Future for our Characters!

Of course, this kind of change is natural in kids --- we all grow and evolve in personality and relationship. Some of us faster than others!

It would be more difficult if you wanted to change her suddenly and fundamentally into sociopath, I think Index would have a problem with that because it doesn't fit!

The only thing I'd love to change for Colin is Liam's death. (Well, to be honest, I'd love to change that for me.)

When did this happen I vaguely remember this... but not really...

To be honest I do understand why people feel the need to deactivate. Like me, for example, this is my first time Role Playing. When I got here I had no idea about what would I find, or what was expected for me to do with my character. So I've created Irina in like...10 minutes? Maybe if it was today I would had made something a little more different in what concerns to her family background! But then I've found a way, turning her into a werewolf...that was the key for me to create a more interesting dynamic and more "things" to work with. Of course I'm a lucky girl here, because I've found the Snek Squad, I know it was a shot in the dark that turned out to be like winning the lottery here! I honestly can't imagine "losing" one of them at this point! I hope all of the characters that had met or will meet Irina feel comfortable enough for owl me, the writer, if they ever need for help in changing their characters and feel that Irina could help in that.

Also I feel kind of heartbroken knowing that leaving the site and the community, even if not definitely, let you guys feel apprehensive about with who to start a relationship with your characters...it totally makes sense that you feel that way and I'm not really looking for experiencing that personally! However I know sometimes we can find dead ends for our characters story and it turns out to be more difficult to continue.

There's also another important factor I think...that is people here can start writing at a really young age, and the author himself is growing up and becoming more mature and experient with his/her writings and own personality...so it's normal that they feel the urge to write something better or that now reflects better their ideals and expectations.

I'm just going to finish my opinion repeating that I'm here to help in every ways I can the ones who what to change and the ones that are keep staying here!

Yup, I agree with you! But it also makes sense that you learn and grow with your character. Like in real life. You make mistakes and wish you'd done things differently but you can't go back in time and have a redo. So you learn, grow and change. Therefore, why can't you do that with your character on HiO too? I mean that's just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it or do what I say, just trying to give thoughts out here. No offense intended, if you don't like what I say please ignore it! Thank you!

Uh...are you talking to me @Kim Sato? If so, of course I'm not offended! Why would I? I was doing the same, writing my thoughts about the subject. I agree that everything is an opportunity given, if we manage to create from it. I personally like the factor "surprise", even during threads! I don't like to have everything planned...because exactly like life thing are more fun that way! Of course having a general idea of what to do and background material to work with is essential though! I was just saying that I understand both sides and their reasons!

No, I'm not talking specifically to you, just putting it there as a disclaimer as I suck at explaining things and people have misunderstood what I've said multiple times which caused me emotional pain. So whenever I give an opinion or tease/mess with others now I always make sure in my post I say 'this is my opinion, I do not mean to offend' or 'i'm teasing/messing with a friend and not being serious'. Just so no one misunderstands me. I was just going to stop doing both from now on but I felt as if I just clearly state my intentions while doing so I shouldn't have a problem. Hopefully that is.

Also, yup I agree with you! I see why some people tend to deactivate! But most problems can be fixed with your current characters on a general basis I think? Unless, like we both stated and Colin, it has to do with a background/history thing that you want to change. If it's just personality, House or stats, you don't need to deactivate for those reasons.

And you make a valid point here, Rina! This is not an easy RP forum to crack into. There's no way to ease into it. The way it's set up, you pretty much have to jump right in. I came into Hio with very little formal RP experience, and no real plan for Colin other than what I already knew about his family.

That said, I absolutely adore Rina as a character, and I think you're doing a great job with her! You're so fun to RP with, both here and in the Slytherin discord! And yeah, you and I are both lucky that the Snek Squad happened.

And, of course, this is just Hio mirroring real life. For me, and I think @Kim Sato would agree, I'm here for the writing. The idea of sharing adventure and creating this world for Colin and Irina and Kim and everyone to live in. Of making story together. It's very difficult to do this when you're uncertain that a potential RP partner isn't going to be there in a year or two years to say nothing of six or seven years!

@Colin McCoire thank you for all your kind words! I do feel lucky to get to know you and all the people here that have been helping me a lot to build a good character. It’s not just my doing, you all are writing Irina with me!

Since day one you have been here, always welcoming and sharing great ideas! Not only Colin had guided Irina through those adventures, you OOC had also helped me a lot, and I’m extremely grateful to you and to your work!

Becoming Colin’s wolf sister was my own way to contour those initial difficulties. And I’m glad I’ve made that change cuz now there’s so much to explore and to create! Is amazing!

I’m always waiting to be found by the Snek Squad and I’ll be right after you if needed! Love all of you guys!
