The stage had been set. This was their show. All had been put in motion to give their imagination free reign to grasp and mould as it pleased. Shape, create, unmake; whatever they wished. The possibilities were endless, and the restrictions bare. All you have to do is imagine. My elation could not be hidden. I was overjoyed when the first of them, Ms Steele, stepped forward boldly to prove just what the power of her mind is capable of. A waterbed. Quite a nice touch, decorated in blue and green. The divider, barring her space and naming it hers. The lights. Oh, the lights! "Remarkable Ms Steele! Truly breathtaking!" She deserved all the praise. It was simple, but she had easily accomplished the task laid before her with aplomb.

I quickly ushered the others to follow suit, and they wasted no time in selecting their own sections of the grand room that would never be found wanting for space or size. Where Ms Steele had chosen the far right, Ms Flores had chosen the left, first envisioning her partition before bringing it into being. This one was studious, I knew, and I watched her with rapt interest as she conjured her thoughts into reality. It took the semblance of a fully furnished single room made for comfort and design, and the curtains of blue and silk were enough to warn all potential intruders against the act. I could not resist gliding with quick, lilting steps towards her curtain, pushing it aside to peer at her sitting on the bed. My eyes were aglow with fascination as I spared a moment to view all that she had done. "I expected nothing less, Ms Flores!"

Next up was Ms Hana, who chose a space closest to, yet distant enough from Ms Flores. Her makings were every bit as simple as Ms Flores' were not. A bed and a nightstand, with the image of a fleur-de-lis. Did the symbol hold some great significance or was it simply something that appealed to her? "Wonderful, Ms Hana," I chimed in, the smile they were unused to seeing adding to my radiance. Mr Banes was next, and I watched with silent interest as he produced the images from his thoughts. It took me a moment to catch what semblance the bed had taken, but once I saw the Hippogriff on the ceiling, I knew. "All the possibilities, Mr Banes." I parted with that to see how the others were faring.

Mr Goodlow was more ambitious than the others had been, conjuring an entire room rather than partitions to bar his space. I took note of the various instruments meant for artists and appraised the simplicity of his room. A simple, very gentle soul this one. "Nicely done." Next was Ms Silverberry, and she seemed to move particularly close to the space occupied by Ms Steele. Was there a friendship there? A sharp intake of breath could be heard from me as the large egg took shape. This was a testament to her imaginative prowess, and I felt compelled to close the distance and smooth my hand gently along the surface of the thing. "Exquisite!" It was something to be praised, and I was truly impressed by the visual appeal it presented from the exterior.

Ms Rook was next to step to the plate, and I watched quietly as she did her work. The subtle yet prominent colours were a nice addition. What truly won me over was the transition of the gold and silver floor into rosewood. The further along they went, the more I got to see of how each of their minds worked. So far no one had made duplicates of any detail or design. Everyone was an individual, offering points in my book. But just as there were those who displayed time and effort in affecting change through following basic instructions, there were those who simply did all in their power to sour my mood. I turned expectantly to see some imagination taking place, and was stunned speechless when I noticed two things.

The first was that Mr Fleur was offering me a bovine stare, a look I returned with a glare that spoke volumes. The second was Ms Parker and the loud thud that could be heard as she fell to the floor, hard. I pinched the bridge of my nose and closed my eyes tight, allowing myself the reprieve I needed to relax. They would not spoil my fun. "Mr Fleur. Ms Parker. I presume you are both incapable of imagination? I can divine no other vindication for such beggarly ineptitude." With a flourish, I gestured to each of the others' creations, showing them what I had expected. "Or am I to take this as your asseveration of the fact that you both wish to sleep on the cold, hard ground?" Maybe I was wrong in my rebuke and they preferred sleeping on the floor like animals. I looked at Ms Parker.

"I assume from the fall that you believed there to be a bed there? Alas, you failed to follow my earlier instructions in that regard. 'Envision it in your mind's eye, direct the power of your thoughts through your wand and project your will into the world.' Your wand, Ms Parker. You are to channel your thoughts through your wand." With a sharp clap of my hands I effectively shut the window of opportunity for protest. "That will be all! For those of you who followed instructions, fabulous work! Such resplendent quality is what I live for. As for those who failed..." I cast a sideways look to the two. "You will find that, try as you might, you will no longer have the luxury of conjuring your own room areas. You may entreat to the others to allow sharing of their space." I whirled on my heels and walked away from them, voicing the truth with my retreat. "Or you may sleep on the floor."

I paused in the dead centre of the grand room, the exact same spot I had been in when they first entered. I outstretched both arms in true actorly fashion and my theatrics returned full force. "Wonderful work, my Lethifolds! Truly stunning! This is the power one can derive from one's own imagination. Think it. Dream it. Believe it. The world is yours. Know this as the absolute truth and you will find that you may do with it as you please." I turned and pointed my wand to the ceiling in the direction of Ms Steele's light. The beauteously patterned light started to spread until it permeated the entire upper layer of the large space in an instant. It was done so carefully that ceiling effects, such as Mr Banes' Hippogriff, would find themselves clearly visible and undisturbed. "I rather like this one. Now. Use this time to fully unpack and mingle to your heart's content. I shall be in my own room tending to some stodgy teacher stuff. If you need me, I am but a thought away."

With that, I left them to their own devices. They could use the time to do as they please before it was time to turn in for the night. It was getting rather late, and they would need their rest for the fun activities we the professors had planned for them. As I walked to my room, a sudden flash of memory stopped me in my tracks, and with a smile, I turned back to face the room once more. "And remember. We are the Lethifolds." Sinistrous words that seemed to mean nothing. I left them with that and entered my room, shutting the door quietly behind me.

"We are the Lethifolds." Edric wasn't sure what exactly to take from that. Should they imagine themselves as creatures that came silently through the night to devour unsuspecting humans in their sleep, while the dreamt? Or did he mean that they should work together, be a team, a we? ...where there lessons in Valtomish? He thought their professor to be quite brilliant, had seen his genius for potions with his own eyes, but he didn't understand half of what the beautiful man - half-elf - said nine out of ten times.

Despite the vague warning, because that was it had been to Edric, his mood was actually rising. Professor Valtome had reminded him of all the possibilities and while it hadn't quite been praise, the unexpected, bright smile on his pretty face that had accompanied the words had given him the feeling that the professor had been pleased enough.

The girls had done way better than him, of course. Syrah had conjured that impressive display of colorful lights, and now that Professor Valtome had made it's light take over the ceiling the whole room was illuminated from above. It looked like a night sky devoid of all clouds.

The possibilities.

Edric suddenly grinned. Of course. He jumped onto his bed, pointing his wand at the pillows and only a second and the memory of fluffy comfort later they were filled with feathers and had become incredibly soft, just as he liked them. Lying back he wiggled around until he was in a position from where he could see most of the ceiling, save the spaces hidden by curtains and dividers. This was the night sky, the decided, vaster and than any other place and filled with all those the distant stars they'd learnt about in Astronomy.

Butterwing screeched at him, and as he pointed his wand at the ceiling and imagined his voice Edric would actually hear his friend. Smiling gleefully he closed his eyes and imagined Silvertalon, Butter's sister, with her dapple gray coat and cream and white feathers, a single shade dark than her brother's. Swiftfeather came next, older than her children and with darker, brown, wings and the scar under her left eye. Fly, he thought and opened his eyes two watch three pairs of golden eyes staring back at him. This time when he imagined their voices the answering screeches were not only in his head however, but echoed throughout the room.

He let out a surprised, pretty undignified squeak. "Sorry, guys," he told the others slightly embarrassed while he sat up, his eyes following the Hippogriffs as they flew away into the night.

The power of this mysterious tent was incredible, he decided, and vowed to be more careful with what he imagined in here.

Looking around he noticed the two students Professor Valtome had been angry at, a brown-haired Hufflepuff girl and Slytherin boy he couldn't remember having seen before, which was strange because the boy was really, incredibly pretty. Not as much as the professor, but it would be ridiculous to compare a normal human to a half-elf, even Edric understood that.

Both of them had no beds and cupboards. The professor had said that they would need the others to get a place to sleep for themselves. "Hey," he greeted the blond boy, who was standing closer to him. "I'm Edric Banes, nice to meet you. I don't think we've met before." He extended his hand for a shake, wondering about the thick gloves the other Slytherin was wearing.

"That which yields is not always weak."

Well. Yeah, that'll do it.

Rosie must've spaced out on that instruction, because instead of jumping onto the bed, her butt met the cold, hard floor. "Ouchies!" She yelped, her knees scrambling up to her chest. She sniffled and looked up to Valtome.

"Mr Fleur. Ms Parker. I presume you are both incapable of imagination? I can divine no other vindication for such beggarly ineptitude."

Rosie huffed. This is why she was afraid of the potion's professor, for this exact reason. She knew there would be multiple instances like this, because whether the young girl wanted to admit it or not, she was an airhead sometimes. Things had already taken a bad turn and Rosie had been in the cabin for less than five minutes. She couldn't help but stomp her foot lightly when Valtome mentioned they wouldn't be able to make their own bed. That wasn't any fair! Second chances didn't exist, she guessed. She crossed her arms and resisted the urge to call Valtome a big stinky poopoo doodoo head who looked like a mop with ears. There was also the fact Rosie couldn't understand the last half of what he said. She hated when he used big words.

But now was the hard part, not only did she need to share with someone, but she had to ask someone in here. Nobody she knew, that is. Max and Eris carrying a Rosie sized dufflebag into their cabin didn't seem like such a bad idea anymore. She couldn't help but pout as she looked around the room, annoyed and frustrated with herself. But also Valtome. Because he was stinky.

Rosie sighed and turned towards... Elora? Was that her name? She fiddled with her hands nervously and walked up behind her, tapping her shoulder. "Um.. Is it okay if I can.. Share?" She said, awkwardly. "I know it's kind of my fault that I don't have a bed but I have to make do... It's okay if you don't want to! I just kinda need to sleep somewhere with... Someone, I guess, until I can find something to make it comfortable enough to sleep on the floor." She sighed. "I'm sorry." Rosie rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly.

This was gonna suck.

Interacting with Lyonel and Edric.
Angela blushed, hearing Valtome's praise, and listened more closely to what he had to say. He was actually quite friendly to everyone, besides two people who he scolded for not adhering to the instructions. There was something truly inspiring in his words about dreams and imagination. Maybe he's not that bad after all? At least he has a good taste, thought Angela, observing the ceiling, now fully covered in pretty lights of a starry night. Such a simple, and yet powerful decoration.

She looked around on other's creations - they were so different! Some seemed boring to her, others were really creative, or at least had some fun elements. But one particularly drew her attention. Especially after the loud Hippogriff screech.

She came up to Edric, who was currently talking to Lyonel. Hey, cool nest, Edric!, she threw in excitedly. She couldn't wait with the compliment, this nest-resembling bed was such a great idea, even if the professor didn't like it. I hope I'm not interrupting you guys, it's just, I really love Hippogriffs too! And these guys at the ceiling, they are so cute! Seriously, well done. I don't know if you remember, but I'm Angela, by the way.

Kyden sat in the doorway of his room watching the other students. He wondered if others thought of him as selfish for conjuring up a whole room. He looked around taking in the spaces others had made for themselves. He then took to surveying each of the other students. He recognized a few faces from being in the same house as him but as far as he could tell nobody he had ever interacted with was in this cabin.

"Perfect!" He thought to himself.  Now would be a great time to get to know others and make new friends. He had always heard camp was great for that. He turned to look into his room and thought of something that would complete the room. He closed his eyes and envisioned the bed being just a slight bit smaller and then a hanging hammock chair. He opened his eyes, smiling when he saw it there.

He walked out of his room and headed over towards a girl lying on her bed (Rosie). He knew he had seen her around. He was pretty sure that during the school year she was a Hufflepuff like his 2 best friends. He smiled at her and stuck out his hand. "Hello I'm Kyden. It's great to meet you."

Asteria watched as Professor Valtome scolded two students, a Slytherin boy and Hufflepuff a girl. It seems they had come late and as a result missed the professors speech. Neither one of them had created their personal space and her new head of house did not seem to take that too kindly. "Mr Fleur. Ms Parker. I presume you are both incapable of imagination? I can divine no other vindication for such beggarly ineptitude." Professor Valtome said."Or am I to take this as your asseveration of the fact that you both wish to sleep on the cold, hard ground?" Asteria felt awkward just listening to the conversation. To ease the awkwardness she felt,  Asteria thought about a song her mother likes to sing whenever she does things around the house.

Asteria quickly pulled herself away from her train of thought once she saw the professor outstretch his arms. "Wonderful work, my Lethifolds!" he said. "Truly stunning! This is the power one can derive from one's own imagination. Think it. Dream it. Believe it. The world is yours. Know this as the absolute truth and you will find that you may do with it as you please." When he finished speaking, the potions professor raised his wand and pointed toward one of the students star-like ceilings. Asteria watched as the beautiful lights spread across the ceiling.

"I rather like this one. Now. Use this time to fully unpack and mingle to your heart's content. I shall be in my own room tending to some stodgy teacher stuff. If you need me, I am but a thought away." he began to walk away, only stopping to say one thing more. "And remember. We are the Lethifolds." and with that he was gone. Asteria turned to her dresser and bed and began to unpack. 'We are the Lethifolds.' the words were stuck in Asteria's mind. At first glance, it seems like nothing more than a simple comment, and it would be...if he only said it once. Twice he had stated that sentence and twice he had emphasized the word 'We'. Was he trying to tell us something? or was it just part of the act? Once she was finished unpacking, Asteria took out a book and sat on her bed. As she began to read, a loud screech echoed through the room. Lowering her book, Asteria's green eyes scanned the room for the source of the sound;"Sorry, guys." said the boy with the Hippogriff bed. Asteria simply blinked and returned to her book, regaining her concentration.

Lyonel listened to his professor, the man he admired the most, in disbelief. Where was he supposed to sleep then? He clearly won’t sleep anywhere near one of the others. That would be just… disgusting. He would not sleep at all then, at some point the Professor would have to take responsibility or Lyonel would make him take responsibility. A sigh escaped his lips as he took a look at his backpack, glad that he brought at least some books to occupy himself. He could simply read until the next morning, that should not be difficult – he had done it before and he could do it again. His thin gloves he was wearing would keep away all the dirt from him, he could even touch the stuff in the Cabin of Lethifolds without having to panic, really convenient.

When a student spoke to him, a boy his age, Lyonel raised his eyebrow and stared at the hand the boy hold out for him to take, he just nodded slightly. He would not take the others hand, physical contact was rare with him. ”Lyonel Fleur” He said with a frown on his face, he did not need the others pity. He simply walked over to the wall that could have been his room and leant against the wall. His space was close the space of a Ravenclaw [Celynne], a bit of light was also reaching his space so he took out one of his books and began reading. It had a dark green cover with silver emblems and read “A Potioneer’s Handbook”.

The books title is from my imagination, but I am sure that it must exist…

Semper Paratus.

Sighing, the girl was surprised that she felt pity for the two students neglected by the Potions professor-- though, of course, it was not anyone else's fault except their own. And... and that sounded heartless again. She had, however, a slight smile-- a rare sight indeed-- on her face due to Professor Valtome's praise of her own creation. Most, Cel knew, might be miffed at the notion that he expected nothing less of them, as in the fact that they had not exceeded expectations in the slightest, but for herself, it was only an encouragement to go further-- and, she knew, his expectations for her were not so low. Always prepared was what the quote meant, and she regretted that some students did not seem so prepared.

Pity, however, did no work at all. For a moment she considered her next action, and then she rose slowly from the comfort of her suspended bed, stepping gently and carefully to the edge of the wide quarter-circle. With a careful hand, she parted the stagnant silken strands, noting the peculiar chime of glass against glass as the light beads were brushed aside by her slender fingers. As soon as she stepped through and her skin no longer contacted the blue curtain, the whimsical music fell silent, silent and still. How eccentric and how beautiful; the two were very often synonymous.

"Hello," Cel called softly to the white-blonde boy with blue eyes, simply because he was closer. She did have the reading loft to offer to him, even if he decided not to actually sleep there, but the angle of the light, the placement of the pillows, and the structure of the space were all specifically intended toward a reader's delight. He was reading, a Potions book too and one that she had skimmed through once as she found it in Parker's Brobdingnagian bookshelves. What a great word that was, Brobdingnagian.

She continued, hoping he was listening and not glued to the book as she often became. Her hands were folded as she spoke. "Would you like to lodge in my reading loft?" There. The question was asked, and she cast her gaze toward the wall beside his head, a trick she had learned to appear as if looking toward a person's eyes without needing to. Her head tilted inquisitively, a cascade of black-teal hair falling in place to cover the right side of her face and to partially obscure the view from her right eye, Cel began to back into the singing curtain again, jerking her head toward the loft as she went, hoping he might follow.

Gone was the pity, replaced by a visceral sense of wishing to help, one that she typically ignored-- but she'd offered a metaphorical helping hand to the boy already, and so it had not been ignored this time. If he accepted, he would come; if he declined, he would not. The matter was just that simple, and it was not her quarrel to convince him if he decided to refuse her offer. Besides, my loft will be lost to me if he deigns to follow.

Oh, well. She could always read in her bed, even if the lighting was not angled particularly correctly... or she could kick him out if need be. Hopefully, she would not need to do that, but if the situation, a very rare situation indeed, called for it, that was an option she would keep in mind. As of now, she wanted to read to her heart's content in her hammock-bed, whatever it might be called. The girl seated herself on the edge of the suspended nest of fabric, swinging her legs over the side to curl over the side so that her elbows could be easily propped up on the border-- and soon they were so placed in that manner.

She watched now, in silent curiosity, to see if the boy would approach or ignore. If he ignored for more than the time it took for her to become bored, which was quite the short time, Cel would take his answer as a no and utilize the reading loft herself. If the contrary occurred, she would be friendly, friendly enough to seem not so irritating. She told herself this sternly; still, she only watched, her face displaying nothing but a blank wall of curiosity that was not so much false as hyperbole.

Elora winced as she listened to the Professor scolding the two who hadn't paid attention. She couldn't help but feel bad for them because now they had missed their chance to create a space for themselves.

She wondered where they would sleep.

But the Professor's praise brought a small smile to her face. She wasn't accustomed to such compliments, and though it was a small one, still made her the slightest bit more confident.

Elora stood awkwardly for a second after the Professor's exit. She decided upon taking out her copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so she could perhaps learn a bit more about the Lethifold, and maybe what the Professor meant by 'We are the Lethifolds.'

Elora then retreated to her bed and sat in the middle in a lotus sitting position. To her, however, that was her natural seated position and the most comfortable for her.

According to this book, the only way to repel a Lethifold is with the Patronus charm, it suffocated its victims, and it resembled a cloak. Huh.

Elora's mind immediately went to the Dementor as she read that description. A cloak like look, and repelled by a Patronus? Although there were only two similarities, it was a bit strange. She made a mental note to look into it.

As she read, she heard other students making small talk. Perhaps she should as well...?

Just as Elora glanced up, a girl approached her. Rosie, was her name? "Um.. Is it okay if I can.. Share?" Rosie asked her. "I know it's kind of my fault that I don't have a bed but I have to make do... It's okay if you don't want to! I just kinda need to sleep somewhere with... Someone, I guess, until I can find something to make it comfortable enough to sleep on the floor." Rosie sighed. "I'm sorry."

Elora was surprised for a second. Although she wasn't especially keen on sharing her space with someone else, Rosie seemed nice enough. Besides, she couldn't just say no, could she?

So Elora smiled and nodded. "Of course! T-there's plenty of room," she said, stuttering a bit. "I can help you with making your own space. After all, the Professor only said that you couldn't conjure your own space, he didn't say anything about making it with things already existing. " Elora grinned and gestured to her space. "Make yourself comfortable. And if you'd like, I can attempt to add a small other bed rather than share mind if that's more comfortable."

Rosie almost sighed out of relief when Elora accepted her request. Everyone else had either stayed silent, or went to the other boy who got scolded at, which honestly, made Rosie a little jealous. Was she not cool enough to be approached multiple times? Of course she wouldn't have said that out loud, that would be rude. Elora did seem a little hesitant at first, and Rosie couldn't blame her. Who wouldn't feel kinda upset about having to share their space? Maybe just Rosie, she was a bit possessive over her own stuff. However she wasn't very selfish, Rosie loved sharing! Though right now, she didn't have anything to share.
Rosie grinned. Elora was right. Valtome never did say that, it was fair game. "Yeah! Maybe we can make like... a fort. With blankets." She awkwardly gestured with her hands. "Whatever you wanna do, I'll help. I'm the one coming to you anyway." She smiled. "It means a lot that you're helping me... Elora, right?" She asked, going over to the bed to wait and see what Elora's plans were for making space for Rosie. "My name's Rosie, it's great to meet you." She smiled. Rosie made a mental note in the back of her mind to repay her.
