It was the day of the Fall Ball and it was a beautiful day. But ever since Haley Rose woke up, she had been plagued by nervousness. But it was not because of the ball, no. This was the first year she would not attend the ball. This evening would be more beautiful than any ball, she knew that. Today was her date with Ronnie and that was the reason for her nervousness. It was silly, but the girl had a head over heels crush on this boy.

Haley loved the proms, but not for a minute was she sad that she wouldn't be attending this year. She was looking forward to it more than she had ever looked forward to a ball and wanted to enjoy every moment with Ronnie.

All too soon, she stood in front of her wardrobe and started to get ready. There was no way she was going to be late and she wanted to allow enough time in case anything went wrong. Her grandmother had sent her a dress for a ball, as she did every year. Only she would wear it to a much better evening than perhaps she had originally planned. Haley took the blue dress from the wardrobe and placed it on her bed. She then stood in front of the mirror and took care of her hair. She took a section of the front hair and twisted it together and tied both sides behind her head, leaving the rest loose in her big curls as usual. She also took some mascara and put it on her eyelashes.

After she was done with that she finally slipped into the dress, of course it fitted her like a glove, her grandmother knew exactly what she was doing and this dress was, like every other, beautiful. The dress was split down the left leg and accentuated her long legs. She wore matching high heels with the dress. Haley was ready, but she still had ages to go, so she tried to play down her nervousness, but to no avail. Every ten minutes she checked her outfit until it was finally time to leave her dormitory and make her way to the great lake.

Haley encountered many beautifully dressed students who were just meeting friends or their date to go to the ball afterwards. Presumably everyone thought this of her too, but she was heading in a different direction - outside to the great lake. The cool autumn air filled her lungs and the sky was dotted with stars, it was a wonderful evening.

Excitement grew with every step and her heart pounded madly in her chest until she could see Ronnie. For a moment her heart stopped and a smile formed on her lips. Haley would never get used to how good looking this boy was. His dark hair was styled perfectly and he looked simply stunning in the blue suit. She could see a table, silver platters already on it, encasing the plates like a ball and a candle glimmering in front of it.

"Ronnie." Haley walked right up to him, her eyes only on him, "This is wonderful." She said sheepishly now, looking down at the floor for a moment. Before she looked him straight in the eye and reached for his hands. "It looks beautiful. And you look gorgeous."

It feels like eternity waiting for Haley to show up when in reality the minutes had not to change that significant. As Ronnie waited for Haley with both of his hands clasped behind his back, dark thoughts came crashing down on the boy. What took her so long to get here? What if this is all for nothing? What if she stood me up?

Ronnie's heart thunders inside his ribcage and his hands turn into clamy and cold ones. The Fall wind gently blows against his face but it did not stop Ronnie to worry about Haley's whereabouts. His eyes darted back and forth between the entranceway and the exquisite meal that both Cash and himself had prepared for this special night.

Another minute ticked by but Ronnie was sure that Haley will show up any minute now. And true to his intuition, Ronnie's ginger beauty emerges from the dark depth. Ronnie needed to squint his eyes to look at the outfit that Haley wears for the night. Slowly but surely, Haley walked towards where Ronnie standing.

The soft light that shines from the moon above both of the students' heads accented Haley's beautiful features even more. Ronnie feels like he wanted to pass out and throw up at the same time with how nervous he was. With bated breath, he waited patiently and it seem Haley's walked in slow motion.

I feel like a groom waiting for his bride at the end of the altar Ronnie thought to himself but quickly shook his head to erase the image that emerged in his mind. The blue dress that Haley wears makes her glided instead of walking on the grassy ground of the Great Lake. As soon as Haley stand in front of him, at first, Ronnie did not hear Haley call out his name.

And when her soft voice entered his hearing sense, Ronnie could not stop smiling from ear to ear. Ronnie ran his eyes to take a look at Haley from her top to bottom. "Wow!"Ronnie could not say anything since he suddenly got tongue-tied. "You look enchanting as always, Miss Rose,"The Brazilian breathed out after he collected himself.

The Duellist then looked at the outstretched hand of Haley and in instant, Ronnie also stretched out his hand to hold Haley. Ronnie guided Haley to the short distance of the table. Good thing Cash had picked the spot with much sturdy soiled. Ronnie could not believe that his first date will be happening.

After he pulled out the chair for Haley to seated on, "Pardon me, miss"Ronnie then spread the napkin across Haley's thigh. Once Haley settled, Ronnie then seated across Haley. Ronnie then smiles lovingly at Haley. "And you always took my breath away,"Ronnie said returning the compliment.

For a moment Ronnie forgot what he need to do as he take in and stare at Haley's gorgeous face. Then his blue-grey eyes fleet to the silver dome that was already on the table. "I hope you do not mind that I make all of your favorite dishes for tonight"He informed Haley. Ronnie then nodded his head.

From the darkness of the night, Cash emerged wearing an ensemble of a black and white tux completed with a black bowtie around their neck. "For the appetizer, we have Irish stew,"Cash then took out the silver domes and presented the meals to the couple. Cash then sends a glare toward Ronnie. As Cash disappeared into the darkness again, Ronnie let out a small chuckle.

"Shall we enjoy the meal while it is still warm, then?"Ronnie never tried Irish stew before but if the dish is one of Haley's favorites, Ronnie is definitely willing to try it on. And who knows, maybe he likes it too.

Haley's cheeks turned red as Ronnie looked at her with his blue-grey eyes and all he said was wow. She bit her lips and smirked. "Thank you." She replied softly before following him to the table.

Haley sat down on the chair, "Thank you." She already had the feeling that she would be thanking him far too many times throughout the evening. And again she thanked the boy, who now placed another napkin over Haley's thigh.

Haley was at a loss for words, Ronnie really surprised her. It was all so beautiful, the clear starry sky, the location, the soft music from the ball and Ronnie. She could think she was in a dream and for a brief moment she considered pinching herself. But she knew that was a dream in reality and she couldn't have been more grateful for this evening.

"My favourite dishes?" Haley asked, eager to see what was in store for her. She had never told Ronnie what her favourite food was and most importantly she had several. She loved Italian food but especially loved her old home - Ireland. But Ronnie had no way of knowing that and so she put her head on one side and looked at him in wonder.

It was as if the evening was full of surprise. Haley held her breath as she saw Cash come up to them in a black and white suit. "Cash!" she said happily. Her head snapped up to Ronnie. "You're not serious now?" Haley couldn't believe her own eyes. She knew Ronnie and Cash were friends but never in her life would she have thought anyone in this world could have talked Cash into this.

Haley didn't have much time to process this surprise before she was presented with another one, right in front of her on her plate, served by none other than Cash. Haley thought she had misheard, but that was not possible. Cash had really just said Irish stew and a glance at the plate confirmed it. Haley couldn't help but grin broadly. "How did you know?" Her eyes lit up as she looked at Ronnie. She really couldn't believe it.

"I'd love to!" Haley couldn't wait to eat from the appetizer and the smell alone carried her back to her childhood. "You know my grandma in Ireland made Irish stew with the best." Started the redhead, reminiscing. "It's one of our national dishes but now it's not eaten that often in Ireland because historically it was considered a poor man's food. But my grandma always said it was part of our tradition, poor people or not." Haley took the first spoonful of the stew and she closed her eyes. "Mhh." The potatoes were perfectly cooked, the onions not too dominant and the parsley rounded it out. "We used to cook this together in my grandparents' garden over an open fireplace. My parents and grandfather would cut the potatoes, onions and carrots while my grandmother and I took care of the meat and cooking." Haley loved this memory of her childhood, noting again how much she missed Ireland.

"Do you like it?" she inquired cautiously. "And please be honest, Irish stew is not for everyone." Laughed Haley before taking another spoonful of the stew.

As soon as Ronnie said the Brazilian prepared all of Haley's favorite dishes as the part of the meal for their dinner, Ronnie could pick up the eager tone that emitted from the redhead beauty. Ronnie still could not believe how lucky he is. Haley's blue dress makes her more like a princess than any regular Hogwarts student.

Ronnie then nodded his head vigorously. "Yes, your favorite meal, minha bela princesa my beautiful princess"The Duellist deliberately said the same thing that he once wrote in one of the letters between Haley and himself. He wanted to know whether Haley picked up on it or not. Then the surprise of the night still keeps on giving.

Once Cash emerged from the darkness and Haley seems surprised by their presence. Ronnie tried so hard to suppress his smile. "You're not serious now?"The Gryffindor asked the Castelobruxo student. The blue-grey eyes boy looked at Haley with pure joy in his eyes. "I am indeed serious,"He replied back.

"It was not that easy to persuade them into something, I tell you that. But after I promised Cash I make something for them to make their time worthwhile, Cash agreed to it"To untrain ears what Ronnie just said seems rather a bit stretchy but nothing bad about it. Ronnie just promised Cash to bake them his infamous chewy yet soft choco chip cookies.

The Ramírez boy waited patiently for Cash to present the appetizer meal from the three-course meal that both Cash and himself had prepared for tonight. Once Cash was out of sight, Ronnie opened up his mouth. "Under that hard exterior and their sarcastic manner, Cash is a good person"Ronnie explained some more.

On the little square table that was covered by white cloth, once the silver domes had been removed, the soup still has some smoke in it. "How did you know?"Inquired the Quidditch player to the Duellist with a broad grin etched on her lips. Ronnie smiled fondly at the girl. "It is for me to know and for you to not find out,"Ronnie said teasingly.

He looked at Haley and there was a silence gap to make a little faux dramatic pause. He wanted to know whether Haley took the bait or not. But then Ronnie opened his mouth. "I am just joking,"He outed himself. "I know because I think you told Cash once before, "The blue-grey eyes boy told Haley.

"Cash can be ignorant and can be selfish from time to time but they listened and remembered every detail of the people that they care about no matter how small or mundane the fact is"Ronnie spoke highly of his cousin. His princess then launched a story of how Irish stew brought back her fondest childhood memory.

The Castelobruxo student hang to every word that Haley said and looked at the girl in front of him with so much adoration in his eyes. "I adore you,"Ronnie expressed randomly. "I mean I love the fact that Irish stew meant so much for you,"He added. Ronnie was so immersed in looking at Haley that he completely forgot the stew that was seated in front of him.

"Do you like it? And please be honest, Irish stew is not for everyone"The Quidditch player inquired her counterpart. Ronnie then looked down at the stew. To be honest, he never tried before. With a caution take, he scooped up the stew and put it in his mouth. For a moment, Ronnie did not say anything.

He still trying to decipher all the tastes that assaulted his tastebud. But once the taste seeped into his tongue, Ronnie smiled. "Cash has really outdone themselves,"He compliments to the chef. Ronnie then took another spoonful. Everything in the bowl had cooked to perfection. Ronnie was sure Cash add a few herbs and spices to elevate the taste without overpowering the taste of the stew itself.

Once the appetizer was done, Cash emerged again. And in true magic fashion, there were two plates floated in front of them. The green eyes carefully lowered their wand until the plates safely landed on the table. "Your main course for tonight is baby potatoes, salmon, and veggies on the side. Enjoy!"Cash this time did not glare at Ronnie but smiled at the couple.

The green eyes then gave Haley a look that said 'I expected details after this'. Once the main course had been served Cash walked into the darkness again. "It is so fun to boss around my usually badass and sarcastic cousin for a change, "The Brazilian said without a thought while cutting the salmon into pieces then he put it in his mouth.

"I hope the meal is what you expected and up to your standard,"Ronnie smiled to Haley as he scooped up the vegetables.

Minha bela princesa, Haley tried to repeat the words in her head, knowing that she would probably pronounce it completely wrong. She remembered the words, she had read them before in one of the letters and she could only begin to guess what it meant. Princess, she was sure, and while she loved these mysterious nicknames, she also wanted to know exactly what it meant. But that knowledge could also be a long time coming.

With a big grin, Haley listened to Ronnie talk about how he had persuaded Cash to do all this. "Cash is a great person." Agreed the redhead. She really liked them and at the same time was surprised at how well they bonded. "So, what are you going to do for Cash? What's so special that them let you talk them into this?" Haley had to really strain to keep her feet still, she could hardly wait for the answer.

Giggling, she shook her head. "However you found out, I appreciate it." She paused for a moment and looked at the boy opposite her a little more seriously now "And I'll find out." She added with a smile and started laughing while looking into his blue-grey eyes. She could look into those eyes for hours and keep losing it. She still couldn't understand how he managed to captivate her like that, but she didn't mind either.

Haley wished she could have hidden it, but her cheeks flushed when Ronnie said the words. "I adore you." Damn, this boy was driving her crazy. She had to smile, she immediately missed his voice and his spoken words. She would love to tell him to say it again. And then again and again. She would never have enough of it. This girl was falling for him deeply.

"This is crazy." Haley marveled as the main course arrived. She couldn't believe it but Ronnie (and Cash) had put everything into making this evening perfect. It was a moment where she felt endless happiness and security. She felt so much gratitude and if she didn't distract herself immediately she would get way too sentimental. It just meant an infinite amount to her that they had put so much time and effort into this wonderful evening. "Up to my standard?" The girl shook her head in disbelief, "Ronnie are you crazy? This is all amazing and way too much. THIS is perfect and I don't even know how to ever thank you for this evening. You and Cash."

Haley found it hard to stay seated, she would have loved to get up and give Ronnie a long hug. He had put so much effort into it and that was all Haley could see. "I mean look at this. A beautiful date under the clear starry sky, excellent food, a handsome boy. Could it get any better than that?"

It was Haley now who put some salmon on her fork and took the first bite. "Mhh." She closed her eyes with relish and continued tasting the potatoes and veggies. "Gosh, Cash should do this more often."

Haley enjoyed every second of this evening and hoped it would last an eternity. The last few months had seen her evolve back into the person she was and she could now say she was happy where she stood now and with whom. She had had a dark time, but it was behind her and this moment was one that showed her that it had been worth it. That everything could be good again. After having an empty plate in front of her and some small talk with Ronnie, she wanted to get some honest words out. She felt she just had to get her feelings out.

"Ronnie." She addressed the boy who looked just perfect sitting across from her. She reached across the table for his hand and smiled gently at him. "You can't imagine how grateful I am for all this. How grateful I am for you. This gives me so much and it couldn't be more perfect than it is right now. I don't know how to say it either, but I just had to say it again. I love all of this."

Ronnie can definitely see the gear of curiosity of Haley once he said the Portuguese words and decided to put it to rest. "If you wonder what minha bela princesa meant it means my beautiful princess. Which you are,"The Brazilian boy then put another cut-up salmon and veggies into his mouth. Usually, Ronnie was not that fond of salmon but Cash could make it into wonders.

"This is marvelous,"Ronnie added as he scooped the meal some more. "Usually, I do not like the taste of salmon since they are a bit flaky and weird for me but this,"The Duellist pointed to the pink flesh with his fork. "This is heaven,"Ronnie let out a satisfying sound. "So, what are you going to do for Cash? What's so special that they let you talk them into this?"The redhead beauty that was seated in front of Ronnie asked.

Ronnie chewed for a bit before he opened his mouth. "I, well, I bribed them that I will make them my infamous chewy yet soft choco chip cookies if they did well which they did,"Ronnie answered Haley's inquiry. "JOB WELL DONE, COS!"The blue-grey-eyed boy shouted. Somewhere in the darkness Cash replied 'thanks' with the same enthusiasm and loudness that Ronnie had produced.

And when Ronnie said the meal was hopefully up to Haley's standard, the girl shook her head in disbelief. "Ronnie are you crazy? This is all amazing and way too much. THIS is perfect and I don't even know how to ever thank you for this evening. You and Cash"Stated the Gryffindor girl. Ronnie shrug his shoulder like it was nothing.

"I could not take all the credit. Cash did most of the part. The meal except for the dessert part. That was all me. But they did pick the venue and all that,"Ronnie smiled at Haley. The Duellist then leaned forward as if to whisper something conspirational to Haley. "I think deep down Cash is a hopeless romantic kind of person,"After the boy said that he leaned back in his seat again.

Once the entrée and the main course had one, Cash emerged for one last time bringing their dessert which is Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream on the side. Ronnie let out a wink at his cousin and Cash stuck their tongue out. "I mean look at this. A beautiful date under the clear starry sky, excellent food, and a handsome boy. Could it get any better than that?"Haley complimented the situation she was in.

"You,"Ronnie shoot-straightly. "Yes the date was lovely by itself. But you, my dear, the stars got nothing in comparison to your beauty,"Ronnie said from the bottom of his heart. He usually was not this smooth-talker but Haley deserves the best, only the truth, and Ronnie intended to keep it that way.

In the distance, Ronnie could hear the faint sound of music coming from the ball and Ronnie could not wait to share a dance with Haley under the starry stars. But first, he needs to finish the dessert first. As Ronnie chewed away the Apple Tart, Hales spoke his name. "Sí, mi cariña? yes, my darling?"Ronnie said with perfect Spanish.

It is a rare occasion that the boy speaks Spanish but Spanish was not that far off from Portuguese. "You can't imagine how grateful I am for all this. How grateful I am for you. This gives me so much and it couldn't be more perfect than it is right now. I don't know how to say it either, but I just had to say it again. I love all of this"Ronnie can sense the heartfelt that pours out from the girl across from him.

When Haley reached out her hand to Ronnie, the Brazilian took ahold of the girl's hand and rubbed his thumb affectionately across Haley's knuckle. Ronnie could swear he can hear his heartbeat in his ears and while he still caressing Haley's knuckle, he got swept up at the moment. "And I love you,"Ronnie said with a smile.

Then something dawned on him. The panic-stricken on Ronnie's face is palpable. "I mean uhh.."Ronnie opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of the water. Crap! this is too fast. You are too fast to say that, Andréas! Ronnie berated himself. But what was done was done. And Ronnie could only hope that Haley was not running for the hills by his accidental declaration of love.

Ronnie then stood up from his seat and offer his hand to Haley. "May I have this dance with you, Miss Rose?"Ronnie smiled to cover up the inner dumbness and nervousness he was in. Hopefully, Haley forgot what he just said earlier.

Haley really didn't mind being Ronnie's beautiful princess, quite the opposite. When he explained what it meant, the heat rose in her cheeks again and she grinned sheepishly to herself. These nicknames of the other language appealed to her and she decided that she would do the same to him sometime, only in Irish. But this she would save for another evening.

"Mhmm." She agreed with Ronnie's words with her eyes closed. Haley did not know Cash was such an artist in the kitchen. "This is outstanding." She added dreamily before taking another bite. While the handsome boy told her about how he'd talked Cash into all this, she listened intently as she continued to let her taste buds linger in heaven. If she could, she would never stop eating that. "Your famous chewy soft chocho chip cookies?" Haley thought for a moment, "I think I should help you with that." She babbled on, after all the evening was for her too and Cash was doing Haley a favour too. Besides, it sounded like a lot of fun to bake with the blue-grey-eyed boy. And she could certainly taste some of his famous cookies too. A win-win situation.

Before Haley could lose herself further in thoughts of standing in the kitchen with Ronnie and flour on her face, laughing heartily and tasting the dough, she was brought back to reality by his loud, yet wonderful, voice. At first she winced slightly, not expecting it at all, then she started laughing and finally her eyes widened. "COS?" she repeated a little too loudly and her mouth fell open. "You mean Cos, as in cousin?" she asked him now as Cash responded to Ronnie's words with the same loud call. This was news to Haley, could they really be related? It would explain a lot at least.

While Haley was so flustered by the evening, Ronnie sat there shrugging his shoulders. It was a brief moment that revealed that at the end of the day, the two of them were from different worlds. And perhaps this was one of the reasons why they worked so well together. They were different and yet the same and there would be an as yet unknown world waiting for both of them that the other would show the other. Haley could hardly wait.

Giggling, the redhead now leaned towards Ronnie and whispered softly so Cash couldn't hear, "Cash is definitely a softie. Even if they'd beat me up or shoot me in the head with a bludger for saying that." Now it was Haley who sat back laughing and even though the idea was actually painful, it made her laugh. The idea of being hounded by Cash because of that statement was really amusing.

It was nice how the two of them could laugh and the evening just took its course, without any effort. It was a perfect night, just as Haley had already said and at Ronnie's words let her heart leapt. Never had she thought a boy could captivate her like that. Made her heart warm up again and she would actually let it, but this boy was special. While her mind should have been screaming for her not to make herself vulnerable, it was already too late. She stood there, lost in his eyes, no protection, no wall around her.

His warm hand felt so soft and she didn't want to let it go and when Ronnie said the words Haley least expected, her heart leapt again. It took a moment for her to process it and really be sure that this had just really happened, that's when she looked at Ronnie and it was now the moment he noticed too. She saw the panic on his face and she wanted to do everything she could to take it away. She squeezed his hand gently but remained silent, not wanting to overwhelm him. Besides, she didn't know whether he was panicking because he didn't mean it or because he had just told the truth. Maybe it had just been an act of affectation. Even though the thought disappointed her, she didn't want to brood too much, but continued to make the most of the evening. She suspected it would be best to say nothing more about it and let the moment subside for now. Even if her heart would prefer to do otherwise.

She stood up and took his hand. "Nothing would make me happier." She replied with a small curtsy before winking at him. She grabbed his hand and shoulder, then danced to the soft music still playing in the background from the ball with the handsome boy and his darn dimples opposite her.

As Haley grabbed his hand and shoulder, the word vomit that the Brazilian just said a few minutes ago echoing in his mind. He does love Haley but the way he said it was too soon. Did he regret saying that? Absolutely not but he needs to process things. His father and siblings often said that Ronnie said things without thinking it through and tonight they proved themselves right.

The Duellist wanted to apologize but if he apologized Haley could see it that he did not mean that and for the blue-grey-eyed boy it was the complete opposite. Ronnie then put his hand on the small of Haley's back and both of the students saw softly under the faint music coming from the ball and under the starry night.

Ronnie then nodded his head after Haley said Haley could help him make his infamous chewy soft choco chip cookies for Cash. "I would love for you to help me out,"He beamed at the redhead beauty that is in his arms. Usually, when Ronnie made his infamous choco chip cookies, nobody was allowed to be in the Ramírez kitchen.

His siblings often times eat the dough and make a mess in the kitchen and his perfect measure dough usually was lessen gradually than he hope for. But perhaps with Haley, it would not come into the same situation as he did back home. "I think it will be fun to make together,"He shoots Haley his dimpled similes.

The faint music still coming from the ball and even though both of the students did not attend the event, it makes their own little thing more intimate and private than attending the Ball itself. "Yes, Phoenix is my cousin,"Ronnie told Haley using Cash's first real name. "I wanted to tell you the first time I saw you during that signed-up line back at Summer Camp but Cash told me explicitly not to tell anyone,"The Ramírez boy told the Gryffindor girl.

"To be honest I do not know why they did not want people to know both of us related but the more I think about it perhaps they are embarrassed by me,"Ronnie sighed and looked down at his perfect shiny dress shoes. "You see I am not like most of my family,"Ronnie opened up some more. "Cash is so badass and cool. So did my father with his Parseltongue ability,"

"Alex - my oldest sister - is an accomplished Magizoologist. My brother Venice, well, he is a star Quidditch player and planning to go pro with what he knows best,"Ronnie looked up to the sky and think wistfully. It is clear to see that Ronnie feel burdened to live up to his father's and siblings' expectation.

"Izzy - my youngest sister - is still ten so she got a long road ahead of her and she does not have to follow anyone's footsteps yet. While me, they always said they were proud of me - especially my father - but deep down I know they watched me with every decision or step that I chose,"There was a glint of unshed tears pooling in his eyes.

"My father always told me I am too soft for my own liking. I always put my heart on my sleeve and one day it would be my own downfall,"Ronnie let out a shaky small smile as the reality dawned on him. The Brazilian boy sniffed and for a moment let go of Haley's hand to wipe away the threatening tears of his that were about to leak out from his eyes.

"Sorry for being a softie back there."Ronnie felt silly for a moment but he sucks a deep breath and pushed down his sadness. "I did not mean to ruin our night with my tears and all that,"Ronnie felt like he can talk to Haley about anything and the girl that is in his arm would not judge him for it. "I do not know how Cash did it,"He took a quick glance at where Cash hiding under the blanket of tonight's darkness of the night.

"They had lost so much and whatever life throws their way, Cash seems unfazed by it. Or perhaps they masked it too well for other people to see it"Ronnie added. "I do not know if I can be like them or like my father. He did not know why suddenly he is very nervous and shy about it.

The tall bay then twirls Haley and pulls her back into his arms again. "What I am trying to say is uhh.."Ronnie could feel his heart hammering inside his chest and his hand become a bit clammy. Ronnie let out a small nervous chuckle and suck the Autumn night air some more into his lungs. From the distance, he can hear Cash shouting some encouragement for their dear cousin.

Cash knew what was about to happen but Haley did not. "This is harder than I thought so excuse me for a bit,"Ronnie continued. He let go of Haley's hand and wipe his clammy hands on his perfect iron dress pants. A minute had ticked by and not a single word come out of his mouth. Ronnie had formed a beautiful speech in his head about how he wanted to ask Haley to go steady with him and be his official girlfriend.

But the more he thinks about it, his mind started to grow into a jumbled mess. The silence kills him and he could sense that Haley grows worried with the silence between them. "You know what, I am preparing this lovely speech to say to you but now my mind is working against me. So I am just going to say it,"Ronnie still very much feels nervous.

The boy then grabbed both of Haley's hands again and looked deeply into the girl's eyes. "I know we had not known each other for long but from the first time I saw you, I am enchanted by your beauty,"Ronnie began his speech. "First of all, I want to say sorry that Cash sent me a picture of you without you knowing it,"Ronnie smiled sheepishly at Haley.

"But I just need to see your face even though it is through your picture. The more I get to know you, my feelings for you grow and I never felt like this to anyone else,"Ronnie continued some more. "I never thought the idea of love or loving someone is in my playbook but here we are. And it feels like a dream with you at this moment,The blue-grey-eyed boy said honestly.

"You, Haley Rose, as cheesy and as cliché as it was, you are my dream girl and my princess,"Ronnie knew he rambled out and his heart still hammering in his chest like crazy. "What I am trying to say is, will you do the honor to go steady with me and be my girlfriend?"Ronnie asked and breathe out the breath he did not know he hold.

"But if it is too fast for you because of what happened with you know and you want to wait it out, I am fine with it. I would not be offended with what your decision is,"Ronnie smiled nervously at Haley. Haley felt safe with Ronnie and as soon as he put his hand on her back, she leaned a little more into the position and began to sway back and forth to the soft music. She would love to hold onto this moment somehow so that she could relive it over and over again. She thought for a moment about taking her Polaroid camera out of her bag, but she didn't want to interrupt this moment, so she decided against it. "Great! The only question is when." Ronnie would be leaving soon and the thought tore a small hole in her heart. "Maybe somehow we'll have a chance to see each other over the Christmas holidays?" Long distance relationships, she hated it already. But for this boy, it would be worth it. Even if they weren't in an official relationship (yet), it almost felt like it.

"Phoenix?" repeated Haley his words, as she had so many times that night. She took a small step back without removing her hands from his body and looked at him again with wide eyes. "Cash's name is Phoenix? Damn, that's new. But that's a freaking cool name!" Haley didn't have a middle name, often she was happy just being Haley, but sometimes she envied the people with a cool middle name, like Cash. "It's okay that you didn't tell me. I mean you couldn't really know me at the time. Besides, I wouldn't risk starting stress with Cash either." She winked at him and smiled.

For the next few minutes, Ronnie opened his heart, telling Haley about his thoughts and worries and she listened intently to every word. She appreciated how honest and open he could talk to her. She would take an example from him, because Haley did not always find this easy. But with Ronnie it was different, she could and would trust him as he did now. It hurt her, his words, his feelings. No one should think they were embarrassing anyone else and especially not their own family. Haley took a deep breath before carefully taking his face in her hands. With her thumb, she gently wiped away a single tear.

"You will listen to me carefully now." She said sternly, looking deep into his eyes. "Never ever think that you are not enough! You don't have to be like your family. You just have to be you. Be yourself and don't conform for anyone. Cash may look tough to the outside world and yea they are badass but that doesn't mean they should be ashamed of you in any way. You are amazing, never forget that. YOU don't have to become a Magizoologist, a Quidditch player or any minister. You just have to become what you want to be and that will be the right thing! And don't ever apologise to me for being soft again. That's a quality you should value, it shows true strength. Please don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Please. I love the way you are, your emotions, your honest nature and also when you stand there looking at me like a golden retriever puppy" She continued to look him in the eye before carefully loosening her grip on his face and pulling the boy across from her into a hug.

"And if nothing works out, you can always become a successful model." Haley was smiling perkily at him again now, trying to lighten the mood a little. She really hoped he believed her words and wouldn't be swayed by the opinions of others.

The mood changed and this time it wasn't sadness in Ronnie, it was nervousness. Completely unaware of what he was getting at, the red-haired girl laughed, "Now come on, you can ask me anything you want." She tried to encourage him and it seemed even Cash knew as they shouted to their cousin. "CASH STOP LISTENING!" retorted Haley laughing and making a joke.

But Ronnie continued to be serious and she was starting to get worried. It only took a few seconds before he had plucked up his courage and suddenly it all made sense. Relieved, Haley let the pent-up air out of her lungs. "Ronnie." She didn't know what to say, she was caught off guard by his kind words. That he called her his dream girl, at those words her heart gave an extra leap and the butterflies in her stomach went crazy. Damn that boy was driving her crazy. "Let's not end this dream." She alluded to his words "it feels like a dream with you at this moment." She took a step towards him now, not breaking eye contact. "Luv, of course I want to be your girlfriend." Haley grinned widely, revealing the little dimples in her cheeks. Slowly she moved closer, Haley was tall for her age but Ronnie was still a good bit taller than her. She leaned cautiously on her tiptoes and gently touched his lips to hers. She remembered the kiss they had during Truth and Dare and too often she had dreamed to repeat that moment.
