Potion Buddies
Billy hated to admit it, but she was feeling rather nervous for the potions class. Especially considering it was her first class too. It felt overwhelming. Last night felt quite nice! But here, when she was faced with the wrath of not knowing anyone. It left her rather stranded.
The blonde-haired girl walked slowly into the room, surprised by the rather cold air. Though, it was not anything she thought was bad once she got used to it. It gazed around, tapping her foot once or twice as she got a feel. It was a rather odd classroom to her. She couldn't put an opinion on it either.
Slowly, she moved on towards the seating, scanning the room carefully like a predator watching their prey. Billy blinked once or twice, her eyes landing on where a Gryffindor boy and another Slytherin first year were sitting. Well, she wasn't picky.
Billy made her way over, supplies in tow as she quietly sat down next to the brown-haired girl. She gulped slightly. Was she supposed to say something? But what was she supposed to say? Let alone, this was someone her age, how does she talk to people the same age as her again?
"...Hello." That was all she could muster out, giving a small smile to the girl before facing away to the front of the classroom.

Potion Buddies
Billy wasn't one to talk much, so it took quite a bit before she was able to respond to Lily. She bit her tongue, thinking of the words to say. But she was rather grateful for this girl. She seemed like the talkative type, able to hold a conversation when the other had a struggle doing so.
"Lily? That's a pleasant name. Were you named after the flower?" Billy asked, tilting her head. Flowers were something the blonde-haired girl knew much about, so it wasn't to much of a surprise that she brought it up. "I'm also a first year. My name is Billy Parker. It is...nice to meet you Lily Blaze."
Billy turned back to Lily, giving a small smile in response. This girl seemed rather nice, letting Billy relax just a little bit as she spoke. She internally sighed, fiddling with her fingers. Despite the release of tension, she couldn't help but still feel nervous. It was very easy to accidentally say something wrong, something to honest, without even realizing it. So Billy chose her words carefully, knowing that at any second that wire could snap and everything would go into flames. Billy knew she was overreacting a little bit, but it was better to be safe than sorry right?

Potion Buddies
Billy hummed in thought, smiling softly.
"I forgot that flowers have all sorts of meanings do they? The meaning behind that is rather beautiful. Oh! You just reminded me. My father has an old book in the attic that is a whole list of flower meanings, if you are interested I'm sure he would be more than happy to give it to you." That seemed to be what got her to start talking, but quickly snapped her mouth shut as she listened to her next observation.
Billy couldn't help but chuckle, shrugging softly. "I cannot say I'm surprised. It's a fairly common first and last name. It's very easy to run into someone with such a name isn't it?" She replied. She seemed to be opening up pretty easily, matching the other's attitude before perking up when the teacher began speaking.
Billy completely abandoned the conversation, completely focused on the lesson. She wrote pretty quickly, jotting down pretty much everything the teacher was saying. Sure, her hand was getting pretty sore, but that was alright.
Potions were something that fascinated Billy, but she wasn't entirely interested in the class compared to some others. Sure, potions can for sure help in the time of need, but would she willingly make a potion in her spare time? Probably not.
Still though, it was good to get as much knowledge as possible so she could at least succeed in Hogwarts.
During a small little break in the teacher's lecture, her eyes glanced towards Lily once more. "I suppose we are going to be partners for the rest of the year, correct?"
