With each passing minute, Haley found it harder to stay on the broom, moreover it felt as if the game was going on longer and longer without them making any progress. She had lost all sense of feeling or reality and didn't really know what was going on. The bludger still hung deep in her bones. But Haley had to keep focusing on strategy, a strategy that was not her favourite. It was actually her job to score points, but today seemed different. Once again she lashed out and chased a bludger at Atlas. It was especially hard on the girl because she had a place in her heart and when her hit hit her, Haley squinted her eyes for a moment. "Damn. Sorry Atlas." She muttered softly, hating the game at that moment.

Pax let out another long breath they didn't realise they'd been holding as they swung their bat. The bludger flew right at Ethen, hitting him nicely and even ricocheting to Howard. However, neither were quite strong enough to knock them off their brooms.

They'd hoped Marshal would be able to continue the good job they'd done, but it seemed he was a little out of it. Akari, too, considering she hadn't even begun her penalty lap.

"Akari! Marshal! Come on, heads in the game!"

Finnegan grit his teeth. Five times in a row Howard had snatched the quaffle before he could even get to it. Beating their keeper would be challenge enough, but that required actually being in possession of the quaffle. He could only hope that George, or frankly anyone else for that matter, wouldn't remember him clawing at thin air for too long. It was downright embarrassing. Looking to Pax, he understood what his next move ought to be. This wasn't going to be pretty...

Finnegan would put up a tough fight for the Quaffle, but Howard's age and experience paid off as he was able to gain the upper hand. Five for five! It felt good to come out victorious, but part of him looked forward to seeing how the young Gryffindor developed. Hopefully they would stick it out for many seasons to come.

However, as quickly as success had come to Howard, so too would a bludger! He would wobble on his broom as he struggled to maintain his grip and in the end Howard would stay in the air, but there would be some bruised ribs to tend to later. Ethen too would survive the blow, but Atlas would fall to another Gryffindor foul. Sacrifice had paid off for the Badgers as they were now far ahead in points. If it would carry them through to the end would soon be revealed.

She could taste victory, it was flitting about right there in front of her and all she had to was reach out and grab it. That was the tough part especially when you had someone else with the same goal in mind, she was beginning to develope a newfound appreciation for the sport and the paces it put you through. The brunette knew the real thing would be nothing like the practice sessions, this had all the pressure and the determination of whether House Gryffindor would be able to make it out with a win riding on it. As she plunged downwards with the other Seeker flying close behind, he was the first one to veer off predicting an imminent collison with the grassy ground below. Elena's boldness and perhaps spurred by motivation had her descending for a bit longer before deciding to pull away sharply as the Snitch danced just out of reach keen to fall into one of their hands, they'd almost had a close call there but this time, she wouldn't let it evade her or at least that was what she kept telling herself.

Things appeared to be quickly becoming a bit dire for their team but Ethen still had faith that they could pull off the win. With the snitch still in his vision, Ethen got into an advantageous position to dive for the catch. As Ethen began to dive, he knew that he would be able to pull it off as long as nothing got in his way. Another bludger to the side, however, was a quick and easy way to force Ethen off his path as he reeled in added pain. Already hurting from before, his body now felt as if it was on fire and he struggled slightly to maintain focus. Out of the corner of his eye, Ethen watched as Atlas was blatched from her broom, further diminishing the already decimated team.

Knowing how painful it was to be tossed from the broom, Ethen couldn't watch Atlas' fall but grit his teeth through his own pain before turning his attention back to the snitch. They were coming down to the wire and he knew that he wouldn't survive another hit like the one before but he still had a job that he very much intended on completing.

Knowing that it was getting to the point in the game where they desperately needed the snitch grabbed, Atlas was keeping an eye on Ethen. Even with the lead in points, Atlas knew that didn't make them safe. She was confident she could block any attempts at scoring but there hadn't seemed to be that much interest in scoring from the other team. However they were quickly cutting down the Hufflepuff numbers which was growing increasingly concerning.

Switching her focus to being there for Ethen if he needed saving, Atlas desperately hoped that the reckless seeker would not in fact need her to swoop in at the last second. As she watched Ethen and readied herself for any potential save, she hadn't seen the approach from Haley as she was taken with a blatch. Atlas found herself suddenly plummeting from her broom and swiping at the air hoping to grab hold of something as the inevitable inched closer. She cursed herself for not noticing the foul play but there was nothing that could be done now. She knew no one was positioned to save her fall and that only left her team more vulnerable. But there wasn't much time to feel sorry for herself before the air was ripped from her lungs. The collision with the ground sounded with a thud as Atlas slowly writhed and groaned in pain. Delirious and frustrated, the downed keeper just hoped her team could hold out to the end. They still had a chance.

Keepers Catch
10% chance to automatically block an attempt to score a goal as long as the Keeper is in the goal area. If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a teammate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separate from the attack roll.

Her knee stopped bouncing, if only momentarily as more whoops from the Hufflepuff section were heard. Howard had scored more points for the team; they were up to 100 something now if she could recall? He was single-handedly giving her hope and she had a bunch of respect directed towards her teammate for continuously trying and he was yet to be knocked off his broom. Annie's body then jolted as a thud sounded nearby and a boo erupted from the same part of the stand that had just cheered. Crap it was a 50/50 chance that it was Atlas. Upon hearing the small groan, she identified the voice to her first-string partner. "Crap Atlas, they got you too? I'm sorry I'll try my best for you and the rest of our team." She mumbled before grabbing the broom that rested against the benches to her right.

Sure, she had been on her broom and practiced by herself, but this was only the second time she had to play in an actual match with her obvious sight disadvantage. Letting out a small breath she had been holding, she marched over to the field gripping the broom tightly. She'd swing herself over, seating herself comfortably and guided herself up towards the center. Waiting for the whistle signaling a new round, she shook her head of all the fears. The Gryffindor team wasn't being jerks, she had to stop calling them that. They were a solid team that had well thought out plans but if Hufflepuff had lasted just as long with only 3 players, they had to have some tricks up their sleeves too. At the thought, a brilliant smile lit up her face, all previous emotions dulling as courage coursed through her.

"Alright I'm ready, let's have some fun."

Sure Aurelia would support her team, but she was inevitably getting bored as her arse warmed the bench with each second that passed. Despite her own team taking down a multitude of Huffles, the badgers were impressive in their determination. "Lets bring home a win, Gryffindor!" Aurelia would cheer with the co-capt Ethan who, like her, was not in the skies.
