Practice makes Perfect!
Alma’s smile fell as she saw the quaffle pathetically fall to down towards the ground after hitting the edge of the hoop. Well, it was a good try on his part. She watched as he glided over with a defeated look, holding out the quaffle in his palm.
This was it. The first shot of her unexpected Quidditch career. Would she make it? This one shot determined if she was going to be a good chaser. Everything was riding on this one shot. This one shot. Maybe, if she was good enough, she could go on to be a professional. Or, maybe she wouldn’t make it. Maybe it would miss and she would fail and she would never make it as a-
Oh, screw it with the inner monologue. Just take the shot.
Alma rolled her eyes at her over dramatic train of thought before grabbing the quaffle, now determined. She quickly reared back on her broom and chucked the ball directly at the middle hoop with a small noise of effort.
It glided through the air almost in slow motion, watching it felt like years before she could finally take a breath - it went through perfectly!
Nothing but air. It didn’t even graze the edge. Now that’s progress. She smiled proudly, turning to her mentor as if asking was that impressive?
“So…when’s the first practice?”
