Emma sighed internally after the announcement had come out. "Two in the front, two in back." After the quick comment, she took her position, a few feet in front of the port-a-potty. If the Virgo attackers wanted to get the flag, they would, unmistakably, have to pass her by. She stood upright, her head looking every which way and her hands down at her side. Once or twice, she had even lookedTeam Leo

The brunette signaled towards the defenders to get their attention before the first Virgo ambush commenced. "Don't- well, try not to leave your spot, if you do, you could let in more attackers!" She found herself a bit bossy at the moment, but she really didn't mind. She hadn't exactly noticed she was yelling, but if she could do anything to win, she'd do it.
She walked around briefly, sometimes getting close to the foul odor of the port-a-potty. Emma quickly took a step away from its unique turquoise color. What in the world were the professors feeding them? She thought to herself as she crushed a few twigs for fun. She would have never taken a step in a public restroom like that.

"Great idea!" Annabelle shouted back. She paced along the division line toward the South end of the grounds. It was likely that she would have to spend much of her time along this border, as this was where a lot of the action would be happening. The sheer amount of trust involved in this suddenly struck her. What if somebody was tagged and just... didn't report back? What if someone refused to hand over the flag and just kept running? Anything that happened outside her field of vision would have to run strictly on the honor system... Then again, she did have Lucy. The blonde-haired girl seemed very competent, and Annabelle was happy to have her on the team.
Mentions: Lucy O'Sullivan, Team Captains, Leo Defenders
Interacts: Lucy O'Sullivan, Emma Hill
As for the players themselves, Annabelle had met several of them. They seemed like trustworthy people. In fact, all of the children she had met over time had been relatively good. The young optimist may have been a bit naive, but that did stem largely from experience. Plus she had her captains to keep the group in line. Edric was a fellow prefect, so she knew him to be responsible at least enough to handle that job. She knew Emma pretty well too. She had been a member of her club and had proven to be an incredibly loyal friend. Even when Annabelle had been passed out in the Hospital wing with a shattered leg, Emma had been one of the true companions who had refused to leave her side. She knew how important this game was to Annabelle... surely she could be trusted to keep her team in line.
Anna did not know Angela very well. In fact, the two had barely met. Yet she did feel that she could trust this new girl. She had given her the role of captain, after all. As for Lilith... well, she was the most concerning. When Annabelle had first met the raven-haired Attacker, she had been attempting to sneak into the Restricted Section of the Library. She had proven to be a great partner-in-crime, but what would happen when she was told to enforce the rules? Anna thought back to that day, a look of concern momentarily cast over her face. No, it's alright. That night had ended with Lilith being as loyal a friend as any other Anna had. She could have simply blamed Annabelle for the whole thing and continued on her own, but instead she had gotten the two of them out safely without being caught. Lilith Westlocke could be trusted.
Suddenly a horrible stench hit her nose. Gross... she thought. This must be where the port-a-potties were set up. She hadn't been over here yet... she hadn't dared. Yet from the look of it, several of the Leo Defenders were braving the smell. Anna stopped, looking curiously at the group. They were all standing near the horrific box, yet she did not see a flag anywhere. Surely they would place their defenders somewhere near their flag...
It was then that she saw a faint red light streaming from the door. It had been left slightly ajar. An honest mistake. She called out to Emma, smiling so as not to be threatening. She was certain that they had not meant to break the rules. "Flags need to be visible for at least twenty feet!" she reminded her friend. "You should hang it outside the door." Opening the door was also an option, but she was not quite sure the Defenders would want to deal with the horrible stink cloud that would come from that.

"What's going on?" Jeronimo asked, realizing what the issue was. Emma had hidden the flag inside the porta-potty-
Jeronimo suddenly gripped his mouth. He hadn't visited the porta-potty yet, and he at that moment decided to never do so again. He hadn't smelled anything this bad since... well, nothing. He had never smelled anything so bad. It was even worse than the time that the toilet overflowed...
For the sake of his already wavering self-confidence, Jeronimo decided to shut that particular memory out as he instinctively bowed a little to Annabelle. It took him a moment to realize that Annabelle was not Korean, and would probably had found that odd.
"Sorry, we didn't realize, honest," he said, bowing his head a few more times anyway, "Can we... can we put it behind the porta-potty? It's technically visible from twenty feet the OTHER way. Right? Would that be okay?"
Jeronimo grinned as he raised his shoulders impishly. "I mean, we just want to weaponize the horrible smell. Although... although I guess the attackers would be running, so they don't really... get affected..."
Jeronimo turned to Emma. "Should... should we move it somewhere else?"

"My bad, I had completely forgotten, thanks for reminding me Anna." She laughed and made her way to the potty. If Emma wouldn't have placed have the flag inside of the port-a-potty, she would have been fonder to retrieve it. She nodded with a smile towards Annabelle then caught a breath before walking into the port-a-potty and obtaining the flag. She could have sworn she could still smell, perhaps even taste the odor. You couldn't taste odors though, could you? Hopefully, it was all in her mind. She walked out of the portable restroom slightly quicker than she had entered.Team Leo

The brunette turned to both Annabelle and Jeronimo. She felt slightly guilty and relieved. After all, he had stuck up for her when she had made the unmistakable blunder. The pressure on her was like a dense metal rod on her neck, it could have outweighed her easily.
"Hide it... near the Great Lake, perhaps... on a tree trunk?" She had made the words up as she went along. Though it was her second choice, she still felt as if the port-a-potty would have been a good choice. She wasn't going to second-guess her own command, her father had always said 'Go with what your gut tells you to do, not your heart', she hadn't seen the difference, yet.
"I can go," she said indifferently as she shrugged. "I mean, it's the least I can do." With the bright red flag in her hand, she jogged over to the tree closest to the lake. It hit her, she had no rope, no nails, not even a sticky substance. She wasn't the most creative, but when she got ideas they generally never worked. She partially tore a piece of bark from the tree and pierced the flag's skin. After all, if someone wanted to get the flag they'd have to fumble with the jagged bark.
I'll just mend them afterward. She thought to herself just in case the topic was brought up.

Angela looked around. Nothing was going according to plan. Aurelia left, the weird boy seemed super shy and unsure what's he even doing here, and the white-haired girl... was talking to the other team? At least the defenders showed some sort of coordination.Leo attackers, mentions defenders
See guys... That's the spirit!, she commented Aurelia's departure, although she was definitely angry at her for not listening to the plan at all. Such bad teamwork. Would it be fair to call that "typical Gryffindor"?
Let's split., she said quickly. You, she pointed at the scared boy, come with me. Sophie, you go with her. Hopefully this way both pairs will include at least one reasonable person... We meet up behind Herbology Hut. Don't lose sight of each other. LET'S GO!, she yelled and ran towards the enemies' terrain.
She had no idea where to look for the flag, but moving towards the Forest seemed reasonable. Where else would they hide the flag? Near some boring cabin? She decided to follow Aurelia, sneaking behind the cabins. Word was Thestrals lived at the edge of the Forest, so the direction was good, and this way Aurelia won't be completely on her own in case of an attack.

They had to find the flag to win. Aurelia carefully walked towards the Thestral bunk. A small sound could attrack a lot of attention. She made sure that ever step she took didn't break any dead twigs or rustle to many fallen leaves. She also ensured to keep her back hunched slightly. The darkness already did quite a good job at hiding her tall figure but the glowing band on her wrist wasn't helping at all.
The Aurelia searched the exterior of the bunk. They wouldn't put it inside, it needed to be full on view. There was nothing. Then she heard a rustle at her right. The forest. Could Virgo have played dirty? Could they have hidden the flag where someone was most likely not to find? Possibly. They wouldn't venture too far in. So Aurelia stepped through the dense brush. Darkness greeted her, she couldn't even see her hands in font of her. Even then, she continued trailing at the edge. Nothing had caught her eye. They possibly might have hidden it deeper in the forest. As impulsive as always, she ventured in.
She knew there were many dangerous creatures in the forest but it wouldn't take to long.

Blaze had just finished talking or what not and a problem must have aroused. One of the members of his team had placed the flag inside of a porta potty, even Blaze knew that wasn't fair play. If he was being honest he would have suggested for the flag t be anywhere but the porta potty. It wasn't fair to the other team. Annabelle mentioned there mistake and the teammate had moved the flag. He had heard them mention the Lake but if he was being honest he didn't know the location of his teams own flag. It struck him he didn't know where to look.
Luckily a different girl had asked him to pair up with her and so he gracefully accepted and by "gracefully accepted" I obviously mean really awkwardly. He really needed to be more social maybe second year would be the year he did that. Th girl he had paired up with had mentioned the herbology hut for a randevu point after they had looked around for a while. This made sense but the girl who had just said they would pair up followed a totally different plan following someone herself! So all Blaze could do was "I guess I will meet you guys at the randevu point after ten minutes," he said all this as he ran off into the forest looking for any traces of a flag.
He looked back once more and saw the two girls go into the forest themselves so Blaze just kept running into the forest in a slightly different angle as he took it as a sign that they were ok with what he was doing. This what not the plan they had mentioned before but that was ok right. Yeah, everything would be ok...

Flags and the Forest
[quote]DM Post- Interactions: Blaze Flyte and Angela Silverberry
The Forbidden Forest... it was a place of wonders and a place of nightmares. The area did not need the frequent warnings and lectures that the Hogwarts professors gave to convince most students to stay away. The trees rose high into the air, blocking out the starlight. What little light did break through came from the moon, but this offered no guidance. Instead it cast eerie shadows across the ground, giving the impression that monsters hid around every corner. And this was far from an impossibility. Every sound seemed to be amplified tenfold, every footstep echoing through the massive trees. Occasionally a shuffle or a howl would make itself known, causing shivers in whoever would hear it. And it seemed the group of second-years had wandered in alone.
From the shadows, a small inhabitant of the forest watched curiously. Eight beady eyes about the size of a first-year's thumb were locked on one wandering pair. It was a blond haired couple- easily spotted as their hair glistened under the moonlight. Rather small... the creature thought. They were about four times his size of course, but only half the size of his older brother. He'd seen similar creatures wandering the forest, though they usually carried fire sticks and were much, much larger. These ones, however... they would make for easy prey.
The blue-eyes boy didn't seem to have much meat to him. He looked nervous and awkward, quite a bit more nervous than his female counterpart. The girl, on the other hand, may pose more of a problem. She seemed confident and determines, and one of his eyes landed on the stick lodged in her belt. He'd heard rumors of such stick- magic sticks... they produced horrible burning sparks and strange spells that could bind all eight of his legs at once. Best to get backup, yes...
The pair would hear a brief rustling as the massive spider dashed from behind a nearby bush. He came into the light for a brief moment, only long enough to make out a basic shape. Blaze would not see the creature- perhaps he was busy searching for the flag? But Angela would see it in all of its horrific glory. It was on the small side for an Acromantula, only coming up to the girls knees, but it's eight hairy legs and poisonous fangs were more than enough to drive terror into the heart of most students. It would not attack them yet, only run off to bring its family.

Angela was slowly getting pumped with adrenaline. She was now on an enemy's terrain. Her hearing and sight were sharpened, her body and wand ready to react to the littlest sign of danger.mentions: Flyte Blaze, the small acromantula
Don't get caught - listen closely - don't make noise - why is it so silent? - look after Aurelia - is it branches crumbling over there? - look after the boy, the stupid boy who... where is he?! Angela abruptly stopped behind one of the cabins and looked behind in panic. Did she lose him? Did he wander away? Did they get him?
No, there he was. She could see his light hair maybe twenty yards away, at the edge of the Forest. She wanted to go and join him, but until she had the chance to move, she noticed something more. A spider, giant hairy spider jumping from behind a bush, visible only for a split second before it turned around and disappeared in the forest.
Her heart was beating hard. Now she wasn't pleasantly excited, now she was scared. This monster looked actually dangerous, poisonous. She never fought something like this before. She raised her wand to cast Red Sparks Charm and alarm others... but restrained. This would definitely end the game. Is it worth it?
No, it's not, decided the stupidly ambitious part of her mind, let's go get the flag. She turned back and took a deep breath to calm down. Professors wouldn't allow any harm to the students from the Forest creatures. This spider wasn't even that big anyway. And the flag has to be close.
Maybe she would try to join the boy, but at the moment she was too emotional and angry at him. He should just follow her. If he does, he will be fine.
She started walking towards the Herbology Hut again along the Forest edge. Her goal is not going to change. Now she simply has one more thing to look out for.
OOC: Flyte wrote in the other thread that he won't be around for weeks, so I guess we need to forget about or slightly godmod him.

To Edric's suprise nobody had suggest a better spot to hide their team's flag than near the Cabin of the Lethifold. He had expected his fellow defenders to have more detailed or clever ideas than him, but there hand't really been any other possible position for the flag mentioned by his fellow students and so, as the team captain, he'd taken Team Virgo's flag and put it into the earth beside the simple tent that was Professor Valtome's Cabin.Team VirgoInteracts with: Virgo Defenders (Mary Brown, Anatole Evans, Evianna Wilson, Amadea Campbell)
It was a strange feeling, being the leader. Of course Edric had been a Prefect for a bit of time now, but there were other Prefects who shared his duties and his Head of House and the other professors who he reported to. Being the sole person in charge, even if it was only of such a small group, made him nervous and the gloomy atmosphere that surrounded the Cabin of the Lethifold didn't help. He was used to it by now, but only kind of, and the Forbidden Forest was too close for his liking.
"Okay, guys," he addressed the others, standing straight and trying his best to sound confident. ""We should form a circle or something around the flag. The cabin and the forest will cover us from the back, so we can focus on their half and watch our for their attackers." He pointed towards the half of the field that belonged to the Leo Team.
"Don't let the atmosphere get to you, I know it's eerie... you can stay a bit further away from the cabin if you want, we'll see any attackers coming."
As the Captain of the Defenders Edric felt like he should stay clostest to the flag. He inched away from it until he was standing in the shadow of the tent of the Lethifold Cabin, focusing his amber eyes on the Leo side of the camp and trying to ignore how cold it felt here despite the sun shining down on him.
"That which yields is not always weak."
