Arthur sat at the piano in the grand music room of Klein manor, playing absently while he waited for his father to get done with work. School had just ended for the year, which always meant a mad scramble to find something for him to do over the summer. At eleven, his mother was still reluctant to leave him alone at the house all day while she was at work. But summer programs were expensive and hard to come by. And so, she'd reluctantly turned to his father for help. They were supposed to be going to downtown Berlin today, but when he'd arrived, he could find nothing in the house besides a note saying some urgent work came up and it would only take a couple hours.

It was late afternoon when Marcus Klein finally emerged from his study, saw him sitting at the piano, clearly panicked, and looked at his watch. At which point, Arthur couldn't help but laugh. He really didn't mind. He understood that this was a change for his father as well, and that it would take some getting used to on both sides. Anyway, it was nice getting to practice during the summer. Usually he could only play on his school's piano.

"Oh, Mensch! Arthur, I'm sorry. Time got away from me."
"It's okay. Do you want to go now?" he asked, to which the man looked even guiltier.
"I can't. I have a meeting," he said regretfully. "You know, I think they have a girl in Hogwarts though. You two should meet," he said, clearly trying to be optimistic.

"When are they arriving?" Arthur asked, hoping he could at least get something to eat first, but his father was already looking towards the fireplace.

"Uh.. Now," he said.

Aurelia was the heir to both the Bezuidenhout and Schütte bloodline. Two very strong families that most wizards should have heard of. She had the burden put on her shoulders when she was seven years of age. Since then, for every meeting her family members attended, she had to tag along, at least if she wasn't at school. Most twelve year olds would be on a vacation during the summer break, but here Aurelia was, following her family to a meeting.

Today both her uncle and mother was attending a meeting to discuss about arrangements with someone from the German Ministry of Magic so that the Schütte company could engage in further affairs and expansions without getting sued for any reasons big or small. Aurelia had to know all these stuff so she might be able to "lead the company to greater heights" in the future according to her Grandmother's words. Paperwork and more paperwork.

For years, every meeting Aurelia was brought along to, she would be seating silently as she listened to all the adults had to say. She dreaded the time there not able to do anything fun a young child should be doing. It would probably be the same situation this time round.

"Aurelia, your uncle is here. We are leaving soon, are you ready?" Her mother had called her from the entrance of the Bezuidenhout mansion. The girl trotted down the steps to meet her uncle, a tall blond man in his late 30s. Her dress was not easy to walk in, Thellea had always told her daughter to dress business casually whenever she attended meetings. Her Father, as usual, was busy at work and couldn't make it for the meeting. After all, Adebard's work had nothing to do with the Schütte business, they were completely different occupations.

Her mother had told her the meeting was going to be in Germany. Aurelia even though half German, had not been to the country for a long time. Her mother held her hand towards the brunette. Aurelia put her smaller hand on hers. Immediately with a woosh, they had apparated in front of a huge wooden door. Although the floo powder furnace network was an efficient method of transportation, the Schütte prefered apparation instead. They had apparated on the grounds and approached the house, sophisticated mansion. Thellea pushed the button of the door bell.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mister Klein." Mr Schütte ( Aurelia's uncle )had said once the door opened.

"Ah! That must be them," he said as they heard the door bell ring. The music room was just off to the side of the main hall and entrance. You could tell from the wide, glass-paned doors that it was designed to open up entirely into the main room, probably so the instruments could be heard throughout the hall while entertaining.

Sliding off of the piano stool, Arthur followed his father out towards the entrance curiously. "Good Afternoon Mr. Schütte, Mrs. Bezuidenhout," his father was saying, as he opened the door. He put a hand on Arthur's shoulder. "This is my youngest son, Arthur. He'll be going to Hogwarts next year," he explained, hoping the two would find something to talk about. While he really didn't mean to forget, he was somewhat saved by having Arthur there. He'd heard before that the Bezuidenhouts often took their daughter along for meetings, to learn the family trade. That was all well and good when it came to business, but there were understandable concerns with letting a child sit in on a meeting that included details of their country's foreign policy.

The Schüttes were hoping to expand their business as smoothly as possible. And, in turn, the Ministry was interested in what their business could do for the economy (and were probably hoping to extract some exclusive trade contracts from them as well). They were far from negotiating those sorts of details right now, though. This was just an initial meeting to go over their plans and what laws or policies might apply to them. Working in the Bureau of International Cooperation, Marcus was an expert in international magical law. And the current mindset was, the more business the better. Especially if it would bring in jobs and export revenue that could be pointed to as a political 'win'.

"You'll have to wait down here, I'm afraid," he said to the both of them. "Security concerns and all. You understand?" he added to the two adults. "Please, make yourself at home," he told them as he showed the other two to the room where they could have their meeting.

Once the adults had left the room, Arthur turned to Aurelia, wondering just what his dad was expecting them to do here. He'd barely even learned the layout of the house yet. "Hi," Arthur said, grateful to his after-school language club that he at least knew that much German. He'd been studying it more seriously since meeting his dad's side of the family, and could now understand about 90% of what was said to him. Still, this was going to be a fairly boring conversation if she didn't know any English. "Uh.. You hungry?" he asked, mostly because he was, but it also seemed like the polite thing to ask when you were hosting.

Moving things along a little bit. Hope that's okay!

Heinrich, Thellea and Aurelia stepped into the building. Aurelia out on a smile politely when the man introduced the boy. He then explained that the girl couldn't attend the meeting. Aurelia was mentally jumping for joy at the information but she wasn't sure if mother felt the same.

"Yes, it's understandable." Her mother told the Mr Klein. Turning to Aurelia, she spoke in Dutch, "It shouldn't be too long, probably an hour. Behave yourself and don't cause any trouble. The brunette nodded. BeBoth her Uncle and Mother followed Me Klein into the room.
Hi, Uh you hungry?
The boy asked in German. Aurelia wasn't very fluent in the language. She had only started learning on the language when she was 8. She hoped that the boy knew at least a bit of English, he was going to Hogwarts soon after all, almost all the students in the school knew English.

"No, I've already ate my lunch." she said, switching to English. If he happened not to know the language then she would continue using German.

" Hogwarts, huh? Do you know anything about magic yet?" Aurelia asked trying to spark up a bit of a conversation. She really hoped she didn't have to use German.

Arthur looked visibly relieved when Aurelia switched and started speaking English. Thank goodness! He nodded. He'd just have to make something for himself later.. Unlike most pureblood families, his father didn't have any house elves on his estate, but an army of enchanted automata took over most of the household functions. Honestly, Arthur was relieved. He'd read a little about house elves and it kind of weirded him out. He could get one of the robot things to show him how to start the oven later.

"A bit," he said, nodding. The benefit of turning eleven and getting his letter early in the year was that he had lots of time to buy his textbooks before hand, and had read most of them already. Unfortunately, his father's library only has a small selection of books that were written in English, and the German ones were beyond him. "I've been reading about Herbology recently.. 'Encyclopedia of Magical Plants of the Labiatae Family'," he said, wrinkling his nose a little. The other down side of his father's library was that the target audience of most of his books seemed to be extremely dry scholars from the 1800s. "I'm not sure I understand it all, but hopefully it will make more sense in context." He shrugged. "Also, my sister has all kinds of weird magical creatures in her room," he added. That had been pretty interesting to see. She'd probably given him a year's worth of Care of Magical Creatures lessons just over the summer.

"So... you're in Hogwarts too?" he asked. He wasn't sure if that was really true or just something his dad made up to keep him from getting mad that he was bailing on their plans for the day. Since she was speaking English it seemed more likely though. "What house are you in?"

The boy had started talking about herbology. It wasn't a lesson the girl was interested in. Especially when the herbology professor in the school cared more about her plants than the students. She prefered more exciting classes on DADA and charms. She would learn some interesting spells.

Then the boy mentioned about his sister and the magical creatures. Magical creature were hard to tame and control it was impressive if someone were to even have it as a pet.

"Yes. I go to Hogwarts. " she had told him.

"Gryffindor. Your father mentioned you would be going to the school next year, which house do you hope to hear put in? You are aware how the sorting ceremony goes and the talking hat too... Are you?" She asked. The houses had some sort of reputation. Gryffindor students are mostly known for punching noses and obnoxiously breaking rules, though Aurelia still has a clean record, she had skipped a few classes before. Ravenclaws were just smart. Hufflepuff were mostly known as burnt Hufflepuff after the accident. Aurelia didn't want to think about Slytherins, she had quite a bad impression about them.

Then her eyes fell in a sleek black Grand piano across the room. It had clearly gotten her attention as she walked over and sat on the leather stool.

"Do you play?" Aurelia didn't but she wished she did know how. Her brother knew but now that he was gone, he couldn't play for her, Aurelia used to love singing as the rythmic notes emitted from the instrument with every note he played. Maybe this was an opportunity for her to do so, however, I might distrubt the adults meeting.

Arthur nodded. "I've read about it a bit," he said. Unfortunately, none of his relatives had ever been to Hogwarts (not his half siblings or his father) so they couldn't tell him much about it beyond the basics. Instead, he had to rely on the books that he'd bought for school to give him some insight. "My siblings all go to Durmstrang though," he explained.

He did at least know about the sorting ceremony though, and the four houses. He didn't have any strong favorites, though he was a little wary of Slytherin, if he was honest. There was nothing wrong with being ambitious, in his opinion, but it was the 'purest of blood' type stuff that put him off. As someone raised by a muggle, he doubted he could get along with that kind of person. "I'm not sure.. Maybe Ravenclaw?" he said. He was a bit of a bookish type, after all. On the other hand, he also enjoyed company more than anything and was fairly sporty, so who knew? "I'm sure any of them would be fine though."

Smiling brightly when Aurelia noticed the piano, Arthur nodded. "I play!" he said enthusiastically. He followed her over to the piano stool and sat down beside her. "Do you?" he asked. As he sat, he began to absently play some chords and progressions from the start of a song he knew. He didn't know what kind of music she liked though. "Any requests?" he asked. "I might not know it though," Broad genres he could probably do though.
