I know you...Who is she?
"I would be a terrible Hufflepuff, wouldn't you agree?"
Scott chuckled, because that at least was true. He thought only the best of his cousin, better probably than she did of herself, but a Hufflepuff was never something he could imagine her as. Too relentless, if thats a word you can light-heartedly use.
"Oh that's true." He said, "But Gryffindor, I don't know. Or Ravenclaw, even, that's in the family too, you know." He assumed that's what it was about. When you think about it, that's what it had been about for him, as well. Sure, he was in the same house as his dad and both his half brothers- but he hadn't even considered something other than Slytherin before he got here. Which was naïve of him, he realized now, seeing as he wouldn't have fit in at all.
Now wether or not he would have liked it, that's a completely different question.
Scott acknowledged that Ami was back, and shone towards her as if she hadn't told them she'd return. Something told him she didn't enjoy talking about quidditch the way he did, and certainly not the way Mia or Arabella did- so it was maybe partly for her sake he tried changing the subject. He smiled at her.

"You're all purebloods, aren't you?" Ami asked light-heartedly, in a mock-suspicious tone. Some part of her was slightly jealous, sure, that the others had been able to be exposed to this magical world around them from such a young age, but she didn't hold it against them. No, that would certainly be rude, and not polite at all. "I guess I'm the odd one out, then. I couldn't imagine myself anything other than Hufflepuff," she added.
"Red and blue look horrible on me, and green just doesn't jive. Logically, Hufflepuff is really the only option," she continued, 120% joking. Ami couldn't really care less about fashion and style- they had uniforms, after all. Not much thought needed to be put into dragging on a robe and some socks, not much effort needed to be put into throwing on jeans, or tugging on sneakers. Nice, quick, and simple- easily the best part of this school. There were simple uniforms for class, then they could wear whatever they wanted during the weekends and during free periods.
Fiddling with her hair, Ami added, "So, how goes it with your respective houses? Gryffindor, I hear you're joining us for a Lock-in soon, sometime in the near future." Here, Ami winked at Scott and Arabella, wanting to hear their opinion on the Lock-In. Would they be joining the scavenger hunt?

I know you...Who is she?
“You’re all purebloods, aren’t you?”
Scott was about to correct her, but she kept talking. It didn’t seem like it mattered to her, anyway so he figured it would be unnecessary to say he was half blood- in any case, what difference did it make?
“Red and blue look horrible on me, and green just doesn't jive. Logically, Hufflepuff is really the only option.”
She made jokes about why she wouldn’t fit good into any other house, and Scott laughed with her (although now slightly worried that red looked horrible on him, too). She really did fit well as a Hufflepuff. Scott wondered what the significant difference between Ami and, Mia was in that regard, but he couldn’t put his finger on it, although they were clearly very different in general.
Then she addressed him and Arabella more directly: “So, how goes it with your respective houses? Gryffindor, I hear you're joining us for a Lock-in soon, sometime in the near future.”
Scott had heard of this, although it had to him been described with the slightly more childish word of ‘sleepover’. He’d been excited anyway. A sleepover didn’t count as a sleepover if it was your entire family visiting, so in reality he’d never been to one, and what he could only presume to be his Gryffindor spirit for adventure had been aroused, even though it wasn’t even a secret.
It doesn’t take a lot for an eleven-year old to get excited, it seems.
“Oh yes! Have you heard of it too, Arabella? I’m excited. And even more so now, that I know you!”
He hinted back at Ami. And it was true, too. He’d never been shy, but to already know someone from Hufflepuff made it better, he thought.

"Yeah!" Ami exclaimed enthusiastically, her eyes lighting up. Maybe she'd really see him there, that would certainly be really nice to see a familiar face amongst the hostile Gryffindors. Maybe they'd even team up together- really, who knew? "Maybe I'll see you there," she added hopefully, voicing her thoughts, and smiling widely at Scott. Oh my god, you like him, a voice in the back of her mind chortled, and Ami brushed it away with ease. I barely know him- plus, he's Mia's cousin. That's kinda weird. Plus, Anne Hathaway has my heart. The voice chortled again, saying, I don't think she's gay, love.
"Do you guys, uh, want to do anything?" Ami asked, uncomfortable with the growing silence. She normally wasn't one against silence, as most of the time it was comfortable, friendly silence between her and Thomas. However, with these two Gryffindors she barely knew, Ami's skin was crawling with invisible jitterbugs at the ever-growing awkwardness.
"We could... head down to the Quidditch pitch?" she suggested, recalling that the other three seemed to really enjoy the flying sport. While she herself had had some bad experiences with it, she was open to flying around for fun for the sake of abolishing the awkwardness.

Ami added this hopefully, and Mia wrinkled her nose. Did she...like him? That was utterly disgusting. One of her best friends-a person that she admired greatly, so much so that she could write an essay on her-liking Scott? Why? No offense to him, of course, but he was her cousin! She had seen him do the most embarrassing things-like relieve himself under the table when he was 8 months old-and could not imagine ANYONE having some sort of crush on him.Maybe I'll see you there..
That was just ew.
Ami looked a little uncomfortable saying that, and Mia debated about saying yes. On one hand, she loved to fly. On the other hand, well, Ami didn't look like she liked to.We could... head down to the Quidditch pitch?
Smiling at the rest of the group, Mia decided to be somewhat considerate. She couldn't pass up the chance to beat Scott at something, but she didn't want the others to be uncomfortable, more specifically, Ami.
Ami, I'd love to go flying! Thank you for suggesting that!
Mia looked around the group, judging everyone's facial expressions. She wanted to make sure that everyone else was on board before skipping off and flying without a care in the world.
Is everyone else up for it?

Scott definitely was, at the very least. Got happy at the very thought of this little group traveling further. Since he wasn't a player himself, he hadn't been to the pitch too many times- but he enjoyed the atmosphere down there anyway. It only surprised him that it had been Ami's suggestion, of all people, as quidditch hadn't seemed to be her favourite thing in the world when they talked about it earlier. He looked over at her as if to see if she actually wanted to, but she seemed honestly happy with it."Is everyone else up for it?"
Which meant Scott was honestly happy with it.
"I am! And if Arabella minds then that'd really shock me." He shot her a friendly look. She didn't mind the expanding company, did she? No. She was getting along with everyone very well. And so was he, which was a feeling refreshing from the social games currently played in his dorms.
It was a nice contrast. Boys tired him out.
"But if we're going to fly then.. well I'm a Gryffindor so I won't hesitate to try. But I'll probably need you to hold my hand. Or at the very least catch me when I, and I will, fall."
He was only partly joking when he said this, mostly to Mia. "And tell me I'm doing good."

Laughing, Mia shot Scott a teasing look, flicking her hair back so that it cascaded down her shoulders, waves of gold, brown, and red catching the light. But if we're going to fly then.. well I'm a Gryffindor so I won't hesitate to try. But I'll probably need you to hold my hand. Or at the very least catch me when I, and I will, fall. And tell me I'm doing good.
I bet that you'll do fine. Silas must have rubbed off on you just a tad-at least!
Mia shot Scott a smile. While it was true that he rarely practiced Quidditch alongside his star brother, he couldn't be that bad. Merlin, Mia practiced less than a dozen times with Silas and was still ahead of most of the other first years-so much so that she had a shot at being a chaser on her house's team!
And you know I won't pad your ego Scott, I'm not that kind of person.
And she wouldn't. Unless it was someone new, or someone she wanted to brownnose. And she definitely did not want to brownnose Scott. He was above that.
Thinking back to her comment, Mia furrowed her brow. She didn't mean to insult him-he wasn't an egomaniac, obviously-but it might have come across like that. But it was Scott. He understood her in ways that she didn't understand herself. She would just have to trust him not to get mad at her.
Turning her head the slightest bit so that she faced the rest of the group, Mia placed a smile on her face and motioned with her hand towards the pitch.
Let's go!

I know you...Who is she?
Reducio
I have no idea where Arabella went, so I'm going to assume she ran off to class or something.
Taking a deep (if not shaky) breath, Ami plastered on a wide smile as the Alexander cousins bantered back and forth about flying and Scott's ego. Certainly, an interesting conversation to say the least. Arabella left to go to class, or something, but at that point, Ami wasn't paying attention.
Normally, Ami was always up for a good fly around- unless she was in the presence of other people. The only person who had ever seen her fly this year was Lorelai Brunelle, and even flying with someone that close and trusted had freaked her out. Well, so had the massive bird flying at her, causing her to sprain her ankle, but that was a whole nother story to tell for another time.
Mia seemed pumped and ready to fly, and Ami tried to mimic her attitude. "Yeah! Let's go!" She turned to follow the Slytherin down to the pitch, a few paces behind her. The fake smile slipped from her face, morphing into one of sickly apprehension.
Feeling her stomach clench into knots, Ami went to grab three brooms before Mia or Scott could see her face. Upon her return, all there was to see was a carefully placed smile. "Alright, ready to go?"
