Library's are confusing... open Closed

Gavin would always prefer the outdoors, but libraries were enjoyable as well. He loved wandering through the aisles back home, finding books that caught his fancy. He found enjoyment in the mystery of never knowing what you were looking for. However, he didn't usually get the same opportunities at Hogwarts. He was more focused on making sure he could get his schoolwork done, really. Wanted to get good grades and all that. Thus, It was both rare and special that he found this chance to look at the Hogwarts library.

However, it seemed that his fortune had ebbed a little. The blonde was startled suddenly by an irritated voice. Something about hating libraries? It was a few aisles over, he noted, but since whoever it was wasn't terribly quiet about it, he could hear clearly enough. It was only slightly muffled by the shelves around them.

Well, if there was one thing he hated about this library, it was the infuriatingly tall shelves. He would never find books if they were somewhere he couldn't even see.

Gavin shook his head before going to where he'd heard the voice. He had no reason to, but who knew what he'd find?

Peeking his head around to the right aisle, Gavin's eyes immediately locked onto a boy. He was wearing a white shirt and black jeans, plus a jacket, although Gavin didn't really think it was needed in the library. Maybe he was biased. He camped in the woods in winter with his mother at least once a year.

The boy was wandering aimlessly as he popped a piece of candy into his mouth, expression sour. He doubted the candy was the cause, especially if this was the same person who had been talking about hating the library before.

He decided to make his presence known. "Lost?" he queried, voice level despite the wicked grin on his face. He didn't plan to be mean to whoever this was, but it was still pretty funny to him.

Well, it was better to be lost in the library than lost in the woods.

I loved the library. Inside, it was one of my favorite places in Hogwarts. Besides the ballroom, maybe. I loved the vast, endless collections of books that there were, each and every one of them. It was huge, and it was the only place where I could skip around all throughout the endless rows of books without somebody randomly spotting me...mostly. I was in the library instead of outside since I probably had a cold by now from being outside so much in this chilly weather. I walked along the many rows of books, trying to find one that seemed interesting enough to read. Instead, I heard somebody mutter, "Stupid, stupid library..." Well that got my attention. I was ready to shoot back at whoever this mysterious figure was, on behalf of the library. I swiveled around and saw a boy, a 1st year Hufflepuff that I recognized from the common room, but couldn't remember his name...he didn't seem to notice me. He popped a piece of candy into his mouth as he looked around. Then another voice that I couldn't pinpoint exactly said, "Lost?" It asked. It sounded quite familiar like I knew the person it belonged to, but who? But if the Hufflepuff boy who had called the library stupid was indeed lost, that would explain his frustration. I mean, I got lost everywhere I went, including the Hogwarts library. I started to walk towards the boy. As I did, I saw the person whose voice I couldn't pinpoint, and I recognized them. It was a Ravenclaw boy who I'd met in the courtyard. "I remember you! Gavin, was it?" I said. Then I turned to the Hufflepuff boy. "Do you need help with something?" I asked him.

He was sure that no one had heard what he said about hating library's, That was until someone spoke to him. André turned around to the person who the voice belonged to. They had a massive grin on there face. André felt as if this guy thought he was superior to him.

This made him stand up straighter then before, Showing him that he was taller then him. "So what if I'm lost?" He told more so asked him. "This place is like a maze anyone would get lost" He shrugged as an after thought.

Then another person walked up, this time a girl. She called the boy Gavin. 'Must be his name', André thought to himself. She looked a bit under the weather with a red nose, and some heavier clothing. When she addressed him asking him if he needed anything. "I umm... Yes. I do need some help..." he figured he might as well admit it. It would get himself out of this mess quicker. He just hoped that they would be nice enough to help him. "I'm a bit lost?" He admitted.
Normally he wouldn't but he really want out of here, out of here and to the lake. That was a simple place, were he could tell were he was. As the lake was so big.

When Gavin asked the other boy if he was lost, he said that anyone could get lost. That wasn't always true, even though I have gotten lost in the library way too many times to count. Sometimes, it was actually fun to get lost, I'd discover a whole new section of books that I never saw before. Of course, getting lost could sometimes be annoying too, I guess, especially when there was a certain book or section you were trying to find but couldn't. Though, normally, I got lost everywhere, including here..."I umm... Yes. I do need some help..." I smiled. I liked helping people, especially when they really needed it...ignore that last part. "Alright then. What do you need to find? I can try and help you with it, I mostly know my way around the library by now... Emphasis on mostly. I had spent a lot of my time navigating the library and, well, doing that thing that people usually do in libraries, reading. Of course, because the Hogwarts library was so massively vast(which made me so happy), it had taken a while to find the books I wanted to read, a collection of muggle and wizard books. And even though I wasn't some library assistant who only "mostly" knew her way around the library, I was willing to help this boy and show him just how not-stupid and just how awesome this library was...but I didn't say that aloud, of course.

Gavin stifled a laugh as the boy straightened up a bit, looking indignant. "Well, I can't say I've gotten lost here, but it is a bit hard to find books..." he said lowly, perhaps too quiet even for the other boy to hear.

He would have probably said something else, but before he could, a slightly familiar Hufflepuff first-year seemed to manifest before them. "I remember you! Gavin, was it?" she questioned. Gavin nodded, taking in the heavier clothing and the reddened nose that she was sporting.

"Right. Aurora, correct?" He was pretty sure her name was Aurora. At the very least, he should be able to remember the name, since he hadn't met many people. His own fault, really. He was the one who didn't interact with them.

Internally, Gavin sighed. It wasn't the time for mischief, he guessed. And he'd spent time in there as well, so no matter how hard the BOOKS were to find, he was at least familiar with the sections. "I know the sections if you need any extra help," he contributed.

As he said that, though, his attention was already drifting to the books around the little group. Hm. He always found interesting titles. The question was, was the content interesting?

Carefully navigating in order to not hit anybody or anything, he drew a book from a place about a foot away and began reading over the summary, keeping his ears peeled for any interesting information.

André could have sworn the boy he assumed was called Gavin had said something, but he said it fairly quite. "Did you say something?" He asked. As André watched the interaction between the two others, he inferred the girls name was Aurora.

Aurora claimed to know how to navigate the maze of paper, and that she could help. And Gavin said that he knew the sections. By now the candy he had was pretty much gone. Sadly... "Thanks for the offers for help, Gavin, Is it? I was looking for a book on Transfiguration, its kinda interesting.." He looked from Gavin to Aurora with the last part, maybe she could help to.

He looked at the ground, not liking asking for help. André was one to try and solve things himself. Alas even he knew when it was time to admit defeat. If he was in a tv show, the library would be the big bad villain and André would be a civilian caught within its grand master plan.

Soon he looked up, "You think this place would have a map, or some sort of marks of the floor to show you right? With how big it is" he laughed.
