ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was nice to have Bailey there. Kim knew he could count on her to be there for him, no matter what the reason might be or what she had to do. She really was like a ray of sunshine, the sister to everyone at Hogwarts. He welcomed her assistance. Perhaps she could be the one to meet and greet everyone who entered, so he wouldn't have to surround himself with people all the time. Bailey was one of the few who realized his aversion to large crowds or groups of people. It wasn't as if Kim tended to advertise this to anyone. "If you could meet and greet all the guests who come in, make sure they're doing alright etc. that would be great." He said, thinking about the things he needed to do at the bash. Bailey being the first to enter was relieving to him, it meant he could speak with her about various things before people started coming to the bash he'd taken the time to set up. "You can put the food on the refreshments table with the rest of the creations." Kim told her and his lips twitched into what could have almost been a smile but wasn't quite one. "Thanks. You look great too." The two almost matched, both having worn red for the bash, even though they hadn't color coordinated beforehand. Once Bailey had gone over, Kim turned to look around. Someone had just arrived. The very first guest. Oliver Brown, if he remembered correctly, from Edward's spooky party earlier that month. The boy who'd worn the same costume as him, which had been rather comforting for Kim at the time. He didn't count Bailey as a guest because she was... well, she was his ray of sunshine. The girl who always helped him out, who was always his vice-president or vice versa. She was always a part of whatever he tended to do. Therefore, naturally Kim didn't consider her to be a guest, she was a part of him. As Oliver asked if he was the first to arrive, Kim nodded. "You are the first guest to arrive." He told him and glanced over at Bailey as she spoke, confirming his words. They really did share a mindset! Haley was the next to enter, with someone he wasn't familiar with or had seen before. Wait, no. The boy with her did look somewhat familiar. Ah, yes. He'd been at the Fall Ball. But Kim had never met him before. Haley introduced him to the boy as Joker. What an interesting name. It made him think of pranksters and tricksters. Kim was fairly certain that wasn't his real name but maybe it was a nickname of his. Like he was a jokster? So he was called the Joker? The good thing was his mind was quickly being taken off his troubles. It really was a good thing to have happen. "Good to see you again, Haley. I take it you must be her date, Joker?" Kim asked with a twitch of his lips. Yes, he was teasing Haley a bit to see how she'd react to his words. Ronnie took the opportunity to introduce himself with his real name a few seconds after and Kim nodded his head in response. When the boy stretched out a hand to him, it took him a second to realize what it meant. Right, it was a foreign custom to shake hands, and Kim did so. "Kim Aoki. Glad to have you here." He said, his words being true. As Ronnie complimented Hogwarts for being great at setting up events, Kim let his blue eyes flicker around the room. "This all? Oh, it's alright, I suppose." "But it was only me and the house elves who set this up, so it's not really that great. I figured it should at least look fun though! However, the balls are always legendary at Hogwarts. It's great that foreign schools can come and participate in them." Kim told Ronnie. Part of him wondered what balls were like at other schools, only Hogwarts tended to offer other schools entry into their events from time to time. Right? Kim couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to visit other schools too. Like the Triwizard Tournament before. More people entered and Kim started to feel nervousness building up within him. Perhaps it was partly because none of his small circle of friends from his first year had arrived at the bash yet. Sophia, who would usually have been the first there... Kim stopped that thought before it had a chance to dampen his mood right now. Precious was nowhere to be seen. Gia wasn't present because of 'certain things' she was currently going through because of the Hexwizard Tournament announcements. Those were the people he had felt the closest to, that is along with Colin. Sage... he hadn't seen her in quite some time. Noah and Quinn were gone. Avery was too busy and had sent word he wouldn't be able to make it this time. Taizu didn't think he could handle being at a bash right now. He wasn't entirely sure whether Evelyn or Pax would be able to make it and Eun-ji had sent word she had to focus on her studies and didn't have time to relax anytime soon. At least Colin had said he would make it there. A sigh escaped his lips as he wondered whether this was such a good idea. Wouldn't people be too busy to come to a bash like this? Why did Bailey think he should still hold it now? It was around this time that a soft voice reached his ears, even though it was softer than the chatter around him. But that was what had drawn his attention to it in the first place. Kim glanced over in the person's direction to let his blue eyes alight on Sienna. "Yo. It's nice to see you, Sienna. Hope you'll have some fun!" He told her, trying to force a smile onto his lips. Sienna and him were much the same, not being able to do well when it came to social gatherings. "No need to force yourself to make small talk with others. Grab some food and drink and within an hour's time I'll set up the spider game!" Kim said, trying to make her feel comfortable at the bash. Valentin's arrival was spotted by Kim as the White Seeker waved to him from a short distance away. The two had gotten a lot closer from their correspondence, even if they hadn't really met that often in person. So, it made him feel a bit better, upon seeing him come to the bash. There were a lot of familiar faces at the bash and some unfamiliar ones too. Galton was spotted directly after Valentin and Kim decided to move over to where he was. When Galton asked where to put the food, Kim directed him towards the long tables against the wall and took a few deep breaths. Emma arrived a little late to the bash. But it wasn't as if the bash had a time limit as to when you could arrive! The only thing that did was the game. However, the game hadn't started yet, as an hour hadn't passed yet. "Thanks, Emma. You can put them on the food table over there. The spider game will take place at 8:00PM, so make sure you stick around until then! Enjoy yourself and get some refreshments!" Kim said with a nod and spotted another familiar face. One that he didn't want to deal with right now. It was Hana-chan. A sigh escaped his lips. Was he here to enjoy the bash, or was he here to bother him? Kim couldn't tell. If it was the former, he'd welcome him to the celebration. If it was the latter... Kim would disappear as soon as possible. However, seeing the beautiful Pea Elena Fowl arrive, dressed in white, Kim's mood brightened a little. She was pretty as always and it was nice to see her there. That was when he witnessed the little interaction between her and Hana-chan. Of course Hana-chan would make trouble! Chatter suddenly increased in intensity and then decreased, which drew his attention to the area in question. Apparently, someone had started up a dance. Kim was surprised as the music was creepy and not really dance-like. So it was a feat for someone to be able to dance! Returning his attention to Galton again, Kim let his eyes linger on him, almost in a longing manner. "It's nice to see you again, Galton. A shame we can't be partners again in an official duel since the rules were changed for this school year. Maybe we could partner up again in the future though in an unofficial one." Kim said as he gave him a slight smile. He really did like having Galton as a partner, the older boy had been very skilled and Kim thought he could learn things from him. Before he could do or say anything else, Bailey suddenly popped up, grabbed his arm and dragged him off. "Eh?!" Kim exclaimed, confused about all of this. As he was getting dragged out onto the dance floor, Kim briefly glimpsed Cu Sith and his blue eyes widened at the unexpected sight of the snake. A rare genuine smile came to his lips. He loved Cu Sith and was tempted to call out to her but didn't want to risk being heard by others. If only Cu Sith would come over to him, without him needing to say anything to her in the process... Kim didn't want to dance. Not right now. But Bailey was making him go there. As a result, he did what anyone would do. Kim pretended he was going to do it, to make the girl let her guard down. Then when Bailey wasn't looking, he'd put his plan into action. As in, he would slip through the crowd on the dance floor and disappear somewhere. The plan was successful. Knowing Bailey would try and seek him out and drag him back in, Kim quickly escaped from the ballroom and out into the hallway corridors. Yes, it was much better out here, less bodies. More air to breathe. Kim knew he'd have to go back in again at some point but it wasn't anytime soon. He'd return when the spider game was supposed to start, as the area would begin to clear. After all, the pairs would go into a different area of the room. Breathing again, Kim took a few more steps away from the ballroom doors, just in case someone opened them to peek outside the doors. It was then that Kim came across a very interesting sight before his eyes. Valentin and Ginyami, looking as if they were acting out a scene from a kdrama. No, it was more like a Boys Love drama. Vale's back was up against the wall, almost as if he had been placed there by Ginyami. The boy's lips were parted slightly, almost as if he was waiting for a kiss from the other and his eyes were staring directly up into Ginyami's eyes. The top buttons of Vale's coat were also open, as if either he or Ginyami had undone them specifically to engage in... something unmentionable. All in all, it was not something he'd expected to see out here. Kim's jaw dropped. And he wasn't the only one to witness this scene taking place either. A Japanese student Hiro Bakugo had also arrived and had a look on his face, almost one of surprise but also amusement. Right at this particular time. It was almost as if the universe was acting to embarrass Valentin right now. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Thrills & Chills Bash

Was Damion making it too obvious? Did he need to be sat down and had a talk with? It had not been that long since he had met or well bumped into Kim. They (Damion and Kim) had been in the Fashion Club together. Oh well! He was not being very subtle about it. Maybe being subtle was not in the cards for him... Maybe....
Well he wanted to be more of a social animal than being a loner. He was not good at being social yet. He didn't have that many friends though. Some of his friends left... well he had not heard from some of them in a while. Dylan was studying in Durmstrang and was away there. Not that Dami minded that. He was happy that Dylan was studying...
Why would that annoy Damion. He sighed as he fixed his hat on his head. He was eager to see what this party was all about. He had seen the poster for the Halloween Party. He was curious and wanted to see what the whole thing was about. He spotted @Bailey Glade and made his way to her. He was happy to see some known faces in the party. He didn't remember a lot of them but a few of them he had seen in passing.
"Hello Bailey" He said smiling. "I can't wait for the Spider Games to start." He said very interestedly. He looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of the person he was crushing on. But he didn't seem to see Kim any where. He was a little disappointed that Kim would leave his own party but oh well... he didn't ponder on that much. But he couldn't let his mind be at ease until he had asked Bailey about it. "Where is Kim though?" He asked looking at Bailey. Maybe Bailey would have seen him? Who knew?

Thrills & Chills Bash
“I want to be with you, never wanted to cause such a commotion nor ruin your fun,”
“Shhh...you did not ruin my fun. Quite the contrary, actually. I haven't had fun like that in a very long time,” Ginyami confessed. As more words slowly trickled out of Valentin, he listened, smiling and shaking his head. “A special time, is it?” he repeated, amused at the other's attempt to explain himself and his lack of sustenance. But when the Durmstrang boy suggested trying to eat once they stepped around the corner, his brows knit together in concern yet again. “Are you sure you want me to stay with you if you're going to eat?” he asked, but silently he knew there was little other choice. He couldn't very well leave Valentin to fend for himself in the state he was in. The thin, pale youth couldn't even stand on his own.
Once Valentin signaled he was ready with his grip and a nod, the pair made their careful, gradual way down the hall until they were able to turn the corner. Upon making it to their destination, the goblin king took up support against another wall yet again.
“Thank you so much for helping me. This would be a disaster without your kindness.”
“Not at all. I'm only doing what anyone else would in my shoes,” the black-haired fox insisted as the right arm draped about his shoulder slipped off smooth as silk and brushed against his neck. He stayed close as Valentin repositioned himself with his weight on the wall, ready to catch him again or provide more support if needed.
“One day I’ll make this all worth it to you. Small price to pay, I promise.”
“It is not a price at all to have the opportunity to remain in your company.” Ginyami replied, arms out a little in case they could offer more assistance. “You have already made this experience more than worth it to me. All I ask for is that you get better and prioritize your health a little more.”
He eyed the coat pocket on the right side of Valentin's coat, thinking what a blessing it was that he had had the foresight to bring the grapes and in a pouch that could protect them. As he regarded his peer, however, he witnessed the lines of his body grow taut and guessed at the reason behind it. Valentin's twisted grin weakened Ginyami's resolve, but he persevered with the determination of having the seeker's best interests at heart. He couldn't faulter now or there would be no one else to rely on.
“I want you to do it, please. Feed me. Haha… Yeah, sorry, please. It will help. If I choose to make it even scarier myself, it feels like I control the fear.”
With Valentin's official request, Ginyami could not avoid what reality dictated was necessary from him any longer, though Valentin's mention of fear caused him to waver yet again. He observed the tremors of the seeker's dexterous, ivory hand as it undid the goblin king's coat buttons and pulled open his coat, revealing both his white undershirt and the inner pocket that had been referred to earlier.
Those clear, jewel-chip eyes gazed deeply into the fox's own as if to divert his attention away from his quickly-heaving chest. A sudden sound and movement at the edge of his peripheral vision caused Ginyami to jerk his head toward them, though, and he stopped with his hand halfway slid into Valentin's inner pocket.
It was the host of the party; Kim Aoki was his name if Ginyami remembered right. He had bright orange hair, sported vampire fangs, and the rich red coat of an aristocrat. The fangs were especially obvious as his mouth dropped open and it took a moment for the Japanese student to understand why. He blinked slowly once before beaming at Kim and putting a finger from the hand that wasn't in Valentin's pocket to his lips. Shhh.
As if that wasn't bad enough, a certain other student from Mahoutokoro appeared as if out of nowhere and Ginyami fought the inner urge to roll his eyes at the look on Hiro Bakugo's face. He would have liked to throw something at the younger boy, but all he had at hand were Valentin's precious grapes and he didn't dare waste such a crucial commodity. So, instead, Ginyami tilted his head at him and gave him a look of his own - one that suggested Hiro be on his way as quickly as possible and without a word if he wanted to live to see the next day.
"...Yes, hello, may I help you?" His narrow eyes shifted back to Kim with an exaggeratingly polite smile. "Either of you?"

────────────────────────────────There was word that a spider game was starting. I loved games and wanted to play. I hoped there would be some sort of explanation, around the game, but if not I would figure things out in some way, or… not. From what I had heard at the snack table, the game had three rounds and didn’t require any spells or abilities. That was good because I knew a few things, but wasn’t confident at all that I would be able to cast anything.
I went back to the huge snack table and grabbed one of the tiny plates. Everything on the table looked delicious, and I wanted to try it all. I grabbed one of my graveyard puddings, and the rich chocolate flavor erupted in my mouth. It was SO good. Instead of grabbing another, I decided to try one of the creepy doughnuts which were so cute and also delicious. I was thirsty so I began to observe the table that was cover in different drinks, and grabbed one of the hot chocolates. I sat down on a nearby bench that was facing the dance floor. I watched all the couples dance as I well, watched and wished I had someone to dance with. At least the game was beginning shortly.────────────────────────────────

Thrills & Chills Bash
“Shhh...you did not ruin my fun. Quite the contrary, actually. I haven't had fun like that in a very long time.” As the words began to sink in, Valentin realized he wasn’t used to this, really feeling like he made someone happy. Despite all his striving, all the jokes and speeches and heartfelt conversations, when was the last time Val actually heard that someone enjoyed his company? People certainly came to depend on Valentin’s self-sacrifice, and he knew that he was effective, but… as straightforward as Ginyami’s words were, they were the kind Val had been needing all along. They did not come across as praise, simply as an expression of pleasure, making Valya happier as well. It was purer than fans crying for joy in the stadium, for none of this would have been possible were it not for the Mahoutokoro boy.
“A special time, is it?” repeated the fox. Valentin was usually a healthy, solid athlete, but it was not wrong for Ginyami to be amused – on several levels. “Are you sure you want me to stay with you if you're going to eat?”
Nodding with a shy smile, Valentin looked down to the side. “You make me want to push my limits. It’s exciting.” Part of it was also not wanting to impose a long, cold journey to the visitor cabins on the polite Japanese boy, who would surely insist on accompanying him. Yet, Valya spoke the truth. It was faster and more considerate this way, but the biggest reason was challenging himself to get stronger right in front of Ginyami. The thrill was too enticing to deny.
As the kind fox helped him out of the room and around the corner of the hall, Valentin visualized what it would be like to have Ginyami on the quidditch pitch with him. On a warm spring day after Val took on too much enemy aggression, wouldn’t it be nice for the Mahoutokoro boy to pick him up out of the grass and shoulder him, just so, on their way to the bench? With pain in hist chest, he wondered how it would be, picking apart strategy aloud as they sat and watched the team together. The ache began to spread, but Val had to block the oil spill. To let himself keep going like that would deny giving all of himself to this moment, as Ginyami deserved. Thudding softly against the wall, Valentin focused on the fox’s dark eyes.
“I'm only doing what anyone else would in my shoes.”
“You’re not just anyone. Besides, I don’t know anyone who wears shoes like yours.” Anxiety over the task ahead began to boil inside him, although he felt a little better seeing the other’s arms outstretched. “One day I’ll make this all worth it to you. Small price to pay, I promise.”
“It is not a price at all to have the opportunity to remain in your company. You have already made this experience more than worth it to me. All I ask for is that you get better and prioritize your health a little more.” The seeker was not fragile, but Ginyami was right in more ways than he could yet know: Val was prone to getting hurt. The unsmashable pouch was a fundamental piece of Valentin’s kit, as action and the unexpected tended to break out wherever the daredevil went. He had to be ready if danger lurked just around the corner because he was so eager to embrace it on behalf of others. Now, for Valentin to hear that Ginyami wanted to stay beside him and required that he take better care of himself… well, this was the only way to make Valentin slow down and think about his actions. The request was common enough, but its power came from the possibility of remaining together: the only games Valentin played were ones with lasting stakes.
“Please, if you could remind me, when you’re around… I’ll do even better.” It was hard to make promises about involuntary actions like forgetting. Yet, for Ginyami, Valentin wanted to do better. Could he really hope to keep the black-haired youth close in his life, though? Only a month ago, his long-time friend Mikael told Val he never wanted to see him again, layered atop an even greater wound from Romeo’s rejection. Valya believed in forevers and always, but he now knew better than to assume that others did, too. The source of the deathly tar in his heart was putting power over him into the hands of others who would break him. Still, the closer they got, the more someone influenced Val’s behaviors when no one was looking. Even if he couldn’t promise Ginyami here, Valentin would later think about what he’d said – many times. Now, with the fox’s dark eyes holding him in their sway, Valya yearned for the challenge of granting the boy’s wish here… even if it meant fighting off terror.
“I want you to do it, please. Feed me… It will help. If I choose to make it even scarier myself, it feels like I control the fear.”
Ginyami observed the seeker who, concealing none of his vulnerability from him, undid his coat to grant the fox access to his pocket. Valentin’s heart pounded, his amethyst eyes unblinking as if maintaining an unbroken pull on Ginyami’s, as he wove the fear into power. The urge to run transformed into a burning need to stay: I decided to do this – I have to show him how strong I am when it really matters. A flush brightened his alabaster cheeks and lips as Val watched the boy’s hand reach out and slide into his pocket. There was something about this boy, but he couldn’t find the word for it. He remembered this feeling from the practice room, but he couldn’t put his finger on it yet. Eyebrow flickering, the seeker closed his keen eyes, not wanting his empyreal gaze to be the reason for Ginyami’s care, and entrusted himself blindly to the kitsune. With his lips parting slightly to accommodate the entry of the first grape into his mouth, Val felt stifling heat despite his coat laying half open. The sudden movement of air passed through his hair, accelerating his breathing, only for more time to elapse.
Seconds piled on seconds as Valentin wondered at the cause of the delay. Was Ginyami displeased at his fear? Had he finally become repelled by Valentin’s base, animal need to eat? It’s all too intimate, isn’t it, scrambled the seeker’s thoughts like fighter jets. A pout began forming on Valya’s face as he decided he had been rude to impose this on the refined, dangerously kind Japanese boy. I’ve asked for too much, haven’t I? I knew it. All because I wanted to be brave, going and exposing my hunger to someone so elegant. Tsch. White is a good look on him, too. Now here I go sullying everything, bloody-lipped jock who can’t help but wrestle in the dirt. I should have remembered better why I try to never eat in public; it always turns into a disaster. Now I really will spoil his evening –
"...Yes, hello, may I help you?" Ginyami’s voice snapped Valentin’s eyes open, and the seeker saw the fox’s narrow eyes looking away. "Either of you?" Valentin’s head bolted to look and there stood his friend, Kim, with his fanged mouth agape. After their summer correspondence where Valentin clarified why his feelings about his fan, Sophia, could only ever be platonic, it was only natural for Kim to draw the conclusions written all over his face. Yet, trapped by his fear, Val could only interpret that look one way, as with that of Hiro’s.
What have I done? Their faces… their horror. This is why I never eat in public. Stribog, help me. I’ll go fast enough to win, I swear. I know I’m a bigger target in the sky now, but I can’t help it. I have to eat. Even the seeker has to eat. Why did I have to grow so tall, making me eat more than ever… Ughh! I feel so filthy… With an apprehensive glance back at Ginyami, Valentin took a deep breath. The lovely vulpine curves of his face calming him, Valya blinked slowly. I said I was going to show him I’m strong under pressure. This will only make me shine brighter.
“Kim. Tone. I knew the day would come that I’d see you together in the same room. What brings you boys out here when there is such a charming party to enjoy inside?” Valentin wasn’t sure how well the two knew each other, but would it have been so unusual if there was something between them he didn’t know about? Pushing himself away from the wall to shrug off his goblin king coat and hang it over his left arm, Valentin’s boots clacked as he stood up to his full 5’11” height. Even without the coat, his white V-cut tunic was still iconically “goblin king.” Valentin smiled back at his friends, putting one arm over Ginyami’s shoulders. Even as strength and grace reclaimed the captain’s demeanor, the irrational fear inside Valentin urged him to protect the boy at his side. The only indications of Valya’s suppressed anxiety were the solid grip of his fragrant leather glove and the shine in his mithril gaze. Such eyes were those of a wolf not intending to share its dinner.

────────────────────── ㅤ
ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was time for the bash to start! Earlier, Hiro had gotten a higher year to use the hair color-changing spell on him, to obtain striking white hair. After all, white hair with his zombie look would be a lot more striking than his current pink hair. The higher year had also promised to restore the color back to its usual pink afterward too. Hiro was looking forward to seeing what people thought of his chosen costume. He didn't really know the person who was supposed to have organized the bash but he'd heard about him from others. Apparently, he was known as the Prince of Sweets by lots of students. Did that mean the edible stuff, referring to being sweet by nature, or attractive boys and girls as being his 'sweets'? Hiro wasn't entirely sure which one it was but regardless, he'd be able to make contact tonight and see for himself what this Kim was like. It was a party, right? That in turn meant lots of people would show up and Hiro would have a chance to meet and become friends with a bunch of them! What could he lose? From the poster on the bulletin, the white haired boy knew where to go but it wasn't as if he tended to go up here a lot. So, it didn't come as a surprise when he ended up getting a little lost. But he had faith in his navigation abilities. He'd find the way to the ballroom. After all, he'd been there before. It had been where the Blossom Ball had been held earlier that year, right? So he'd been there once before. Hiro rounded the corner and abruptly came across a scene that he'd never expected to see but found it highly amusing, considering how Yami had consistently denied being attracted to the other male. The fact that Yami's hand had been sliding down into Val's shirt, as the latter started to breathe heavily with what could have been -------, and how Yami had reacted to getting caught in the act... The boy had even shut his eyes for a brief moment, perhaps regretting that Hiro had been able to catch him like this? All these thoughts and more roamed through Hiro's mind. However, Yami quickly recovered and directed a pointed remark at him, along with a look. It was then that he realized there was someone else there too. From the look of it, someone who was heading for Kim's bash too, since he was dressed in some kind of vampire outfit. It wasn't a bad look either, the costume was pretty decent. But back to Yami. Hiro knew that look well, as Yami tended to give it to him all the time, and a faint smirk came to his lips. So that was his game! He hadn't known his interest in Val was actually based off real feelings, that is up until right now. Of course, he'd support him. "Oh no! You look like you're managing quite well by yourself!" Hiro said, giving Yami a pointed look. "I'm sure you want us to leave you two to your own devices. It doesn't seem like my help is needed right now, let's go Kim! We should leave them to make out in private. I mean, excuse me, spend some quality time together without interruption!" Hiro teased as he closed the short distance between the two and came over to wrap his arm around Kim's own and dragged him off. Yes, he'd support Yami. But that didn't mean he wouldn't tease him about it at the same time! The zombie boy let his dark eyes flicker over the other male. So this was the host, the one called Kim. Hiro wouldn't have known that if Val hadn't called them both by names. The zombie glanced back over his shoulder once more when Val spoke and grinned at him. "Let's chat inside when you come back! You're coming back, right? I'll track you down if I don't see you again at the bash!" Hiro told him and then returned his attention to Kim again, dragging him back towards the bash and the ballroom the other boy had left earlier. "I'm a bit late, what did I miss?" Hiro asked, as they entered the room. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Ginyami's words made Kim blink. Right. He'd let his imagination get carried away for a moment. The boy cleared his throat and was about to speak. Until Ginyami's words made his brow furrow. Either of you? Wait, that meant... there was someone other than him there now? Kim turned to see a Japanese student standing nearby too. Somehow, he hadn't seen him before. Wow, his senses must have gotten pretty bad since the incident. The orange haired student's lips parted to speak but before he could do so, Hiro beat him to the punch. From the sound of it, the boy knew one of the others. Wait, that wasn't quite right, he knew both of them. Tone. It was a confusing name and didn't give him any particular answers. It could have been Japanese, which implied he would have come from Mahoutokoro. Just like Ginyami. But at the same time, it could also have been American, which implied he could be from any of the other foreign schools. Just because you were Asian didn't necessarily mean you came from Mahoutokoro and vice versa. Take a look at Mathias Pride. He used to hail from Hogwarts and now went to Mahoutokoro. As Valentin spoke to him, addressing both of them actually, Kim glanced over at Hiro. So Vale knew him too. "I just needed to get some air for a few minutes. There are too many bodies inside. I wasn't exactly expecting so many people to come." He confessed and was about to speak again when Hiro suddenly grabbed him by the arm out of nowhere. "Tone?????" Kim exclaimed as he looked down at the other male. What was he doing to him? The orange haired boy had never liked being touched before. Not in any situation. Much less by someone he didn't know! Kim didn't even like it happening with people he knew. "Eh? Wait - what are you doing!" He protested as Hiro dragged him off towards the ballroom. Kim looked back over his shoulder at the two boys, who might or might not have been together, and then back over at Hiro. He really didn't know what to make of this boy who had gripped him quite firmly by the arm. As Hiro asked him a question, Kim blinked as they entered the ballroom. "Um... not much. Everyone just grabbed refreshments so far to get settled a bit." "Oh and they also participated in a strange dance. The highlight of the evening is going to be a spider game I'm setting up soon." He told him and Hiro's face brightened at the idea. "Ah, really? Sounds like fun!" The boy said and Kim looked down at Hiro's hand that was still latched around his arm. "Uh, can you let me go?" He asked and Hiro grinned up at him. "Oh, right! Sorry about that! I just wanted to make sure Yami and Val got their private time. I didn't know if you were thinking of staying out there or not." The zombie boy told him and Kim nodded. Even if Hiro hadn't been there, he would have left them alone anyway. After all, they'd gone out for some privacy. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Thrills & Chills Bash
“You make me want to push my limits. It’s exciting.”
As glad as Ginyami was to hear it, he also grew somewhat concerned. He recalled what Valentin said about becoming dangerous and he wondered if this was part of what he meant; that by wanting to push his limits, he could become a danger to himself. Eating was one thing, but what if he tried to push his limits in ways more detrimental to him? If he had already had a couple brushes with death, the future did not bode well. I'll just have to keep an extra close eye on him, then, he thought, recalling how Valentin had also asked him to take care of him.
“You’re not just anyone. Besides, I don’t know anyone who wears shoes like yours.”
He had to smile at that, especially the last comment, amused by its dual meanings. But to be told that he wasn't just anyone by someone so famous and beloved by his fans was heart-warming. He wasn't sure what Valentin thought made him different from anyone else who admired him and wanted to please him, but he felt lucky to be considered separate from the rest. Special. He just had to be extra careful not to allow himself to get carried away by the feeling. At any moment, Valentin could change his mind, find out what he was really like, or grow bored with him. He had to be prepared for those possibilities and watchful for them.
“Please, if you could remind me, when you’re around… I’ll do even better.”
Then I shall have to remind you every chance I get, he pondered, his mind wandering back to what, exactly, had been so special that it had caused Valentin to grow so weak while concentrating on it for...what, a matter of days? But the Durmstrang student had said he could tell him more when they were truly alone, so Ginyami simply had to be patient.
Especially when they discovered they had yet to be 'truly alone'.
"...Yes, hello, may I help you? Either of you?"
"Oh no! You look like you're managing quite well by yourself!" Hiro had exclaimed, strengthening Ginyami's desire to throw something at him. This couldn't have been doing anything to improve Valentin's already-suffering mental state. But to the fox's surprise, after an anxious glance his way and a deep breath, the goblin king took up his mantle once more with all the grace and elegance he'd demonstrated previously.
“Kim. Tone. I knew the day would come that I’d see you together in the same room. What brings you boys out here when there is such a charming party to enjoy inside?”
The selection of words was impeccable, his manner and pose sublime, and his brilliant smile unparalleled. But Ginyami didn't like it. He didn't like to think about what it was probably secretly costing the costumed king. He was amazed by the valiant effort and touched by his protective demeanor, but he put a hand on the leather glove curled about his shoulders and squeezed it meaningfully. He could only hope Valentin didn't have to keep up his facade for long.
"I just needed to get some air for a few minutes. There are too many bodies inside. I wasn't exactly expecting so many people to come." the boy who was now confirmed to be Kim explained.
He might have been about to say more, but Hiro cut in then. "I'm sure you want us to leave you two to your own devices. It doesn't seem like my help is needed right now, let's go Kim! We should leave them to make out in private. I mean, excuse me, spend some quality time together without interruption!"
Hiro's sudden claim of Kim's arm caused its owner to question his peer's unforeseen behavior. "Tone?????"
"Let's chat inside when you come back! You're coming back, right? I'll track you down if I don't see you again at the bash!" the Mahoutokoro student called to Valentin before disappearing back into the ballroom.
"Eh? Wait - what are you doing!" Kim continued to protest as he was dragged away, looking back over his shoulder at the older students before returning his attention to Hiro, apparently quite bewildered by him.
Soon, though, both underclassmen were gone, leaving Valentin and Ginyami alone in the hallway once more. The latter exhaled deeply, not having realized he had even been holding his breath or at what point he had started doing it. Then he turned back to his companion, a twinkle in his dark eyes but the rest of his features stoically serious. Kim's and Hiro's intrusion had given Ginyami an idea.
If his pulse is going to spike anyway, might as well see if we can't do something about making it somewhat pleasant...
"Valentin...have you kissed anyone before?" he asked solemnly. "I assure you, I do not ask out of idle curiosity." Ginyami added, his countenance emanating the severity of the situation.

Thrills & Chills Bash
Ginyami looked perturbed, like he wanted to throw something at Hiro. Although Valentin greeted the pair of onlookers with cordial decorum, clutching Ginyami’s shoulder conveyed a meaning that the sharp fox wouldn’t miss. Placing his hand on Valentin’s glove and squeezing it, Ginyami sent a signal of his own. Valentin closed his eyes for a moment, breathing deep as he nodded with a smile. He wouldn’t push himself too hard. It felt good, the subtlety and care of the reminder. Gestures like these were among Ginyami’s most characteristic, and most beautiful. Besides, the fox was speaking in Valya’s native language, and the seeker liked it this way. It felt like home, for this was the way he communicated with his team, dearest ones, and rare enemies: physically. He had always been this way, even as a little boy “niffler.”
With Hiro’s words making his interpretation of the scene crystal clear, Valentin loosened his grip on Ginyami’s shoulder. First, it was a relief that neither Hiro nor Kim seemed to be thinking about the seeker’s food problems, but also Valentin didn’t want to make Ginyami feel restrained under such scrutiny. Now that he thought about it, Hiro had a point about how the scene must have looked. The frost captain took in the information with an amused smile backed with genuine warmth. However embarrassed a normal person would be at Hiro’s suggestive language, Valentin was glad that this had nothing to do with his public eating anxiety. Instead, he found the insinuations cute and was more concerned about his companion’s feelings. Looking back at Ginyami’s face, Valentin decided to be sparing with his words. There was nothing to gain by protesting. Hiro asked if they were coming back, and Val nodded with a simple tilt of his head. Kim just seemed to be along for the ride, at least, until Hiro started dragging him away.
“See you soon, Tone. It will be alright, Kim,” bade Valentin with a chuckle, noticing how awkward it must have been for the Korean to be handled so gruffly. It was Valentin’s nature to watch people, and he had long since concluded that Hiro and Kim were opposites in how tactile they wished to be. Watching them leave, Valentin squeezed Ginyami’s shoulder before letting go, and the dark-haired boy exhaled with the release of held breath. Restraining his feelings to be polite, Valentin concluded about the fox’s silence. Hoping that he had done right by Ginyami by not speaking up, Val laid back against the wall to recover from the stress of the encounter. He still felt a tingling from the touch on his glove after stepping away, but a wash of lightheadedness crept in and passed like a tide as his adrenaline began to subside. Ginyami turned to him with a serious face, then, but Valentin couldn’t help but smile curiously at the twinkle in his dark eyes.
"Valentin...have you kissed anyone before? I assure you, I do not ask out of idle curiosity." The boy’s solemn countenance struck Valya first, sending a shockwave through him like an earthquake before the meaning of the words crashed into him like a tsunami. Valentin’s arms lowered slowly, and then with a clap, his long coat fell to the ground. His ears buzzed with the amplifying pounding of his heart as Valya stared, frozen, back into Ginyami’s eyes. Was this why the fox had not responded about what he saw in the crystal?
Valya’s mouth fell open, and a pulse of heat from the center of his chest flooded through him as the corners of his eyes curled upward with shock. It was fast. He hadn’t expected… yet, it felt like a warm spring breeze was here, melting him at the corners after months of being left freezing in the cold. A waft of synaesthetic music came to Valentin with imagery of a moroznik Russian (морозник): frost flower– a white hellebore – in bold bloom despite snow-buried roots and the bitter chill of winter. The harmony repeated itself in his head as he remembered the toil he imposed on his team during bootcamp, making them go through three trials to recover a hellebore blossom from an ice cave. As the memory struck him, a laugh of joy and pain broke free from deep inside the frost captain. His eyes widened with delirious elation woven deep with sorrow, but the stream of laughter continued to flow from him as tears began to drop. Ginyami had only posed a simple question, but it was enough to blast apart the levee holding back Valentin’s suppressed emotions. The volatility within Val had already shone through the cracks earlier this evening, just as they had when they’d met. Now, after two years of trying to stay strong, Valentin’s walls were crumbling from the warring dragons beneath Vortigern’s tower within.
Valya didn’t mean to be rude with his laughing and crying. His truth was simply freeing itself in the only way it could. Everything was happening so fast, so wonderfully fast, Valya couldn’t help but be afraid of himself. Going too fast was how he crashed, especially in unknown territory. Yet, the rush called to him. If he could, Valya would go the speed of light. He wanted to feel sun inside again, warm and bright – he wanted to feel healthy and to not suppress the extremes inside him anymore. More than anything he wanted to lay down the constant guilt of not being able to show love. Valentin watched people, and he knew well enough that compared to others, even older individuals, the White Immortal was different. It was like he had romance for blood in a world where peoples’ veins ran with gray torpor. Trying to hold down the infinity within felt like death, and he couldn’t understand why most didn’t live like perpetual explosions. Were a lot of people actually like him, feeling this way but stalled because they couldn’t be free? He couldn’t tell. Week by week, in the cold of the night, old words circled through Val’s mind as a bright light burned invisibly in the dark, keeping him awake:
For Valentin the funny part was that, despite being surrounded by people he adored, no one had ever told him they loved him, other than his dead parents and his fans. Such words were as colorless as the white lilies he took to his room. Certainly people had their ways of showing Val appreciation. The niffler’s most prized possession was the golden ring Yefim gave him, and his friends were familiar with his love of physical affection. Yefim even gave him a piece of amethyst once, and it was mainly Fima’s little gestures that had sustained Valentin through the hardest times of his life. Yefim was like that, apricity, a sun even in times of winter. However much Valentin was actually a tool to him, Yefim took better care of him than anybody else. He deserved his title as champion. Still, their platonic relationship was beyond conventional descriptions and had its own unique form. Really, it was only with Yefim that Valya felt free to fully express his adoration, even as it never took a romantic shape. What did Valentin have? Friends. Beautiful, incredible, radiant friends. He loved them dearly. They were all he had. Yet, Valya moved the stars for no one.You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains.
You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines.
You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows.
This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.
The laughter and tears died out as Valentin gathered his composure again. With an apologetic smile at Ginyami, Valentin crossed his arms and squeezed himself to coax out a reply.
“Thank you for asking.” Taking a deep breath, Valentin dug his nails into his arms through his tunic, trying to focus as he stared into empty space. “Once, somebody gave me CPR, but I was unconscious for most of it, and when I woke up I was blind, hallucinating, and thought a wolf was chewing off my face. I don’t think that counts since it was involuntary. Another time, I kissed the golden snitch after winning a championship game. That probably doesn’t count, even though I consider the snitch to be animate… Otherwise, I once kissed someone on the cheek during a knighting ceremony. That’s all I can think of. As far as a proper romantic kiss on the mouth, no, I have never had that experience. I've never been in a relationship, actually.” Concentration melted back into a warm smile as Valentin looked up at Ginyami’s face. “How about you?”

Thrills & Chills Bash
Watching Valentin react to his question, Ginyami began to wonder if it had been a mistake to ask at all. No, he said to push his limits, he tried to reason with his guilt. It's for his sake I asked the question to begin with. He noticed the coat fall to the ground and quickly bent to collect it, his gaze never leaving the goblin king as he did so. But even as Valentin stared back, frozen stiff as if carved from ice himself, his jaw dropped and it was as though the question threatened to shatter him. A laugh was the first to escape those lips, but it was a sound resonating with profound emotion beyond just simple mirth; there was pain in it, too.
"Valentin...?" Ginyami uttered softly. What memories had his inquiry evoked? Perhaps it had at least been the wrong time to ask such a question when Valentin had already seemed so fatigued to begin with and he had just expended more energy putting up a front for the two younger boys. The laughter that continued only caused Ginyami's concern to evolve as it was soon accompanied by tears. He didn't know what to say. Such a display of raw emotion was more than he knew how to accommodate. All he could do was stand by uselessly with the coat draped over his arm, unsure of how to help the white seeker.
Eventually, however, the simultaneous laughing and crying subsided, leaving an apologetic smile in their wake. Crossing his arms, Valentin's first words were of gratitude; to thank Ginyami for asking, though the asker could hardly imagine why he would have been thanked. Still, he kept quiet, sensing his companion had more to say as a distant look came into those silver-hyacinth eyes. Once Valentin was finished, his radiant smile held the warmth of the sun as it came to rest on Ginyami. The Japanese boy blinked before smiling feebly back.
"I have never kissed someone nor been in a romantic relationship before, no," he stated, shaking his head slightly. "But the reason I asked was in the hope we could find a better way for you to eat. As you are not keen on having eyes on you while you eat, I thought...well, if perhaps I could feed you through a kiss, you might feel a bit better about it. Kissers don't usually have their eyes open as I understand it, so there would be no one to watch you." He plucked a grape from the inner pocket of the coat laid over his arm.
"I asked if you had kissed anyone before because if you have not, I didn't want to take your first kiss. Ah...unless, that is, you wouldn't consider feeding you a real kiss any more than having CPR," he added, looking thoughtful. "Though even with my lack of experience with kissing, I would hope it would at least be more pleasant than feeling as though your face was being chewed off." He beamed playfully at that.
"What do you think, your Highness? If you would rather not, I understand. I only wish to make this as easy on you as possible, so if feeding you by hand would be what you prefer, I can still do that." Ginyami held the grape up delicately between his thumb and index finger.
