─────The corners of her mouth tick upward in barely contained excitement at the prospect of the game as the group of participants gather at the Owlery. They really had spared no expense with the theme. Avery allows herself a brief moment to glance about at the other students before turning her attention back to her steadfast partner for the night. The whole night still seemed a little surreal to the Hufflepuff as she offers Edme a dazzling grin. Surreal in the absolute best of ways. Avery was sure her cheeks had held a rather consistent flush the entirety of the night so far. Not at all a difficult accomplishment when in the presence of the pretty Ravenclaw.

As the two groups were instructed to separate, Avery moves to follow the group designated as damsels. As she moves to join them, she walks backwards for a moment to offer Edme a quick wave before clasping her hands behind her back. "Best of luck! I'll be waiting for you," she declares with another quick smirk before turning and almost skipping to join the rest of the 'damsels'. She eyes up the people dressed as stereotypical storybook witches that appear to be kidnapping (escorting) them to the top of the tower.

Once they reach the top and are given their instructions for their first apparent task, Avery immediately shifts into game mode. Though she doesn't exactly exude it, there was certainly a sense of subtle competitiveness instilled in her at a young age. She usually chose to blame it on her siblings. The first year begins her search, carefully examining the room and doing her best to avoid any potential owl droppings. A potion. She could find that, surely. How hard could it be?

After finally finding River, Chiaki quickly realised that the game she'd signed them up for was fast approaching.

"Come," she gently beckoned the Beauxbatons' student. "We have a game to win."

It took her a little while to navigate her way to the owlery, since it was her first memorable time visiting the school. She ultimately ended up following the crowds that seemed to have a better understanding of the school's layout, reaching a tower. Upon arrival, she was instantly ushered away from River, to whom she shot a look of concern and hoped the message of 'Good Luck' was passed to her successfully.

Pushed into the tower, the only choice was to climb the steps all the way to the top of the tower. Chiaki kept one hand on the wall at all times, worried that she would trip or fall and make a fool of herself before the game had even begun.

As she emerged into the owlery, the rules began to be recited, and Chiaki nodded with understanding. The options were to simply sit and wait for rescue, or she could be proactive and do something to ensure her faster escape.

Remembering the mention of a potion, Chiaki set her head straight and began to consider where it could be hidden.

======================== It was time! Time for the Save Your Date game! Hiro had blissfully made his way down the path of delicious and no-so-delicious candy beans to eventually emerge into an area that had been sectioned off for the event to take place. After being informed by the organizers that it would be taking place up at the owlery inside Hogwarts, Hiro was even more excited about it. He hadn't actually had a chance to see that particular area yet and was looking forward to seeing the area. Hogwarts had gone out of their way to decorate the place and Hiro had to admit it looked absolutely fantastic. A rush of happiness pulsed inside him as he thought about how everything was turning out beautifully for the season. The only thing that could make things better was if Akira ended up feeling better. But he had Monica now and she was a lovely substitution. A very attractive and pretty one too. The two of them would win this game together, that was for certain. Those in charge separated them into two different groups and explained the rules of the game. Hiro glanced over at Monica and gave her a brilliant smile, happiness gushing out of his face. "Don't worry! I'll rescue you faster than the other pairs! You just focus on doing the same where you are!" The pink haired boy said with a grin and glanced over at those who guided him towards the spooky corn maze that had been set up before them. Wow, it looked great. "You know, these decorations are simply marvelous! Kudos to you all for putting together such a splendid display for everyone!" Hiro exclaimed, praising those who had set things up. The clock chimed, signaling the start of the race and Hiro immediately set off through the maze, lightly jogging as he took in his surroundings. There was no need to go extremely fast from the start, who knew what trials would pop up around him? He didn't want to fall into a trap. After a few minutes, he'd probably know a bit more about how this maze was set up and then he could increase his pace. Once he'd determined what kind of trials he'd be facing inside the maze.

Action: Finding Sherlock, arriving at the game and entering the maze. Trying to find her way out.

She'd relatively been enjoying her time at the Ball, except for the little interaction with a certain Durmstrang girl. Either way, happy or not, Agata had realised the time for proper games was fast approaching and so she had exited the courtyard, looking for her partner. She had promised Sherlock that she would be his partner. She hadn't seen him in the courtyard, where the main festivities were happening, and when she did find him, upon the candy-filled path, Agata gasped. He had been crying, still was, and Agata winced, hugging him. "It's alright friend. We'll win this game and make it better." She distinctly remembered something about a Puddlefoot? Whatever it was, Agata was sure it would make Sherlock feel better. Agata wasn't sure what had happened to the boy, but she was sure she would make it right. No matter how. But first, this game.

Reaching the tower, Sherlock and her decided together that she would be the rescuer and he the damsel. It fit, really, with their personalities. Being split up was to be expected, and Agata hoped the boy would be alright, what with his night obviously going awry beforehand.

As she listened to the committee members, Agata narrowed her eyes at the other competitors. Most were younger, although a few were older. Many of them were Hogwarts students, she could pick that a mile away, what with many of them looking comfortable in the towers atmosphere, even with it changed. Agata herself was a bit stifled, and in this regard, she was glad she had chosen the rescuer, able to explore the maze to her heart content.

Her leg jiggled as she waited for the chime designating the start, and when she heard it, she placed her hand along the wall, gliding it along the corn stalks. It was too dark to see fully, and she knew she needed her other senses to get her bearings and navigate her way out to the tower, to Sherlock.

River was here for a good time, that is what she had told herself. So once she had located her partner, she willingly followed to play the game. As they headed over River noted how everything about Chiaki was softer, she doubted the girl had ever shouted at her parents in anger, or slammed the door of her bedroom because her sibling had annoyed her. The other girl was kind of cute, River could not help but admit to herself.

The French girl waved as Chiaki left to go up the tower, "Good Luck!" She called after her, hoping that her voice could be heard. Now standing here River tried to figure out what to do, she had to get through the maze, intently the French girl started towards the maze, like the many other who were on their way, maybe if she followed someone she could get to the end faster.

"No" she whispered out loud, "I would be second to get there, I want to be first." And First she was bound to be.

With all the pride in the world, River started out as graceful as a swan, her wand was held in her hand as a self defense, she was gonna save Chiaki no matter what.

Logan had to save Elsian...the girl should have known that her best friend was going to end up being the damsel because that was just how he was. "Your owner is a bit dramatic Kitty," the girl spoke to the spider hanging from her skirt. Sherlock did not seem impressed with the girl talking to the spider and rubbed against her legs, wanting as much attention as he could before the game began. "Sherlock, I need you to stick close, okay," she finally spoke to the cat, afraid he would get lost during the game or get hurt somehow.

The Hufflepuff knew that competing this in a dress was not going to be the easiest thing, walking in general would not have been an easy task if she had not grown up wearing dresses constantly. Hopefully the game did not require any climbing and very little running, because that would be very difficult in the shoes with no traction and the fluffy gold dress. Logan hoped that Elsian would be enjoying himself, doing whatever he would be doing at the top of the tower, other than being a damsel because that was something Elsian would probably be rather good at.

It was the first time Samantha was away from Bubba this night and she didn't like it all. She wanted to spend every single minute with her date and to see him again she needed to save him. Confronted with a dark maze, the young prefect stopped in her tracks, realizing it would be stupid to just walk into the spooky maze. Realizing she needed a plan, she flicked her wand as the incantation "lumos" left her lips.

After the tip of her wand lit up, the brunette took a deep breath and stepped into the maze, determined to save her date. She couldn't just let her crush, the boy that made her heart beat faster, stay locked in that scary tower! The many nights that she had stayed laying awake after the shadow spider attack in her first year had caused her to be more familiar with the dark. However, the hundred nights of staring at the ceiling hadn't made her any less scared of the dark. Wand in her shaky hand, she slowly continued walking into the maze, ready to jinx anything that moved.

What if the shadow spiders had come back? What if this game was a trap by the hags so they could kidnap them? What if the hags already had Bubba? Every sound she heard, every worrying thought, and every vague movement she saw, caused Samantha to walk faster. Her heart was beating loudly as she faced her greatest fear, the darkness, in order to save him. To save Bubba.

Edme wasn't sure if she was buzzing with joy or nerves, but either way it was strangely thrilling. The second year stood next to their date anxiously, trying to seem cool but having no clue how to go about doing that. Her hands had gone from being by her sides, crossed, behind her back, and just about every other way they could go before she lamely tucked them one over the other.

Although they knew that the two would have to separate at some point, she was still overcome with a small bit of anxiety mixed with disappointment when Avery was called off to go with the other damsels to their place of stay. Edme was sure the other was just going to walk off before she turned around and said her goodbyes. The Ravenclaw took the last moments to look at their date, beautiful hair and pretty dress that just about matched her perfectly. Going to the ball with her had been something indescribably new, and Edme was beginning to think she didn't mind the change.

"And good luck to you too. Don't get too comfortable up in your tower." the Ravenclaw grinned, the words seeming far too smooth on their tongue. They felt awfully in control at that moment, as if she had been on auto-pilot for a while, and now she was finally taking the wheel. Now it was just up to if she could get through that blasted maze.

She wasn't entirely sure why she had taken the role of rescuer, as there was nothing heroic about her. They were lanky, fearful, and more bone than muscle. But there was no going back now, so they pulled up their skirt to reveal a pair of neat white flats that were probably not the most suitable for exploring, and trudged off into the frightening, dark maze.

This was an outrage.

Had Elsian understood what would happen he would have been more careful about jotting his name on that stupid paper! Damsel, he would never hear the end of it. He was quite sure of it, this story would be used against him for the rest of his days all because he was too lazy to read about the roles. And he’d lost Kitty! Actually, Kitty had coldly abandoned him in favor of staying with Logan in the wake of Elsian getting ‘kidnapped’, but the point still stood and if anything gave the boy even more right to grouch.

Then again…

Looking around he was struck with the realization he was the damsel. Damsel as in the delicate one who currently didn’t have to deal with fighting up to the tower, or finding the tower, or whatever other horrible things his knight in golden tiara had to deal with as the rescuer…

Huh. Less of an outrage.

A nap would be nice. Just sit still and look pretty until Logan got here- oh but nooo. Apparently damsels had to work for freedom nowadays according to some people. This was once again an outrage. Looking for things had never been on the top of his things to do list, but he supposed he wasn’t horrible at it…unless he was, in which case sorry Queenie but seems you would need to do all the work as he sat here and did whatever it was damsels did. Kiss frogs?

He peered down out a window. Sing until your knight comes riding to fight the dragon and save you?

Well, he didn’t see any frogs. And luckily it seemed they hadn’t gotten their hands on any dragons recently. Elsian was hit with the bitter knowledge that he should have kept the tiara for himself as he peeked between corners and began lazily riffling between any furniture or odd props hanging about. “I should have kept that bloody crown,” he grumbled, huffing as plopped himself down to peek through some dusty area, it was unlikely for anything to be there but dust and despair. “Keep the spider and the crown, but nooo. Of course Queenie gets all the animal sidekicks.”

Pea is somehow in charge of this silly game. Although she is not really in the best mood at the ball- she thought this game will take her mind off things. The white-haired is wearing a black hood on, standing in front of the creepy corn maze that she designed with the other committee members. She look around as several people already gathered. She gave a sign to the other committee that it is time to "kidnap" the damsel and place them on top of the Owlery tower, while she stays behind to give the instructions to the rescuers. It was then that the game started when the clocks start chiming.

Now she is already standing at the finish line of the corn maze. And what she has witnessed is very interesting indeed.

The Rescuers
There was a creepy melody softly accompanying the rescuers when they pass through the maze. But other than that, it was pretty quiet other than the rustling of the corn leaves. But then the silence broke as Pea saw the first person who manages to escape the haunted corn maze. It was a fellow second-year David Howard who manage to take a lead in the corn maze. "Well congrats, you are the first person to solve the maze," Pea says to the boy, she was supposed to act like an evil witch's minion but she choose not to because it's stupid. Seconds later he is followed by 2 other person who finishes the maze at the same time, Edme Achillan, and Samantha Salwis. Seconds later, another person has successfully completed the maze, a blonde girl that she is familiar with, Bailey Glade. "Hm~ I am impressed Bailey." Pea sounds sarcastic but she is actually genuinely impressed by the girl. Impressive performance by these courageous rescuers, but she wonders if their partners also doing as well as them. After quite some time, more people have come out. But sadly there are still several that seem to be really struggling to find the exit. The white-haired rolled her eyes. "What is taking them so long!"

The Damsels
There are several committees that are watching over the Damsels struggling to find the thing they needed that lies inside the clue. A potion. But 2 people manage to find it very easily it turns out. Both of them found the potion at the same time only minutes after the game started. The two handsome damsels were Sherlock Dols, and Bubba McGarry. "Oh no! they have found the witch's secret potions!" Says one of the black hooded committee while snickering acting like they are in the character of a witch's minions. The two damsels are soon followed by Colin McCoire in second, while right after that Lloyd Matthews Thomas, Kim Sato, and Daphne Saphirus found their vials at the same time. This is truly starting to get competitive. Although there are several people who are really struggling to find their potions.
