Falling Down Finished

@Sienna Lenoir

Swoosh! went Edward in his plane, as he swooped down close to the ground. The autumn breeze hit Edward's head differently due to his new-fresh haircut. It felt colder, it made a shiver go down Edward's spine, as he ran with his arms outstretched like the wings on a plane. The day was dreary, with the SQUISH! of wet grass underfoot and the not so vibrant glow of the sun. Even a buffoon could tell that last night it had rained, hard, it had left Edward with his internal boredom stuck inside. That day he had received a package from his mother during dinner, it was a plain black robe that had fit! His last robe had been to large and caused Edward to trip all over the place like a clumsy fool. To accompany the package was a letter from his mother and hair scissors, she had directed him to get a haircut, as it would make him a respectable young man, with help of a fellow student they were able to make it happen. He didn't like it, he felt like he was bald, even though his hair draped on his forehead and now it wasn't as hot anymore, he just thought it looked weird. Edward squinted as he tried to see through the pilot's goggles that were attached too a brown leather cap, it was a real pilot's helmet, his mother had gotten it for his birthday, it was still too big at the moment. His pace quickened as he ran faster, his vision becoming more and more blurred. Until, OOPS! BAM! Edward tripped on a rock that stayed planted on the ground, Edward went flying forward, BAM! Edward hit something else larger with full force and him and the object went hurling down the hill, he let out a shriek as he went tumbling hurting his shoulder. SPLA-SPLASH! Edward hit the water of the great lake as did the UFO next to him. It was freezing cold! It felt like needles stabbing at him, he held his breath and quickly swam to the surface. He took a deep breath as he made it, he pushed up his goggles so he could see, water pouring out of it. He looked around seeing that the UFO was actually another student....
She had long silky, now wet thanks to him, black hair, milky-pale skin, and silvery-blue eyes that looked like his mother's, she was obviously an older student... Edward was in shock...

The crisp autumn air nipped at Sienna as she walked along the grounds of Hogwarts. Days like these were hard to pass up inside, what with the chill in the air and the falling leaves dripping with bright and vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold. The Gryffindor walked without a care in the world, too absorbed in the moment to trouble herself with any thoughts that were not of this splendid day. The wind took the time to rush past, blowing Sienna's black hair across her face, making it nearly impossible for her to see anything for a few seconds.

Those few seconds were enough for several things to happen at once however. As she pushed her hair away from her face, she registered the shape of a boy flying towards her completely out of control just before his body collided with hers. Catching her off guard, both the boy and Sienna tumbled down the dead grass of the hill and into the lake. The freezing water gave the girl a nasty shock, and for a moment, she was frozen in place, unmoving under the surface of the water. When she came to her senses, she pushed her arms upward and swam to the surface. Gasping, she drew one hand across her face, rubbing the water out of her eyes to clear her vision. She could feel herself shivering in the waves.

She certainly had a few colorful things to say to whomever this boy that had tripped her up was. Catching sight of the boy quick enough, she opened her mouth to speak, but stopped. The boy was pushing up his goggles, which water had clearly gotten into. He wore a helmet, similar to a muggle pilot. The mere sight of his sopping wet appearance made Sienna forget the rude words she had been ready to say. Instead a smile broke out on her face and she laughed. "Sorry," she managed after a moment. "I can't imagine I look any better in this state," she said good naturedly.

She looked angry for a split second as if she was about to tell him off, before she broke into a smile laughing. It took a second to realized it was because they were soaked to the bone.
"Sorry," she managed after a moment. "I can't imagine I look any better in this state," she said good naturedly.
Edward let out a small laugh, he was happy that she wasn't angry or super mad, or even sad... That had to be the worst. But instead she was smiling and laughing unbothered about his accident, Edward smiled, because her smile was contagious.
"Not really," He joked. "I'm just joking though, I'm sorry for running into you, causing you to fall down a hill and dowsing you in the lake..."
Edward felt tremendous guilt, because he wasn't paying attention she was soaking wet, and probably really cold.
"I'll make you a brownie to make it up to you," He hoped he could show his apologies in some way, whenever his mother got mad or upset at him or anything, he would bake her something to make her feel better. He hoped that it would work in this case too, everything can be solved with a bit of sugar! Once they got back to land, he wrung out the water in his scarf, hoping it could warm him, but no luck, it was super hard to walk with big wet clothes, it added so much weight.
"My name is Edward Edwards," He said smiling at the dark-haired girl...

As the other boy smiled, it was clear that neither of the two felt any anger towards the other. Sienna was slightly irritated, truth be told, at the freezing wet state she was in currently, but she didn't let that bother her too much. Instead, she concentrated on the more important task at hand: treading the frigid water and getting out of the water quickly so as to not get hypothermia from the condition the two were in. "Don't worry about it. No harm no foul." Truthfully, she believed there might be some harm if they lingered in the water for any longer than they already had.

She smiled at his offer, "Thanks. Now we should probably get back to the less freezing temperatures of land." They hadn't tumbled that far out into the lake, but because of what was sure mutual panic and thrashing until the surface of the water, they had drifted away from land by a small distance. Bracing herself for the chill of swimming through the waves, Sienna sighed and began swimming through the icy water back to the bank of the lake.

When she was able to, she waded through the water until finally there was solid ground underneath her feet once more. The boy was wringing out a drenched scarf, looking for the warmth it could not provide. Looking up at her with a smile, he introduced himself as Edward Edwards. A funny sounding name, but to each their own. "I'm Sienna Lenoir," she replied. "Nice to meet you Edward, though I would have liked it better if we had met in less chilly circumstances," she teased.

Edward felt tremendous guilt, because he wasn't paying attention she was soaking wet, and probably really cold.
"Don't worry about it. No harm no foul," Edward smiled, he knew that wasn't true, I mean if she got sick is would be a harm.
"I'll make you a brownie to make it up to you," He hoped he could show his apologies in some way, whenever his mother got mad or upset at him or anything, he would bake her something to make her feel better. He hoped that it would work in this case too, everything can be solved with a bit of sugar!
"Thanks. Now we should probably get back to the less freezing temperatures of land," Irina said obviously not being able to handle this freezing water anymore that he could, he only nodded.
Once they got back to land, he wrung out the water in his scarf, hoping it could warm him, but no luck, it was super hard to walk with big wet clothes, it added so much weight.
"My name is Edward Edwards," He said smiling at the dark-haired girl...
"I'm Sienna Lenoir," she replied. "Nice to meet you Edward, though I would have liked it better if we had met in less chilly circumstances," Irina teased.
"Cool name!" He smiled, he was very genuine about his compliment, he also wished they had met under different circumstances, but he was glad he met her. "Fate is weird, but it's better that we embrace it.... If we don't fall down how would we get up again?" Edward said.
Edward was someone who really spoke his mind, even if it didn't make any sense or had nothing to do what was going on. He was just weird like that. He pulled back on his goggles on his helmet over his curious dark eyes.
"It was nice meeting you, Miss Lenoir but you see I'm in World War II, aircraft, I must bid you good bye... I will pay our debt soon enough!"
He saluted Sienna and ran off disappearing as quickly as he came.... Maybe they would meet agai. Or maybe not... It was a mystery only fate could decide... Or maybe the fate we decide....

As he complimented her on her name, she smiled again. "Thank you." Though the circumstances the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor had met in were certainly out of the ordinary, the chance meeting happened to be precisely the thing to make the day brighter. Something about Edward's upbeat and cheery personality was contagious. Sienna was glad he had run into her, even if it had resulted in a chilling and unexpected dip in the freezing waters.

"Fate is weird, but it's better that we embrace it.... If we don't fall down how would we get up again?" Edward asked, showing unusual depth in the words. She didn't typically hear students at Hogwarts go so deep with such simple sentences. "That's very true," she said in agreement. Reaching up, he pulled his goggles back down to cover his eyes. Again saying it was nice to meet her, he spoke some rather odd things about World War II and aircraft before running off.

If Sienna hadn't been shivering from the still wet state she was in, she might have thought that the entire interaction had never happened. As fast as he had run into her, he had disappeared into the afternoon. What a strange boy, Sienna thought with a smirk on her face. Strange, but kind.
