Biography:

Mother

Cynthia’s mother is named Mariam Beaufort and is at the age of thirty-seven. She once worked as a professor, but now homeschools Cynthia and earns in money by being a successful author, writing both in English and French. Even though she is very loving, she is also quite strict, but allows Cynthia to grow up the way she wants to. She taught Cynthia French, as well.

Father

Cynthia’s father is named William Beaufort and is at the age of forty. He graduated from Hogwarts to work in the Department of Mysteries and the Ministry of Magic. He is a very busy, but makes sure to appropriate some time for her daughter. He is very kind around her, but can be very serious in the workplace.

Pet

Cynthia considers her snowy owl, Avery, not just a mean of communication, put also a beloved pet. Due to her family’s wealth, Avery is her personal owl. It can often be seen with Cynthia, especially when she is reading. But, she could only bring one pet to Hogwarts — it was not Avery.

However, the pet she brought to Hogwarts is her rat, Brownie. She is ver protective of Brownie, especially around Avery. Cynthia acts in a motherly way towards the rat, always making sure it is well-fed and comfortable. Some people may say, ‘a rat? How disgusting!’ Cynthia would get very defensive when she hears this.

Best Childhood Friend

Cynthia’s best childhood friend is a girl named Sophia Ellis. Sophia’s intelligence always matched hers. They would share information and opinions to each other. Sadly, Sophia did not go to Hogwarts, because her parents moved to France, causing Sophia to go to Cynthia’s mother’s school.

Childhood:

Cynthia’s childhood was very strict. Her mother made sure that she had all the knowledge she needed. Her mother did this by homeschooling her, as mentioned above. Cynthia’s mother helped her preview the subjects she would learn. However, she planned for Cynthia to go to Beauxbatons, the school she graduated from. So, Cynthia mostly learned the subjects taught there. But, perhaps one thing that changed her life — whether for the worst or for the better — her parents had an argument about which school to send their daughter to. Finally, they agreed on Hogwarts.

However, that does not mean Cynthia spent all her time in the study. Whenever she was free, she would go out with Sophia. Sometimes they would go to the library, other times the bookshop, maybe the park, or even go shopping. They would exchange their little anecdotes in life. They were always happy together. But perhaps another thing that changes her life — and for the worst — was Sophia leaving Britain. Sophia’s mother believed — contrary to Cynthia’s mother — that her child should go to Beauxbatons. They did not part on friendly terms — Cynthia had another magical instance that caused Sophia’s mother, Rose, to fall into a river.

But, before that happened, Cynthia had a generally wonderful childhood. Living in a privileged family, Cynthia could get whatever she wanted. However, this does mean she could seem — and perhaps is — spoilt. She always thinks that want she wants would just be there for her. This is not the case in life. So sadly, it has caused a number of disagreements. Another thing that resulted of having little friends as a child also means that while she can seem elegant, she is actually quite socially awkward. The people around her were really just her parents and Sophia. She had no siblings and her cousins only visited rarely. However, being alone was perhaps one of the things she enjoyed.

As a child, her parents always knew to leave her to be herself, despite their strictness. They never tried to ‘mold’ their child into what they wanted. Instead, Cynthia was free to develop herself however she liked. She could take on any hobbies — and she did, watercolour and playing the French horn. Perhaps the French horn was something Mariam edged her to do. Cynthia’s mother always enjoyed the sound of the instrument, but Mariam had no musical talent herself. While Cynthia’s skills are certainly not the best, they are agreeable. As for watercolour, that was an unexpected choice for her. Cynthia hates to get herself dirty. Even her parents hate it — they told her never to do it, despite not trying to mold Cynthia. Still, Cynthia says she enjoys watercolour — because she can let the brush take her wherever she wanted, making the most elegant strokes. At a young age she was also taught to appreciate poetry. And she did, perhaps even writing a bit of her own. Perhaps one thing she didn’t take on (and surprisingly so), was dancing. Mariam always loved dancing, but Cynthia simply refused to do it.

Like any child, she would spend some time outdoors — but not exactly to play. She dislike most games, since they included a lot of running around. She disliked any physical activity, which is maybe why she will not — maybe even cannot — dance. As a child, Cynthia had been in parties too, mainly those her mother hosted. During these parties, she would do what was expected of her, maybe participate in some activities, but normally, she would slink off into her room. However, her mother disapproves of this, saying that Cynthia should try to make some new connections.

Her father was always absent of Cynthia’s life, being the busy man he is. Cynthia never knew him well. He came back late and left early, causing Cynthia to only spent a little time with him. Whenever Willam could take the time though, it would always be a pleasure. Unlike Mariam, William tries to show his daughter the real world, instead of just facts. Sometimes they would go out in the weekends.

First Instance of Magic:

Cynthia’s first instance, which happened when she was six, of magic happened in a humble situation. Once when she was visiting the Muggle University of Oxford (because her mother had wanted her to know lives of Muggles in order to do well in Muggle studies), she wanted to read some barred books. However, her parents said that she could not. Suddenly, a book flew into her hands. Her parents were angry, but they understood this was only an accident.
