Gryffindor v Slytherin: Match 5
Rose cast the fog charm and the stage was once again clouded in fog. The Slytherins must have really hated her. Rose was unable to dodge two more spells sent her way. She growled to herself, teying to shield her face from the wind.
She was getting tired. She had to keep pushing. She couldn't let Galton down.

Galton seemed to be tired of the Slytherin's success, attempting to make their spell casting even more difficult than the pressure they were already under on the piste. But, his spells sadly missed. Opeila had a near miss, the spell passing almost in slow motion. Bridget was able to dodge just as easily, both of their tongues staying un-tied for the moment. Rose took the defensive route, getting in a good heal before being hit not once, but twice again.
Bridget casted her Wind Jinx with ease despite the water in her eyes and the disorientation from the smoke, while there was no split it hit the target it was supposed to. Opeila seemed to be the one girl smoke defense squad, defending the Slytherin's against any and all smoke. As she shot out a split wind jinx, the smoke cleared from the piste and Rose was hit once more. This poor girl was taking shots left and right, but was still standing strong.Information

Gryffindor v Slytherin: Match 5

Right, considering that it was the Gryffindor girl who seemed to conjure one cloud of smoke after the next, well, Opeila decided to keep her busy. And make the smoke disappear. Honestly, the new knowledge of splitting spells was a blessing. No more wasting time by casting spells one by one.
The hint of a smile would appear on the Slytherin's face when the smoke vanished, just in time for her to see Galton's spell flying her way. She only barely dodged, but- well, she dodged, right? From the corner of her eye she could see Bridget dodge a spell as well.
Then both of the Slytherins' spells hit Rose.

Even with water in her eyes and smoke around the platform, this was not the moment to let up. Rose had taken quite a few hits by now, so they had to keep up the pressure, and besides, she was concerned about what might happen if she gave Galton anything to take advantage of. The spread Mimblewimble she had to dodge right after casting was evidence enough of the kind of havoc he could wreak; that could have put both her and Opeila out of use for a while.
So Bridget aimed a Ventus through it all, betting on the fact Rose's was layered with even more spells than she was and probably growing sluggish with each additional hit. Thanks to Opeila's efforts, she could see their opponents again moments later, and it looked like they were still finding success. Rose had felt the need to heal; she couldn't have much left.

If there had been a time for his aim to take a dive, now was not it. Rose was taking an onslaught of spells and it was showing. Galton was impressed she was still standing.
It was an odd position to be in, he had yet to feel the sting of any magic, and his partner was paying for it. He needed to make some moves before their bad position turned worse.

Two more wind jinxes rushed towards Rose. Still fighting against the wind from before, Rose wasn't able to dodge. She gripped her wand in frustration. She was doing so horribly. She was letting Galton down. Rose didn't know how much more of this she could take before her heart would give up.
She had to keep pushing. She had to stay awake.

Slytherin had identified the weakened member of the other team, and what followed was a bit brutal to watch. Rose healed herself once more, attempting to desperately stay standing despite everything working against her. Galton once again covered the piste in a thick fog, he seemed to thrive in it.
Before the fog obscured Bridget and Opeila's vision they casted a collaborative Knockback Jinx at Rose. The brave lion didn't stand a chance, flying backwards mere moments after the spells hit her. This time she did not get back up. Dori stopped the duel, waiting for the girl to be taken off the piste with the typical destination of the hospital wing. There was a part of them that desired to be doing their internship on duelling days, but there was plenty of assistance to do during quidditch matches. The duel restarted moments later.

Gryffindor v Slytherin: Match 5

They weren't done yet. The fourth year Gryffindor seemed to have changed her strategy and began to heal herself, but it just wasn't enough, not against the real wave of spells that had been hitting her since the beginning of the duel. Both Bridget and Opeila cast a solid knockback jinx that finally sent Rose to the ground.
This left them with Galton who immediately went to do what he could do best- hide himself in a cloud of smoke.

It was with a brutal sort of efficiency that they took down Rose. There was nothing gentle about two Knockback Jinxes, but they weren't leaving any room for escape, even with her continued efforts to heal and Galton's to give them some cover. The platform filled with fog and Dorion called for a pause. One down, one to go.
"Nice job," she praised in the general direction of Opeila, unable to quite make our her teammate's face. Their success so far was very much a joint effort, and they surely wouldn't be doing so well without both of them landing hits and Opeila using her spell-spreading skills to keep the platform clear. If they could keep this up, they were in a good spot, especially now that they had the numbers advantage. Still, it was Galton across from her, and it would be a dumb move to get overconfident just yet. Bridget shifted her weight and resecured her grip on her wand, ready for the call to resume.

As Rose went down Galton could feel his sense tighten in on him. He’d not often been in a situation where he was left on his own like this. There was almost a pang of guilt encroaching into his thoughts - the boy was in perfect health, and his partner was out cold.
The cogs started to turn, his mind knowing he needed to kick things into overdrive if we wanted a way to turn the situation. So far from ideal. At least there was fog.
