After signing up to have a quill pal Pearl was excited to learn she was matched with someone, Cynthia Beaufort. She wondered what this person was like, what their interests were and many other things that she planned to ask them through their correspondence. Once classes finished for the day she quickly made her way back to her dorm to write out her letter before going over to the Owlery. She smiled as she held the letter in hand, attaching it to one of the owls waiting inside. "Take care getting this to Cynthia for me." Pearl said and with that her letter was sent off to her new quill pal.

Dear Pearl,
I am a first year Ravenclaw from Oxfordshire. I enjoy music and I have learned the French horn before, though I doubt my skills are the best. In my free time, I do a bit of reading and watercolour. I don’t care that much about what I wear, it really doesn’t matter. Fashion just doesn’t speak to me. I dislike Quidditch and flying in general, but I’m trying to make it onto the deulling team.
My favourite class is astronomy. I have always enjoyed astronomy. I love looking up at the skies and making out the stars and galaxies. It all feels mystical. I have started my own club: Debate Club. It is now closed for sign ups, but you can always join as a spectator. As for other clubs, I’ve joined the Baikim fan club if that is IC and I have applied for some other clubs, like P.U.R.E, but I am yet to be accepted. I like charms, as well, but it is not my favourite class.

Cynthia Beaufort smiled, as she finished her signature. She called an owl over. ‘Come. Send this to Pearl Jane Goodall, first year Hufflepuff. I hope she can return the letter soon.’ After the drama that had been going on, Cynthia just wanted some of the peace and quiet she found in letter writing. Her brain was hurting. Too much was going on all at once and apparently she had just made an enemy not talking about Pearl, someone else. She sighed. At least writing letters made her feel better. ‘Goodbye owl!’

Pearl was so happy when she received her first letter back from her new quill pal. She had learned some basics about the girl but was hoping with this letter to learn a little more. While writing it she had been sitting on her bed in her dorm brainstorming what to ask and added some more basic questions, not wanting to ask too much personal ones as they were just getting aquainted with each other. Maybe in the future they would learn more about each other and could even find time to meet up. Pearl signed her name and closed up the envelope before bringing it to the Owlery. "Hello lovely little owl, please bring this to Cynthia Beaufort for me and thank you!" She smiled and watched as the owl carried her letter away.

As always, it is wonderful to talk to you. I think Baikim is just so cute, though I like AF and Simon, too. I know all the details, but I can’t say I’m the most gossipy person. Anyways, the dueling club haven’t yet accepted me — they say I need to learn more dueling spells. That’s quite sad really, but I could always learn more. What’s your star sign if you don’t mind sharing? I am Aquarius. I agree, where should we meet?
Anyways, my family is quite nice. I don’t have any siblings. My mum is an author and she homeschooled me before I went to Hogwarts. She was once a professor at another school. My dad works in the Department of Mysteries and I don’t really know what he’s up to there. He is very busy. My favourite colour is blue — but it has to be very dark, like the blue on the night sky. My favourite food is, well, I’ve never thought about that — I’ll have to go classical, I love plum pudding and mince pies. Talking about these foods, Christmas is here (almost)! Have you seen the decor around Hogwarts? Isn’t it lovely! My favourite animal is a cat — quite sleek and elegant, but also very smart. Feel free to ask me more questions. I’m a (slightly) narcissistic person — I love talking about the one and only me!
