A Fluffy Dragon Pet Solo

Daphne had a big grin on her face, looking more elated than ever. She couldn’t believe it, her older brother, Ryuu had given her enough coin to buy a pet of choice! Something her mother was greatly against due to the fact she believed that a pet at school would distract her from her studies. However, Ryuu knew how much Daphne needed a break from all the stress of being a first year. And considering Truffles couldn’t come, buying a pet was the next best option. After thanking her brother who went to distract their mother, Daphne made her way to the shop called Magical Menagerie. She had to be cool, be nice and patient. She could only bring one pet, so it had to count. This would be a bond that’d last a lifetime. Beyond Hogwarts.

When she entered the store, she would be greeted by an old couple. A tall man and a woman who was about a foot shorter, both with smiles on their faces. “Welcome to our shop! You must be a first year, I presume?” The lady said with a tilt of head, to which Daphne nodded to. “Wonderful! Now make a careful selection, this isn’t just a personal stay at home pet but will accompany you at school.. Make sure you have ample time to care for it.” She advised.

“I will, I promise!” Daphne exclaimed as she began to walk, looking over the pets. She already had a pet at home that flew so an owl wouldn’t work. A toad was too small for her, and a rat may get lost. The Pygmy puffs were sooo cute but she preferred a pet that could defend itself. Not that they couldn’t but she’d be scared someone would accidentally step on the fluffy puff. The lizards, fish and spiders weren’t really catching her attention. And her mother so wouldn’t accept a snake in the home! The ferrets and bunnies could work but what else was there to offer?

The cats! They were perfect, and so pretty too. Daphne grinned and immediately went over to a young silver fluffy cat that couldn’t be more than 5 months old. “Ahh, you like that one, hmm? That’s a Silver Siberian, we got this one imported straight from Russia. Amazing pedigree, if you’re into cat shows he’d be a perfect candidate. His parents are national cat show champions. Although this one in particular may be a lot to handle for beginners..” The man now said, gesturing to how the kitten blinked at Daphne in annoyance. "The only one left of his litter."

Daphne kept grinning, a little fuss wouldn’t stop her! “I’ll take him! I promise to take good-no great care of him, sir!” She said with a determined nod, now picking up the kitten with both hands. "He shall be known as...Alduin! The greatest dragon that ever lived!"
