The only reason I came up to, was because that maybe that way there wouldn't be humans at Hogwarts? RP as a special race or ability is far more fun! (at least for me) Maybe they didn't wanted to turn Hogwarts into the school of "monsters"! haha But this doesn't make it more fair to not be able to really use the inherent abilities of a race against humans by having less stats points!

Part-humans are supposed to be very rare, so the -5 stat points are partly there to put people off, as well as to balance out game mechanics

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn’t want to go for one of them unless I had a very particular story in mind for my character, just because they feel underpowered until they grow up and unlock the really good abilities.

I totally understand that, as I said before otherwise Hogwarts could become a school of monsters and obviously it wouldn't make sense! But still, I think it would be fair instead of taking all 5 points "lock" some of them in one of the categories! Anyway I'm happy with my choice of becoming a Werewolf even without the 5 points...honestly doesn't matter that much to me at least!

I think they should have put a disclaimer on the section though (I think it's there now since I brought up the matter in the past) where it states "If you pick this race or rare talent, you cannot become an Animagus later and you will be excluded from certain things that you might want to do later on because you will not be considered full human." And also state when you apply for abilities/talents/update your trunk etc... that if you want to be let's say a duelist, have a section in big letters say "Please know that wisdom is very important to be a duelist." I know it DOES state this in the actual area where it says what stat points mean, but for new people coming in they probably won't know where to find this (I was not aware when I first joined bc the site was huge and I didn't know where to find anything). And they might make mistakes like I did because I wasn't able to find them easily when I first joined until it was too late for me to change things.

I'm fairly sure that the link to that is in the registration and trunk updates threads, and we also have the mentoring program now which hopefully makes it easier for people to get started on the site

I think it is now but it wasn't back when I was first here I believe.
