Let’s Study!
Frankly, Ravenclaw didn’t have much house points. She said as she walked into the study room, hoping to finish some transfiguration homework. It wasn’t hard and she enjoyed the subject and the teacher… but it was just so… scientific! It didn’t seem… magical. It seemed more like something a muggle would study. Physics, as they called it. With all the atoms and neurons and electrons! No wonder she liked astronomy best. Yes, it was scientific, but not mind blowing. She sat down at a table and sighed. How she desperately needed to get things done!1-3 years please!
She flipped through her course notes absentmindedly and checked her textbook as well. It just wasn’t that interesting yet. She was supposed to learn the Whistle to Watch spell, which she supposed she had. Yet, she hated first classes. Nothing practical. She loved rules and introductions, but this was a bit over the top. She shifted in her seat to get out some parchment and her quill case. She started answering the first question. She did the second question, too. They were all quite easy. She glanced down at the list. There was no essay question, which was very convenient. She paused for a moment, for she felt a fellow student slip in next to her.

Let’s Study!
I didn't like to study. This was a fact. I never liked studying, and I never will. In place of studying, I pulled out a different book and put it on top of my studying textbook. Then I'd hold it up to my face and pretend to study. Clever, right? No? Well, I was going to the study room to "do homework". This was History of Magic homework, and I hated it. I try as hard as I can not to sleep during History of Magic, and in my next class, I crash down into a sleep so hard I might as well be absent from the land of the living. But no matter. I might as well skim over the homework, then do my best...the best that I can do when I skim over it, of course. I entered the study room to find somebody there. It was a girl who looked to be about my age sitting over paper and textbooks. She had dark hair and seemed to be concentrating hard. I slipped into the seat right next to her, opened the book I actually wanted to read, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, blew my hair out of my eyes, and started to read, but not before turning to the girl, clearing my throat, and whispering, "Hello," as not to disturb her too much.

Cynthia looked up. ‘Hello there. You know we can talk freely in the study room.’ Well, she hadn’t expected herself to say that. Quite bold, isn’ it? It was fun to be bossy and somewhat naive at school. It was fun to be her, even though she didn’t know the girl. Well, truth be told, she just liked toying with people. In her mind, Hufflepuffs were always the cutest. She had met one Hufflepuff before, but he was a prefect and considerably older than her. She studied her name tag, as all first years have. Aurora. A pretty name. She had red hair, dark green eyes and some freckles. Even though her accent was English, she looked a bit Irish and stereotypically so. The girl was trying to hide the fact that she was not doing homework and reading a book. Not a book she enjoyed, mind you, but she could sympathise. While she wanted best grades, she didn’t exactly like every subject on the whole entire Earth. ‘That aside, my name is Cynthia. And since I’m not in the mood to do this homework anyways, please do say something, if you want that. ’Ugh, transfiguration was horrid! She’d never thought she’d say this but it was! For all she know she might only get an A. Last time when she had gotten an E in potions, she had freaked out. Her interest lies mainly in astronomy. Other than that, she liked charms and history of magic. It wasn’t boring. Just because many people believe it is does not mean it is!

The girl looked up and said, "Hello there. You know we can talk freely in the study room." I felt like laughing a little, and I felt the tension in the air go away.. At my muggle school, when we were studying, we weren't allowed to talk at all. If we were gonna whisper, then the teacher couldn't hear us at all. Looks like those old ways were catching up to me! I didn't really like that at all"Oh, sorry! Old habits die hard, I guess," I said. "I'm Aurora, 1st year Hufflepuff," I added when I realized that I forgot to introduce myself. And then I realized that she probably knew that anyway, from my name tag. She introduced herself as Cynthia and said that she didn't feel like doing her homework. I could relate. It was not hard for me to get good grades at all, since I was a good student both here and in my muggle school. I usually put in the effort, but this, this, was my weak spot. I liked Charms, Astronomy, and Transfiguration, though. They weren't too bad. When my parents and Nanny found out that I had an O in Charms, they were so very happy. My mother had said that Transfiguration had been more her strong suit, but she didn't dislike Charms either. I eventually put my History of Magic homework back in my bag and turned to Cynthia. "Well...what homework are you doing?" I asked.

‘I would assume that is the library, Aurora.’ She chuckled under her breath. ‘If we were talking in the library, Miss Simmons will probably give us detention or something. She’s the librarian, if you don’t know.’ She glanced over at Aurora. ‘I’m trying to do transfiguration homework. I hate to gripe, but it is hard and I detest the subject as well. For me, I really enjoy astronomy and I want pursue a career in the subject. So, what about you? What careers do you want to pursue, Aurora? So, anyways for transfiguration, well, it just doesn’t speak to me.’ She would rather talk with this girl than do homework. ‘You know how my ouse points are so low right now. By all means I don’t want to do homework, but I kind of have to do a lot for my house. Still, I’m trying to save some up, because I want to get the rewards where you plan the activities. Those seem interesting to say the very least.’ She shifted in her seat. To bring out an inkwell from her bag. Her quill was dry and that made it very hard to write. She sighed. She would have to tackle homework, sooner or later it doesn’t matter.
