannah, but it turned to not be needed as Hannah passed the recipes to Edward so he could see.
"Thanks..." He said quietly reviewing them.
"Which one do you think we should pick?" Hannah asked, but before Edward could reply the professor spoke up, grabbing both of their attentions.
"Remember, for the Cure for Boils potion, there are two recipes, one in the 'Book of Potions', and the other in 'Magical Drafts and Potions'. Today, we will use the 'Magical Drafts and Potions' recipe...."
Edward looked back at Hannah after the teacher had finished what he had said.
"What about Forgetfulness potion?" Edward suggested, he had thought that it sounded cool and the most intriguing. "It sounds Groovy!"
He awaited to see her feedback. He looked about the class, everyone was talking quietly, scribbling and preparing for their potions. Edward immediately got to work on reading the recipe making sure they had all the following ingredients. Edward liked to think of potions like a mix between baking and science, which the two were not far off from one another! Back at home he loved cooking with his mother when he could, which was usually around the holidays, his favorite thing to make with her was gingerbread. The gingerbread recipe he had used was one passed down from his mother's side of the family for generations. Edward found it a little odd how much passed down things they had but He knew little to nothing about his family! Though Edward was curious He didn't pry. He loved the warn spices and the serene and kind atmosphere. Edward loved winter, but yet he loved every season due to what each and every one could bring to them. He looked at the standard black cauldron they were going to be cooking up some magic!

She knew he would say yes, because, well it was a part of the class, so, she grabbed her wand and put it on the side, the girl would need that for later. Edward found it a little odd how much passed down things they had but He knew little to nothing about his family! Though Edward was curious He didn't pry. He loved the warn spices and the serene and kind atmosphere. Edward loved winter, but yet he loved every season due to what each and every one could bring to them. He looked at the standard black cauldron they were going to be cooking up some magic! Edward was pulled back to reality by his potions partner's response.
"Okay, sounds like a good idea," the scarlet haired girl quietly spoke. "I'll go grab the ingredients that we need."
"Okay," Edward responded with a small smile. "I'll prepare everything here."
Remembering what he had learned earlier in potions, he made sure that the cauldron was free of abnormalites and was free of any filth. Ha! that sounded a little funny, Edward laughed quietly to himself. He then made sure that all the tools they needed were all accounted for, check! He smiled to himself, he placed his cherry wood wand behind his ear for safekeeping as he awaited for his potion's partner to come back. Edward grinned when she arrived with all the following ingredients Lethe River Water, Valerian sprigs, and Mistletoe berries. As she seated herself down Edward unconsciously fiddled around with his fingers awaitng the next steps.
"Should we get started?" Hannah smiled acting as if the had a choice, if they wanted to get an O then hell yeah!
"Hell yeah!" He said quietly as to not disrupt the class. Edward referred to the instructions for the following steps. The first thing they needed to do was to add two drops of Lethe River Water.
"Do you want to start adding the Lethe River Water Edward?" Hannah daid looking towards Edward.
Edward nodded compliantly following the gryffin for's instructions. He carefully added two drops of Lethe of river water. They then let of gently heat for 20 seconds as instructed.
"Next two Valerian sprigs, you can do this one," Edward said kindly, he didn't want to overtake the entire operation. Edward valued and absolutely loved cooperation and teamwork, it was always better, in his opinion, to do it with someone. It was like sharing a cake, everyone got some and you were happy because you brought smiles and it just feels better than eating the whole cake yourself.

The girl added two Valerian Sprigs, precisely, and carefully looked at the recipe, they needed to stir three times, clockwise. "You can do that, then we'll use our wands." she smiled, then the girl put her wand to the side, she remembered being back at the shop.

Potions… well potions was one of the classes that Hannah wasn’t sure if she liked, and not sure if she hated. It was somewhat fun, somewhat boring? That wasn’t the right word, but she simply had to take the lesson, she was a first year after all.

She looked back at Edward, his brown eyes… the way that he did things so precisely… it was that! That was why Hannah liked him, that was just why.

"Next two Valerian sprigs, you can do this one," Edward said kindly, he didn't want to overtake the entire operation. The freckled girl nodded sweetly adding the two valerian sprigs, which were known to have the effects of headaches, dizziness, pruritus, and gastrointestinal disturbances. It made good sense why the this particular ingredient gound itself on the forgetfulness potion recipe. The next step on the page safe to stir three time clockwise, before Edward could speak Hannah spoke up,
"You can do that, then we'll use our wands," She smiled sweetly, Edward smiled back nodding turning the potion, clockwise three times. It turned clear. Edward smiled glad he didn't ruin it with his clumsiness. Edward grabbed his wand that he had placed behind his ear earlier on for safekeeping. Both waving their wands they left it too brew for allotted time of 45/51/60 minutes. That means they had time to talk in between, well lots of time.
"So," Edward smiled stupidly, before changing his voice to make a perfect New York accent. "Do ya come her often?"
He revealed the gap in between his two front big teeth trying to stifle his laugh, the last thing he needed was to get into trouble for laughing, it wasn't worth it.
"Honestly though," He said returning to his normal American accent. "What's your favorite class?"

They both started laughing, and Edward showed the front gap between his two front teeth. Then, they stopped, honestly Hannah didn't want to get in trouble for making loud noises
"Honestly though," He said returning to his normal accent. "What's your favorite class?" she paused before talking "I like Charms, although my least favorite is Astronomy." "What's yours?" quietly, Hannah asked. It was nice talking to him. It was somewhat easy, but she blushed, as she spoke, and as she looked at him or he looked at her.

She couldn’t help but smile, the girl looked at Edward waiting for a response.
