Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
For the second time in the span of three rounds, Astrea's stable position upon the piste was cast into doubt. Skilfully outmanoeuvring a pressurised jet of water bursting forth from within the unknown expanse, Slytherin was not as fortunate as to avoid extra clouds. The thick fog lifted somewhat due to her partner's expertise, easing their hindered vision and allowing the vague silhouettes to be better seen, but the multiple layers of Nebulus now combined with the rolling, rumbling threat of lightning above.
It seemed that this duel was one that was meant to be dragged out instead of ended quickly, with action turned into a war of attrition rather than a kamikaze of power. It mattered not if the duel's end be a quiet one or one of great dramatic strategical intrigue, for it would come to its fateful close as it should, one way or another.
Action: Doing as strategised.

Another round started with Astrea aiming her wand at Nicky and casting another wind jinx her way. This time the gust of wind didn't split and sadly it also didn't hit the intended target. Both snakes had gone for the popular ventus, only one seemed to struggle with the spell a lot. Whatever it was that had caused Ileen to slip up, it cost her a lot. Instead of the gust of wind going to the cloud as it was supposed to, the spell backfired and the wind affected the poor caster. The previous jolt of wind that had annoyed the fourth year had just disappeared and now there was another one... The girl just couldn't get a break.
Nicky's spell, a beautiful incedio duo, missed its target due to the many clouds that surrounded the duelists. On the other hand, Alan was a lot luckier, as his wind jinx hit Astrea, causing both Slytherins to fight a strong wind. The storm cloud was rumbling above the two Slytherins, luckily for them, no lighting descended from the cloud.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Nicky was a bit disappointed that her spell didn't hit the intended target but at the same time, she felt a bit relieved since she didn't really want to burn anyone. She decided that she wasn't going to think much about the failure and would simply attempt to do better next time.

Alan was quite pleased with this round, as he had actually managed to hit one of the other team with a spell. He had managed to hit Astrea and like a blessing in disguise, the spell that Ileen had wanted to use to harm the Gryffindor's perhaps, would instead struck her instead, causing even more imbalance in the rankings.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Ileen couldn’t believe it. She had practiced so much but just when she raised her wand she could feel that something was off. The energy went backwards though the chestnut and the Slytherin girl tried to push it back but it didn’t work.
The spell blew up in her face and although no one had aimed at her yet she found herself in a jolt of wind - her own.
Merlin! Every duel that happened to her once. Why? Gritting her teeth she squinted her eyes to search for her opponents. She needed to do better. to focus more.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Just as the swirling gale about her began to die down, yet another gust of magical wind took its place. Unlike Astrea’s target, whose extremely close dodge was aided by the present fog hindering her vision, it seemed that the Slytherin was to be kept in perpetual disadvantage. The heavy cloud rumbled threateningly above their heads, not yet prepared to strike but willing nonetheless.
Astrea, as nearly every experienced (or, more frequently, inexperienced) duelist, knew first-hand the potent frustration that accompanied a backfired spell. To have one’s magic betray them was a sign of conflict that could change the tides of a duel in an instant. From Astrea’s hazy view of the other, however, this potentially fatal misstep was only inspiring even more determination upon her younger partner. That resolve would serve them well with the proper strategical adaptation.

Fog blocking the view, a storm cloud rumbling above the Slytherin's heads, and two strong jolts of winds pestering the duelists. The duel was chaotic and Samantha didn't expect it to calm down any time soon. Astrea didn't cast any spell this round and the reason why was unknown to Samantha. Maybe she was tired, something had distracted her or maybe the Slytherin just didn't feel like doing anything. Ileen had chosen to create a new fog cloud and gift it to the lions, who partly disappeared behind the cloud.
Meanwhile, the other duelists hadn't sat still either. Nicky had carefully cast incendio duo towards Ileen, whose sleeve was now on fire. From her own experience, Samantha knew that being set on fire wasn't a fun thing and she felt bad for the older girl. Astrea didn't seem to have a great time either. Alan had cast the Pressurized Water Charm at her which had hit her in the eyes. The water would make its way into Astrea's eyes, making it harder for her to see.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
This time, Nicky's spell didn't miss. She wasn't sure whether to be happy about it or feel sorry for Ileen because she knew from experience how unpleasant it felt to be set on fire. Unfortunately, it was also the quickest way to take an opponent out and she had to think of her team first in the duels. So she focused on the duel again because she knew they had to win that one.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Alan would see as his attack hit its target and Astrea was blasted with a jet of water, which would lead to a temporarily reduced vision, which was great for the Gryffindor's really, so Alan made a noise of triumph, before readying himself for the very next round. There was no time to rest right now, he would have to remain focused on what was going on. He respected the fact that Astrea had thus far managed to mostly avoid everything that had come her way. Perhaps now her lucky streak was done for and the lions would take charge of the duel, deciding it ultimately for themselves? Though Alan knew he couldn't slack off just yet, the duel was far from secure or decided as many rounds might very well still lay ahead of them.
