Quidditch Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022

─────Sticking close to Ethen, Avery keeps her head on a swivel to try and spot any potential danger while the seeker continues to search the skies. Sure enough, she spies one of the other beaters lob a bludger their way. Grip tightening on her bat, the first year does her best to zero in on the incoming bludger and angles herself in front of the seeker. Just like practice... Winding her arm back, there's a satisfying crack of the bat connecting with the bludger. She watches it sail back into the offending Gryffindor beater with a gratifying hit even as her arm tingles from the intensity of the impact.

Her attention is quickly diverted to elsewhere on the field. Avery can only watch in dismay as the second bludger slams int0 Alma, knocking her from her broom. Distracted as she was with the distressing sight of the chaser falling through the air, she's not at all prepared for the offending bludger to redirect their way. Too late to raise her bat by the time she notices it, she instead opts to angle herself just into its path to shield Ethen. She winces as it slams into her shoulder and nearly unseats her. Scrambling to tighten her grip on the broom, the first year hisses slightly in pain as she resettles herself. Sparing a quick glance towards Alma once more, Avery lets out a soft huff of air. She levels a faint glare towards the Gryffindor players even as she does her best to prepare for what comes next.

Ethan winced as he watched a Hufflepuff player take a hard fall from their broom during the Quidditch match. He could sympathize; he knew how much it hurt to fall like that. However, he didn't let that stop him from cheering on his fellow Gryffindors. They needed all the support they could get if they were going to win this match.

Howard flew through the air as fast as his broom would allow, however this time it would not be to snatch the Quaffle. He would leave the scoring up to his team mates as he set his crimson eyes on a new target. The satisfying announcement of forty new points for Hufflepuff would help stave off the dismay of losing so many players so quickly and hopefully his next move would help too! Yet try as he might to surprise his target, Haley and Finnegan would turn in time to evade his Blatch attempt. A series of expletives would escape Howard's lips as he missed and was set onto a penalty lap of his own.

A speck of gold could only evade them for so long, Elena thought to herself with some dismay. As soon as she had this thought, it was like she had said some magic word or something as her eyes swiveled on a streak of gold or perhaps it was a flash of light? It happened again and that was when Elena Jangleton knew she was not dreaming. Amongst all the chaos and everything else that was occuring, here was a chance to put a short and quick end to all of that. "Got you." Elena muttered to herself shooting a quick glance to see where Ethen waas, if he caught her flying off quite suddenly, it wouldn't take long to put two and two together but still, Elena was determined to put her hands on that evasive projectile of gold before him. She was not about to make her first match a total hot mess kicking her Firebolt up to speed as the wind sped past her as Elena Jangleton zeroed in on the target sincerely praying that the Bludgers would stay away just long enough just in time to hear the whistle that would conclude this match but for that to happen, she had to catch the blasted thing.

Still hurting from his reunion with one of the bludgers, Ethen was still happy to just be on his broom. It took him a moment to reorient himself but after a quick deep breath, Ethen grit his teeth and was ready to continue. As long as he still clutched his broom he was going to try and help out his team. Deciding to keep moving, Ethen's eyes continued to search the chaotic pitch for any small glint.

Flexing his fingers over the broom, Ethen periodically adjusted himself to try and find a comfortable position. However, as he adjusted, Ethen spotted a sudden golden flash. A smile immediately crawled over Ethen's lips as his head darted around to keep the little snitch in his view. Now that it was in his sights, there was the small task of actually catching the thing. He already knew that the other team would probably be coming after him but Ethen thought if he stayed low and fast he might have a chance of surviving. This would be the game to do it and he knew the other seeker would be right there to contest him in getting the snitch. Leaning down on his broom, Ethen readied himself to begin the chase.

As the game continued to get more competitive, Atlas could see the seekers already under pressure. But she also saw an opening of her own. The other team seemed to be letting up pressure on their goals so perhaps she could do more than just sit at the uncontested goalposts. As much as Atlas loved to defend, there was a certain excitement in actually being able to score or take part in the more aggressive aspects of the game. Perhaps it was her more competitive nature that made Atlas excited by the notion. A grin crept over her face as she shot forward and adrenaline coursed through her as she moved to get the quaffle.

As she grabbed the quaffle and was able to easily score, Atlas let out a pleased laugh as immediately turned back to position. She did love it when the quaffle went through the goalposts as long as it wasn't hers. As she again got her hands on the quaffle to score a second time, Atlas began to hope she could just spend the game running the score up. There was a rush and excitement that kept a smile on her face as she continued to play more aggressively than her position normally was able to.

If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separate from the attack roll.

Stanley's peace had been distrubed. People were getting hit left, right and centre. His head went from calm and quiet to busy and dizzy all in a second. His eyes could even focus on what was happening as it was all so fast. The players had become blurs and flashes. Stan's head was whipping from side to side trying to keep up with everything happening. After nearly a year, the boy still didn't really understand why Quidditch was such a fast paced game. He didn't understand why players needed to get hurt. Maybe it was a good thing that he had decided he had had enough of the unecessary violence.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff 2022

With confidence in his ability to catch people mid-air at an all time high, Finnegan had half a mind to dive toward Alma and save her too. He grimaced at seeing her get knocked off so soon, but that was quidditch, and it was necessary if they wanted to win. Now it was time to get back into the game before the badgers could establish an insurmountable lead.

Well, they weren't out of it yet. Leaning forward in anticipation she'd listen to the narrator for the game. Another badger had fallen but the Badgers were still staying strong. More points from quaffle goals. She'd nod her head in approval, remembering when she had once been a Chaser a few years back. It was only the second round of plays yet both Seekers had spotted the snitch. It was now all hands-on deck. They had to survive and outwit Gryffindor if they had any chance of winning. At this point, the girl didn't believe in luck anymore. If they wanted to win, they'd have to do something about it, no matter the risk. Clasping her hands together to the point her knuckles turned white she'd stay seated, stiff as a board, body buzzing as tension and nerves coursed through her veins.
