Grindylows
Syrah grinned, she was happy these students were all so willing to see such a dangerous creature. She had attempted to get a teacher on board for this meeting, but all seemed too busy at the end of the year, and so she failed in that regard. However, she had an idea up her sleeve. Well, more like in her backpack wrapped in paper and in a plastic bag. She wasn't sure her idea would work, but God, she hoped so.
"Well I don't know Accio, unfortunately." She responded to Dinah's idea, it was a good one, but they were only first years. "However, I might have something that works almost as well." She knew, even if this did work, the group wouldn't be able to see a Grindlylow up close, or be able to study it very well. But it might make the kids excited and revived in the idea of the club. And at the very least, show them how dangerous the little devils could be.
With that thought she opened her pack and grabbed the idea item in question, holding it up for everyone to see. Since it was all covered up, it wasn't obvious at first, but once she started to unwrap the thing, with clear distaste on her face, the kids around her would slowly get the idea, or at least the smell that was wafting out of the bag. Soon enough she pulled an, old, rotting fish out and, quickly, while giving a good look at her group, threw it hard into the lake.
She watched intently to where the thing landed. it floated, something she had tested out before since she specifically did not want it to sink. The seconds seemed to stop and the waiting was excruciating. Please, please work, she chanted in her head as she stared. However, it must be her lucky day, soon she started to see some movement around the fish, her eyes grew wide with excitement.
A few more second passed of movement, and then the water erupted. The Grindylows had taken the bait and were attacking the dead fish, very similar to how a regular group of fish would feed on some dropped food at the top of the water. But these things were violent, and in the commotion one could sometimes catch a glimpse of a tiny hand, or tentacle. Like she thought, it wasn't a very good view of them, but it was the best they could do at the moment.
