Poems of Love & War
Tucked away in a small, leather encased notebook, is the pining and stories of many a student. While tucked away, the notebook is barely visible-save a flash of burgundy and blue once in a while. But when found by a student, and opened, a plethora of poems flutter out, all written by authors in the past. A single line, a single rule, is etched into the cover. "For these are the poems of love and war. Contribute, Take, Cry. These are what is ever timeless."

I once..
i once heard of a rose
who tip toed around morose
she fell under the spell
and went straight to hell
for the spell that saved her went
and so her heart bent
and down the window she goes
and her heart all but froze
but in the pits of despair
she wandered upon a rope of hair
that pulled her up to the sky
saying "you'll never have to say goodbye"
and so she swore off all those spells
and this story she all but tells
for one person would not relent
so down the hole and went
and even love couldn't save the rose
so she killed herself-i suppose
so the moral of the story is
true love doesn't exist

Poems of Love & War
the cyclops has only one eye but he still cries
Rheims "Cyclops" Goldberg
June 2nd, 1973
the one-eyed man looks out the window, forlorn.
he has but one love, one drive, and it's gone.
and so tears cascade, like a melody in his head.
and for the first time, he did not want to help others anymore.
he had nothing to say.
it would be impossible, indeed.
the footsteps echoed those of his heartbeat.
and he shut off his only connection with the world.

Abracadabra

hey guess whatHey guess WHAT
my mom and i fight all the time
i have panic attacks every day
I’m not sure that my mom and dad accept who i am
mudblood stings
but i only let you see the last one. and not even the full thing. i’m sorry that we can’t all be unfeeling shells.
devoid of pity
devoid of dramatics
And you’re not the only saint
do i talk about my dead aunt?
how my dad went to the hospital and i thought that i’d never see him again?
no.
so i may not be a saint. but guess what. being a saint is overrated.
we all have our ant hills. but yours isn’t the only mountain.

Poems of Love & War
Hope you don't mind me posting a poem! If you do, I will of course delete it ASAP.
Why did she have to go?
My fingers, thin, small, slender.
Running over the lines on my face
where I should be able to see, to look, to watch
the world.
but no. Never again.
the flash of a spell?
the bang of a curse?
things which can destroy
all my world...
And the last thing my left eye saw
was her face.
No scar, no flaw,
cold and stiff, the warmth oozing out of her.
Why did she have to go?
Just because they didn't like her race.
Just because she couldn't show
any magic in her family tree...
her heart was magic.
So was she.
Rosie, I miss you.
In loving memory.
I wish you were here.
We could tell everyone the truth, together.
But without you, all my words are gone.
Forever.
You took them with you, Rose.
