Dear Family,
OOC: Few spelling errors intended.
Felicity trudged up the stairs to the Owlery. Oh, how she wished she had an owl of her own so she didn't have to make the journey upstairs. Soon enough, she thought to herself, a sigh escaping her lips as she reached the top, letting go of the railing. She walked to a nearby bench, the smell of birds and the sounds of owls filling her senses. She pulled out the piece of parchment she had brought along with her from her dormitory, as well as her quill, and got scribbling away at the letter she promised her family she would write.

Dear Family,
I know, I'm late! Don't tell me, mum. It's been an exciting time at Hogwarts so far! I've met quite a few people.. and a few events have happened as well. Oh, you'll be so entertained by what I have to tell you! But to start off, I have to say, I miss you all terribly. I miss Dad telling me jokes as I fall asleep, and Mum doing trivia with me. I even miss you, Winston, annoying me half to death. I miss Mum's cooking so much! It was everything to me. Aberdeen will forever be my home, but I hope I can make one out of Hogwarts as well.
I've fallen in love with the classes here, as you predicted, Dad. I thought I'd be amazing with Transfiguration, but unfortunately, I'm not. I succeed so well with Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms, though! So how come I can't do Transfiguration? It annoys me alot. I hope that with studying, though, I can get better!
I should tell you that I got sorted into Ravenclaw, just as I hoped for! I know you wanted me to get Hufflepuff, Dad, but I am so happy with my house. I stay in the Sybill Trelawney dormitory, and they say that she was a great Divination professor back in Harry Potter's time! You told me lots of stories about Harry Potter, Dad, so you must have known her too! In the dorm, I've met a few girls - I really hope they can become my friends soon, too. Their names are Dymphna, Alice, Emma, Rosalie and Grace. They're all very nice. I also made friends with a boy named Ryan. He's in Ravenclaw too.
Winston, you would have enjoyed it so much here. I wish you were here to experience it all too! The food is delicious, the structure is so amazing, and they even have an astronomy tower and a lake! Isn't that cool? You know, I've missed you dearly. All of you. I hope you know that I love you.
I've got to get back to my classes now, I have History of Magic next, and I can't be late for that. The owlery has so many stairs! Until next time.
