Thursday, November the 10th, Afternoon
Class ended and I, along with a bunch of other second years filed out of Potions to go to our next class which happened to be Defense Against the Dark Arts for me. This was my favorite class followed closely by Transfiguration, and as it was November already, I had managed to read the whole book used in DADA once and I was over half of the way done with reading it a second time. As I walked through the corridors of Hogwarts whilst carrying my small suitcase which contained all of the books I’d need for the afternoon, as well as my parchment, quill, and ink, I spotted a familiar head that had mostly blonde hair with black roots growing out of the ends. “Hey Daphne!” I called out amongst the crowd as I approached the girl. “How’re you today? Seen my brother in any of your classes? Was he annoying? Did he talk too much like I’m doing right now?” I laughed a bit as I calmed down to give Daphne a chance to answer my questions. After all, we had a limited time with each other before we would have to part ways so that we could get to class on time.Daphne - #244b5e

Passing Period
Daphne had just gotten out of Defense Of the Dark Arts, her next class being Transfiguration. Her books were securely tucked under her arm, the girl awaiting for everyone to exit the class before she did. As she headed down the hall, she heard a familiar voice, looking up to see her friend, David. She went to the side towards the crowd in order to allow everyone to pass by, giving them a spot to talk. Her class was on the fifth floor so she didn't have long to talk if she wanted to not be late. "Hi Dave! I'm doing good, and I did see him in charms, he is pretty funny! Really, it's no problem." She said while leaning against the wall, "Oh what's your next class? I'm on my way to Transfig, I also have astronomy later today! It's my favorite class besides the ones where we learn spells." She fiddled with her fingers for a moment, and then pulled out her wand. "I want to show you something real quick! Take out something, anything can be a piece of paper or any object." Daphne wanted to show him the dancing feet spell, and would rather not use it on David himself.

“Hi Dave!” Daphne said once I had finished. “I'm doing good, and I did see him in charms, he is pretty funny! Really, it's no problem.” ‘Right, I keep forgetting that not everyone has the same views as my mom.’ I thought to myself as Daphne continued. “Oh what's your next class? I'm on my way to Transfig, I also have astronomy later today! It's my favorite class besides the ones where we learn spells.” “My next class is Defense Against the Dark Arts which is right around the corner behind us, but I think I can walk you a bit further before heading back. And it’s good to hear that my brother is acting his usual self, but as I grew up with a mother who always said that he, and I talk too much, the idea that we were annoying got imprinted into my mind in a way.” By the time I finished talking, Daphne and I were beginning to walk up the stairs to the third floor where she said “Mm.” before taking out her wand and changing the subject, saying in a cheery voice: “I want to show you something real quick! Take out something, anything, can be a piece of paper or any object.” As soon as she finished talking, I stretched out my hand to stop her from moving any further before kneeling down on the ground before opening my suitcase and getting out a quill. “Well here you are Daphne.” I said. “Now what are you gonna do with it, huh? Snap it in half and fix it using a Reparo?” I joked playfully.Daphne - #244b5e

Daphne awaited for David to get out the object, giggling in amusement as he mentioned if she'd fix it with Reparo. He likely already knew the spell already since he was a second year but she wanted to show him regardless. Perhaps it was a way of..impressing him? Wait, why would she want to impress him? Well, they were just friends..did friends impress other friends? She blinked for a moment and found her cheeks visibly growing red. "No, no! It wouldn't be impressive unless I did it with a bigger object. But I think it's pretty cool."

Daphne turned red before saying “No, no! It wouldn’t be impressive unless I did it with a bigger object. But I think it’s pretty cool.” She then pointed her wand at my quill and grinned before saying “Tarantallegra!” My quill immediately began dancing around in my hand and before I could do anything, it had managed to wiggle out of my hand and drop to the the floor where it began to tap dance, if you could call it that. ‘First years.’ I thought as a smile spread upon my face. ‘So impressed with the little bits of magic they can do. And I mean, who can blame them? I’m impressed with the magic I can do and I’m only a second year.’ As I was thinking, Daphne took my hand before kneeling down to look a bit closer at my quill, bringing me down. At this point I felt my face go slightly red. I mean, yeah I held Daphne’s hand a month ago, but I didn’t really have a crush on her back then. “Isn’t it so cute?” Daphne asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. “I’m not sure how long it takes for it to stop dancing so you may have a forever dancing quill.” “Well, having seen others cast Rictusempra and having actually cast it before, I can confirm your spell won’t last very long. I mean, it lasts less then a minute on a human, and since it’s probably easier to cast on something as small and light as a quill, it’ll probably last a few minutes at most.” I then snatched the quill off of the ground and threw it inside of my suitcase before snapping it shut. “Well, I’m afraid it’s time to go now Daphne, or else we’ll be late to class.” I turned to leave, but then a thought struck me. I turned around to face Daphne before saying “Oh, and if you’re up to it, I could show you some pretty cool spells in the Dueling Room on Sunday.”Daphne - #244b5e
