ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Keith had a familiar look on his face. One that most first years tended to have upon reaching Hogwarts and engaging in the great feast laid out. For some reason, Kim felt the urge to speak to him. "You know, if you're overwhelmed by the sheer size of the castle and all the things you can do, there's a helpful program you can check out later. It's called the mentorship program. An older student is assigned to help you get accustomed to the place and answers any questions you might have. It helped me a lot during my first year." Kim suggested to Keith. As it was, Ali and Gia seemed distracted at the moment, so the white haired boy was able to give his full attention. How long that would last for was to be determined as time passed and people returned their attention to him. Kim couldn't help but wonder what had gone on at the Ravenclaw table though. Spider Girl and Sophia seemed to have gotten into a serious argument, one that had gotten them both detention. Along with Precious. Kim was surprised that Precious would have engaged in breaking the rules like that, it wasn't really something he'd expected her to have done. Sure, he understood sticking up for your friend, but in a non-violent way. Such as sacrificing your own body. Like he'd done in the past. Not to mention, they'd done it in front of everyone! At the opening feast inside the great hall of all places. That had been foolish, if they'd wanted to do something like this, it should have happened in an obscure area, or after hours. You didn't want to do it out in public, in front of the Headmaster and prefects all gathered together. That was just asking for trouble and the likelihood of being caught and getting detention was high, it was stupid to do so. Kim would have to ask Sophia what had happened later on once her detention was done. But for now, he had other fun plans to do. With a certain boy he'd met over the summer. It would be a blast, that much was for certain. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

The Gryffindor Table 2022-2023

𝒯 his wasn't anything Leo had in mind. Perhaps he had wanted a different house, he had always viewed Griffindor as . . . One of the more easy houses to get sorted into. With a small frown, He had sat down where there was space.
Of course, it wasn't that he was sad. Now, this table was for the brave, prideful. He had just the right amount of that in him. There was nothing that could take away that fact, he had to be grateful. exhaling a breath, Leo glances down at the plates. He hadn't really eaten much except sweets on the train, his nerves only growing. Now, however, he decided to start filling his plate with the large assortment of food.
Leo never did look up at people, only listening to the murmured and small conversation around him. If this table was where he was meant to be, he'd obviously do his best to belong. Which he did, he had been sorted here after all. Brave . . . The words of the sorting had rang out in his head, constantly on repeat. Soon a small smile was on his lips, taking a small bite of his biscuit that he had placed on his plate. This was going to be fun. This was going to work out. Leo was now having his own sense of deep thought.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Once more, another Gryffindor joined the table. Kim glanced over at the newcomer who had taken a seat next to him, a boy this time, and regarded him. Blue eyes flickered over Leo as the latter served himself a ton of delicious food from all the offerings. A smirk came to his lips, liking his appetite. "You know, if you're trying some of everything, don't forget to sample the shepherd's pie here. It's quite delicious." Kim told him. It really was, the house elves had outdone themselves with this particular dish. "Kim Aoki, second year Gryffindor duelist. Welcome to Gryffindor and Hogwarts. You are?" He asked, curious. It was always interesting meeting new people to see all of their reactions. He placed some of the shepherd's pie into his own mouth, chewed and swallowed and took some more. It was his favorite choice of food during sorting ceremonies, along with the custard tarts. Of course, Kim did eat other types of food too but that was his staple for this time of year. He couldn't not eat it because it would just feel strange not to. The white haired boy placed some caramelized carrots and onions onto his plate too, along with some steak. This was also delicious. Reaching out for a biscuit, Kim took one of those too. "How do you like Hogwarts so far?" Kim asked, wondering if Leo had an impression of the place as of right now. Or if it was too soon to tell. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Ⓟushing his golden hair from his eyes, Leo takes a moment to actually realize it was him that was being spoken to. Though, he didn't fail to keep filling his plate like an animal, almost. He pushed the last bit of his biscuit into his mouth now, sitting back a little and wiping his chin. "Uhh . . . " Within a moment, he had swallowed, and shrugged. "I like it here, but it's not as impressive as I would have thought. My father did say it would be nice, though. Talk about a get away - " This school was indeed more fabulous than he had said. The magic was incredible, and the amazement never failed his curious eyes. He looks at the blue eyed male.
"Dude-" He grinned, leaning closer. "I totally thought it was creepy outside. I mean, it being night and all," Leo rolled his shoulders, going to sip at his orange juice. Then he considered the shepherds pie, clicking his tongue and reaching to place a piece on his plate, using his fork now to take a small piece and brought it to his mouth. "Mm-" He smiled. "That is good -" He seemed to like this strangers taste in food.
Finally, he gave his own introduction. "The name's Leo Katz. it's nice to meet you, Kim. And obviously I'm a first year," He keeps his smile on his lips, his honey colored eyes having a small twinkle to them. It was nice to talk again, having being quiet on the train ride to Hogwarts.
Well, at least he had some type of chance to have a reputation.
Now adding some mashed potato's to his combination of food, Leo mixed his other variations together - Weirdly, he didn't like to eat on a neat plate. People could judge as they wished, he wouldn't even mind. He had an appetite, so there wasn't really too big a mystery here.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It did take Leo awhile. To figure out Kim was speaking to him and not someone else. But that was to be expected from newcomers. He was pretty good at figuring things out like this. Leo's words made Kim raise a brow. Not as impressive? What an interesting choice of words! Going from them, it made him think Leo was either a pureblood or wizard-born. Perhaps even a half-blood, as they did tend to be aware of the wizarding world all around them. Even if they weren't as highly thought of or ranked as the former two were. One thing was for certain, Leo certainly wasn't a muggle because he would never have heard of stories of Hogwarts then. The boy leaned forward after to whisper into his ear. "Oh? You mean darkness in general or something else?" Kim asked, curious. Darkness was definitely something to watch out for, he didn't do too well within it either. But the castle itself he didn't find very scary or creepy, at least not any more than any other kind of place. Kim glanced over at Leo as the boy helped himself to some orange juice. Too much sugar for him at the moment. He was saving his sugar quota for desserts and wouldn't fill himself up with liquid sweets. Of course, he still liked them but at the moment he was feeling more savory now. A faint smirk came to his lips. Savory. Before he'd met Bailey he would have always gone for sweets every single time, every chance he got. But ever since he'd met her, he'd been deviating more towards savory since she always brought sweets. There was such a thing as too much sweet from time to time. Kim grinned as Leo tried the shepherd's pie and confirmed it was delicious as he'd said it was. "When desserts come, you should try the custard tarts too. They have just the right amount of sweetness without overdoing it, it's the perfect type of dessert." He told him and glanced over at Leo's plate. "What's your favorite so far?" The white haired boy asked, curious about his tastes. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Leo momentarily pauses. Placing his hands back in his lap, he leans back from where he sat on the bench. Looking up at the large assortment of candles above them, he fidgets with his robes. He seems to be slipping in and out of conversation, but that was only on his mild nerves. Sighing, he looks back at Kim and smiles. To answer his question, he takes a moment more, and just gently taps Kim on his shoulder.
"Well, from the outside, it's dark. The castle has lighting, yes, but I get this sense of - Well, something of horror films my mum used to show me when I was younger." Looking at his plate, he shrugs. "However, now inside, it's . . . Comfortable, like a home. In a sense, it is a home, for all these people. I find it fascinating, that much at least." Leo smiles to himself.
He pauses in eating. His appetite wasn't gone, yet he still felt the need to pause. "Custard tarts?" he then continues, "I think I will in fact try them then. I am literally so surprised that food just appears. Well, not too surprised, but you know what I mean." Leo giggles, covering his mouth as he did so.
"My favorites . . . ?"
This was a newer form of questions for him, but he took less time to respond. In fact, he responds really quickly. "As far as desserts! Oh my - Okay! I loveee pumpkin pie." He says, face lighting up at this topic. "I know! I know, It's such a common dessert! but . . . It's so delicious, I really do enjoy it. Pumpkin flavored anything, really. Yet I don't understand the concept of pumpkin juice. How is it even made?" He seems to be ranting now, but happily so. "Do you just put a pumpkin in a blender? Alas, I dislike pumpkin juice. I may just be allergic...but not to pumpkin pie." Leo leans closer to Kim.
"You like custard tarts the most, huh?" He picks up his fork again to play with his food for a second. "I honestly hardly eat anything but sweets when I'm not at home. My mum hates it when I eat too many sweets, or buttery things. She's a tad strict on that topic." He says with another form of a shrug.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Leo's words made Kim tilt his head to the side. Films? What were those? It must have been something scary since he'd mentioned horror before the word. That particular word sounded like a muggle term which confused him a little, from what Leo had said earlier about his father, he'd have thought he would have been a pureblood or wizard-born. The white haired boy had also considered Leo might have been like Sage too, being a half-blood who knew a lot about muggle things. Apparently, this impression was probably right now that this 'horror films' term had come up, which Kim was not familiar with at all. What exactly was it though? Kim was drawn from his thoughts as Leo spoke about the delicious custard tarts. "I take it you're not familiar with magic? Are you a half-blood or a muggle-born?" Kim asked, curious to know which one it was. Because obviously he couldn't very well be a pureblood or wizard-born. That just wouldn't make any sense at all if he were. If he was, he wouldn't have been surprised that food just appeared. It was a common thing in the wizarding world and everyone was used to it, in fact they would be more surprised if it didn't just appear. But when the food topic came around, Kim lost himself again. "Pumpkin is very delicious." He said. "And it's very popular in the fall, the fall ball will probably have some pumpkin types of desserts or snacks." Kim guessed because why wouldn't it? The balls usually had a variety of food to choose from and since it was fall, what better flavor to pick than pumpkin or squash? As Leo spoke of loving sweets, Kim smiled at him, liking him already since he was a fellow sweet lover like him. "Well, you've met the right boy then. I'm known as the Prince of Sweets here. If you ever want or need a sweet treat, send me an owl to let me know!" "I can usually get or make whatever you might be craving at the time. I actually love making food and sweets on a regular basis and run a few clubs here too. One of them is a cooking club, if you want to join it! It's called the Tri-Cook Club (TCC)." Kim told him and wondered if Leo would consider joining the club later. It would be nice to have a fellow sweets lover join the club and getting first years would be a great thing for them. New generations were always a benefit to any type of club at Hogwarts. They kept things fresh. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Leo pauses tilts his own head, matching Kim's posture for a split second. "Hm-?" He goes in to take a small bite of his mashed potato's.
"Ohhhh . . ." Shortly he realizes what was being asked of him about magic. He sort of expected getting asked this at some point. Of course, he just kept smiling, and raising a hand to wave it, then changing his hand to hold a thumbs up. "I'm a half-blood! That's what I was told it was called. I'm not too familiar with magic, though my father always told me stories. He wanted to keep it in his words 'normal' when he settled with my mother. So, he never uses magic. Though, I know enough." Leo giggles, before that sounds turned into a soft sigh.
"I'm delighted to be here, really." He kept his hand occupied as he mixes his potato's with his peas. Still, a habit he never grew out of since he was young. Usually he'd be pestered about doing such 'childish' things, as his mum stated.
Yeah, another reason Leo Katz could be enthusiastic about being at Hogwarts. He didn't have to deal with his mum, or parents in general. Let alone the muggle schools. The grading system always made his day a tad bit more stressful, really. Plus, he was partly sure, judging my the way his father reacted when they got the owl saying Leo had been accepted into Hogwarts. that he was highly encouraged to leave and stay gone as long as possible. As much as he loved his parents, they were a bit annoying at times, just as he was sure was the same for their viewing on him.
Though over all, completed with a cherry on top, It was true, this was an amazing place to be. He felt safe, happy and had high excitement building up about him working to become a real wizard.
Oh my gosh, [/i ]He thought to himself, This is so cool.
Upon the topic back to food, Leo never fails to smile. "Glad to see you agree!" Then, he allows his fork to be put down, clapping his hands together. "A ball~?" The young wizard seems to perk up. "Oh, wow. I guess, or I mean, of course a school this big would have a ball . . . All types of foods would be there. Yet I'm so there for the pumpkin flavored treats." He then reaches out to poke Kim's shoulder as shortly as possible, not wanting to trespass any boundaries. "Wait, you're like a prince of sweets? Man, that's crazy. Seriously! Like in the films . . . Oh, I'm sure you know what films are, right?" He tilts his head back like earlier, gazing up at the ceiling high above them.
"They are like magic to me." He continues, "Well, that's almost funny to say since magic ironically does exist. Capturing such amazing scenes on a singular television or camera, simply amazing. I wish I could work with a camera like the professionals do."
Leo's face lit up as he spoke about such things, not sure if Kim had any knowledge of the muggle world. Alas, he still spoke vividly. "I also think joining a club would be nice. I'll consider it, once I get steeled in. I would love to join one, and maybe make a few familiar faces. Like . . . if you'll be there, I may just tag along."

────────────────────── ㅤ
ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Leo was a half-blood. It wasn't surprising but that was only because of having met other half-bloods like Leo before recently. Kim had originally thought them to be muggle-born and had been rather surprised to find out otherwise. So this time, he'd been prepared and history had repeated itself with another half-blood. "I see." The white haired boy said with a nod and thought for a few seconds. "So tell me, what was your first instance of magic that made you eligible to come to Hogwarts?" Kim was curious. After all, everyone was different. No one had the same story, although some did have similarities. He finished off what was on his plate and waited for the table to clear itself off. Once it did, dessert would be served, which was what he was looking forward to now. "Since you like pumpkin, I'm assuming your favorite holiday probably is Halloween, right?" Kim said with a smirk. After all, Halloween was a time for pumpkins! Once again, Leo mentioned 'films' and then asked if he knew what they were. "Um, not really, does it have to do with food?" Kim asked. It was the only thing he could think of since Leo had mentioned it after referring to his title as the Prince of Sweets. What was this 'television' he also mentioned? Ah, camera. He knew that one. Even wizards had wizard cameras. Wait, so could 'television' and 'films' be referring to muggle type of cameras? "You don't know how to operate a camera? I could teach you!" Kim said, as he actually owned a wizard camera. He nodded when Leo spoke of possibly joining the TCC later. "I own a few other clubs too in case you'd like to check them out. The Fashion Club, Clumsy Club, Mafia Club and the Blindfolded Club. All of them are pretty fun, although the last club needs more members desperately." He said with a sigh and a shake of his head. Ah the food disappeared and a few minutes later a huge display of desserts appeared. "Oh, right. The pumpkin donuts are delicious, you should try them." Kim suggested to Leo and took one for himself, along with a piece of pumpkin cheesecake, a custard tart, a chocolate glazed donut, a cheese danish and some chocolate pudding. "The food here is delicious. The house elves are usually really good at cooking and baking food at the castle." He told him and bit into the cheese danish, deciding to go for the less strong flavored desserts first and finish with the others afterward. "At Hogwarts I like the custard tarts the most." It was true. Custard tarts were his go-to-dessert for meals at Hogwarts. It was something he could always count on having. "They come in all different flavors too, depending on the day and time. But my favorite sweets are the chocoballs. You can get those at Hogsmeade or from the trolley-witch's cart on the Express. Hogwarts also tends to have them sometimes too." Kim finished off his cheese danish and started on the pumpkin donut. "What are you going to try?" He asked, curious as to what Leo was going to pick and put down onto his plate. There was no need to stop at just one or two things, a sweet-a-holic needed to fill the entire plate up! Eventually, it was time to leave and Kim headed out of the hall, needing to reunite with Puffie. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

The Gryffindor Table 2022-2023
Wesley made his way to the Gryffindor table, barely keeping his legs from shaking. He had no reason to be nervous, he knew, but his legs always seemed to fail him at moments like this. He was not quite sure what to think about being sorted into Gryffindor. He was not quite sure what he had been expecting. Ravenclaw, perhaps. Not quite Hufflepuff. Maybe Slytherin, though he had doubted it.
He settled himself into a seat, trying to focus on the food adorning the table and the enchanted ceiling above. The food was glorious, but Wesley found a certain something lacking in it; he took that to be his own familiarity with his mother's cooking. Still, as he scraped food onto his plate, glanced at the star's beyond the ceiling, and stole glances at his new housemates, his mind continued to stray to the events of the evening and the preceding days.
His finger began to idly explore the surface of his wand inside his robes. Walnut with a jackalope antler core. He thought he remembered hearing something about walnut wood wands being ideal for intelligent wizards. Ordinarily, Wesley would have scoffed at the idea of being called intelligent; but, after all, the wand had chosen him, so clearly it thought he was. He thought of his father's wand, which he had seen but seldom. He knew its core was dragon heartstring, though he couldn't remember what wood it was made from. Would his wand have power comparable to his father's?
He brushed the question aside and thought of his little sister, Emily. Perhaps she too would sit here one day, contemplating her wand and house. Wesley smiled. She was nearly in tears when Wesley stepped onto the train, and he already couldn't wait to see her joyously beaming face come Christmas holiday.
Wesley settled back in his chair and turned his thoughts to the people surrounding him. His family told him he was a natural in social situations. He thought otherwise. It suddenly struck him as quite humorous how many things he thought he wasn't, that other people thought he was, and he grinned.
