Aurelia Vs Howard Finished

Aurelia went approached the space where the dueling was about to commence. The girl had never been to the dueling club before. It was her first time and she had saw the other prefects dueling as an example, it definitely looked nasty. She really didn’t want to lose, but she knew that it was also by plain luck that she would win. She never had dueled before. Her head turned when she heard her name called. Professor Wright’s had pronounced her last name wrongly. She didn’t blame her, though it was a little agitating, her last name was quite a mouth full, no one had ever pronounced it right. They always pronounced it English and never pronounced it in Dutch which was the right way to pronounce it.

“Oh me?” The girl asked even though she clearly knew the answer to her own question. The brunette nervously walked up with her wand gripped tightly in her right hand.

Professor Wright explained the rules, it wasn’t hard at all to follow. The opponent she was facing was Howard White, if she had remembered correctly. He was a Hufflepuff. She bowed and turned around, step after step approaching the end of the room. Immediately after she reached her side she whipped her wand around, “flipendo!” She shouted. It was the only spell that came to her mind at the moment.

ACTION: cast Flipendo (neutral stance)

  Howie’s heart began to pound in his chest. What...me?! His mind raced as the situation dawned on him. When he had signed up he never actually expected to be called upon, he figured it would just be a good chance to watch some duels. What am I going to do! I only know a few spells...and none that make any sense in a duel! Maybe I should just run for it! The thought was tempting, but Howie knew he had to see it through to the end. He had signed up for it willingly, now it was time to face the consequences.
  Howie made his way up to the indicated spot and took his place. He gave his opponent and awkward bow and With a shaking hand he drew his wand and listened to the instructions. Taking a deep breath and steadying himself, he waited for it to start, praying to the gods it wouldn’t hurt too bad.
  Professor Wright called out to begin. Howie cast the first spell that came to mind. With a swish of his wand he yelled out, “MUCUS AD NAUSEAM!”

ACTION: Cast the Curse Of Bogies. Defensive Stance.
  

Shortly before Professor Wright had began to speak, Serena entered into the Duelling Club that she had become rather familiar with these past few weeks. She greeted the Herbology Professor with a firm nod of her head and a smile but otherwise remained silent to avoid disturbing the session. She had no idea how or why but Serena had somehow ended up being the Prefect who assisted everyone in their duels. She just ended up being called here and like the obedient girl she was, she appeared when summoned. She did not question the order, she just blindly followed. Perhaps she was far too trusting but for now, we'll say she was just a true Hufflepuff - incredibly loyal.

Moderating duels was not something she had expected or planned for but it was far better than some of the other duties. Detention, for example, was so incredibly boring. At least duelling provided some sort of engagement and interest. Whilst Serena hated to see people get hurt, it was good to help them become stronger. She knew far too well the dangers of not being strong enough. Learning to duel was essential. It was something she never once believed in before. But since the dreaded night of the Hufflepuff Camp Out, she knew all too well and how important it was. One could never be too careful in this school.

Serena watched as the Professor pointed to a Gryffindor Girl and a Hufflepuff Boy. She did not call them by name, simply by house. So the Prefect stood there, baffled as to who they even were. There were several other students around the room. But it was spacious enough for multiple duels to take place. "I'll take these two," Serena muttered to Sorrel, as calmly as she could. Whilst she wasn't awful at Herbology, Serena was definitely a bit afraid of the scary Professor. Mostly, she was worried that she would accidentally drop one of Sorrel's beloved plants or step on it - and that would be a bad day. Luckily, that could not happen here... She might be okay, today.

Nervously standing there, Serena observed the two students that had been summoned as Sorrel walked off to watch over some of the other duels taking place. She watched as the two began their duel...

MODERATOR NOTE:
I'll be moderating your duel in place of Sorrel now. You do not have to reply to this. I'm simply posting this now because, if you want to edit your posts and change your action or stance with any new spells or anything then now is your chance to do so. I'll try to roll the results for this on Sunday [hopefully], so you have until then if you plan to make any changes.

The girl took a neutral stance and aimed at her opponent. Her flipendo successfully hit him square on the chest, causing him to do a backflip in the air and fall over. Ouch! That must have hurt him. But revenge came quickly for the boy, who had fired a spell that Serena had not seen in action yet towards the girl. It was the Curse of the Bogies and it did exactly what the name indicated it would. The Gryffindor girl would instantly feel sick. She would find that she had an extremely runny nose and a strong cold. There was no doubt that she would struggle further in the continuing rounds unless she managed to treat the cold. It was wearing her down and tiring her out, that much was for sure.

The boy had been winded but he was able to continue and the girl had been hit with a cold but it looked like she could still carry on. Serena watched silently as the duel continued. Time for the second round... It could have been the last round now... It all depended entirely on what tactic the students used...Each spell, each stance was important. They didn't know this know but the fate of the duel was in their hands alone...

Aurelia is hit for 220 damage and is down to 180 HP.
[Will suffer a 10 HP loss in the next round due to cold, unless treated]
Howard is hit for 205 damage and is down to 295 HP.
Duel continues...

Howie had been hit hard. Her spell was successful and thankfully it hadn't backfire. The boy flipped in the air and landed with a thud. Perhaps it was to successful. She would have to appologise to him later. They had been duel partners once before during one of the defense against the dark arts lessons but Aurelia had never cast flipendo at him that hard.

Before she could even register what was going on, Howie had cast the curse of the boogies towards her. Mucis began to roll down from her nose down to her upper lip. This wasn't the first time she had been cursed by the spell. Someone once pulled a prank on her and she had to be sent to the hospital wing. Aurelia began to feel tired she only had possibly a minute or more before she couldnt continue. She had to make it count.

The girl wiped the mucus with the sleeve of her robe but it didn't help much as the mucus continues flowing from her nose. Aurelia grumbled as she pointed her wand towards the Hufflepuff. She prayed that she wouldn't be sent to the hospital wing.

"Rictusempra!" She shouted, almost screaming as she waved her wand at the boys direction.

A familiar crack sounded throughout the room, a flash of light came barreling towards him. The jinx hit Howie like a ton of bricks. His vision spun as he was launched backwards, hitting the floor with a thud. Freaking Aurelia! She had done it again! He silently cursed her as he clutched his chest, gasping for air as the breathe was knocked out of him.

Howie pushed himself up, his eyes darkened as he experienced a very rare moment of anger and frustration, something quite unusual for the happy-go-lucky Boy. Why did she have to use that jinx on him? He had no way of knowing that she hadn’t meant to hit him so hard. Fine! You want to play rough, let’s have it! He thought to himself bitterly. Having caught his breathe, Howie stood up, casting a cold look in Aurelia’s direction. The pain in his chest and his mounting frustration got the best of him. He shifted his weight forward into an aggressive stance, raised his wand and shouted, “INCENDIO!”

Action: Cast Incendio/Agressive Stance

Serena watched the duel continue. The pressure of the match was getting more and more intense. The girl got more defensive as the boy got more aggressive. Not only did he take an offensive stance, he also picked one of the most painful spells. The question was, whose tactic was going to pay off? The Hufflepuff stood there, watching the two recover from their hits and launching a second attack. The boy lunged forward, attempting to launch an attack. His position made him more vulnerable to receiving more damage. This was unfortunate for him because the girl had managed to successfully cast a spell. Her tickling charm had him on the floor, laughing hysterically despite the pain. He got breathless and tired. Her attack prevented him from finishing off his spell, causing it to fail.

Breathlessly, he attempted to laugh. Serena quickly moved forward, holding out her hands to both partners, "Stop!" She called out, making sure to warn them not to continue firing spells. Looking down at the boy laughing hysterically, she silently observed him for a moment. After a moment, she walked to Professor Sorrel, spoke to her in whispers briefly for a moment before nodding and turning back to the pair whose name she had discovered to be Aurelia and Howard. "The winner of the duel is Aurelia," Serena announced to the room.

With that, she allowed the pair to compose themselves and addressed them directly, "You should get that cold fixed, Aurelia. It will remain until treated. And you ought to get some rest, Howard," Serena instructed the pair, "Make sure you visit the Hospital Wing if you need to. Congratulations on your win, Aurelia. Good attempt, Howard, you almost had it." Serena concluded with a nod before letting the pair of them depart the room and tend to their wounds.

Aurelia successfully hit Howard. She still has a cold. 
Howard failed to cast. Got hit by the tickling charm and took too much damage. 
Howard is no longer able to finish the duel due to low stamina.

Aurelia wins.
