The Better House Closed

Evelyn blinked. Acromantulas? She knew about those! Though they seemed to make Emma nervous. The least she could do was confirm what she said. Maybe that would calm her down?

"They do. I think they killed a teacher once-" she blinked "-or was it the centaurs? I'm fairly certain they both kill humans but i'm note sure who it was."

Lorelai was getting comfortable on the tail. She would've been doing the same but she didn't want to get her scarf dirty. Lorelai had mentioned how dangerous animals made houses seem more strong. Now that she thought about it they were all Predators to some degree weren't they? A snake, a badger, a lion, and an eagle. Apex predators or close to it in their food chain. She silently wondered if it was done or purpose or not. While she was thinking she came across a couple words that might've worked for what Lorelai was trying to say.

"Professional? Like how you don't question a doctor if they have the scrubs? Do other magic schools have houses? If so is the predatory animal a standard?" While Evelyn knew some stuff about magical history it wasn't her strong suite. Which is why she differed to the other two for answers. They seemed like smart people.

Lorelai nodded at the girls, both were right about Acromantulas. “Yeah they kill and eat people sometimes,” She looked at Evelyn. “Centaurs kill people sometimes too, but usually not without a cause. Also, I’m pretty sure they don't eat humans. And I think both of them live in the Forbidden Forest so either one could have killed a teacher. I bet whatever happened was really interesting.”Lorelai noted that she would research that topic later, as it sounded pretty interesting.

Lorelai listened to Evelyn talk about how all houses animals were at least predatory to an extent and posing a question about whether other school houses had it. “Hm, yeah maybe professional is the right word. Umm...I know that Ilvermorny, the American school, has houses. I can’t remember all of them though. I know there’s a Wampus house. They’re sort of like a cougar, so they’re predators. And Thunderbird is also one of their houses. I think they’re a predator but I’m not sure. Large birds like that are usually predators, right?”She thought for a minute. Nothing else came to mind. Her knowledge of other schools was much more limited than her knowledge of animals. “That’s all the other wizard school houses I can think of.”

Emma gasped a bit. She couldn't believe such a thing could have so much force. She imagined the same hairy leg that outweighed her at least thrice, another shudder came with this thought. It didn't make it better that one of those hairy creatures had killed a teacher, much less from Hogwarts. How could the two talk about something like Acromantulas as easy as that?

She returned her focus to the conversation that still seemed to be going on. The brunette was fairly glad that the conversation had switched. She would have fancied a trip to the forest if it weren't for the recent conversation. Ilvermorny. She had known a few about it, and it seemed the Lorelai had too. She was glad to talk about something she had known about.

"Wampus? That sounds extremely ridiculous. I'm only able to remember one myself, but isn't there a house named Pukwudgie... it's... well, like the Hufflepuff of our school-" Emma looked at Evelyn for a moment before continuing her statement "-Healers, mostly I presume, I've never quite really understood the emblem though." She drew the emblem mentally as she said these words. She had always imagined the emblem being an Indian.
