Feeling overwhelmed
I bursted into the room, thinking it was a normal bathroom, but the deserted feeling of it made me realize it was the famous abandoned toilets. I had heard about it from older students, but I was slightly confused about where exactly it was. Well, I'm slightly confused about where anything is, Hogwarts has the craziest layouts.
The plan to enter the room to take a deep breath, but the overwhelming feeling took over me, and before I could stop them, tears started to roll down my cheeks, with no sign of stopping. Sniffling and wiping my tears, I looked in the somewhat dirty mirrors, to see my bloodshot eyes and red nose. Realizing I didn't check if the room was empty, my reflection's face turned cherry red. I quickly checked the stalls, and relief flushed over me to see they were all empty.
The day had started out okay, but the homesickness and loneliness were starting to get to me. "You're fine." I told my reflection. My reflection only stared back. How rude, I thought. Chuckling at the silly thought, I rubbed the last of the tears out of my eyes, and started towards the door, when I realized I didn't check the last stall for people. And then, the door of the last stall opened.

Feeling overwhelmed
Overwhelmed by the crowded hallways and interesting but strange lessons of today, Lucy had finally found a place for herself to calm down - an empty toilet stall in a bathroom that seemed to have been out of use for many years already. This had seemed like a perfect place to calm down her mind, to go over her endless Potion notes, which were interesting, but how was she ever going to make sense of all of these potions? Not to even mention all of the new spells she would be learning in Charms class, and in Transfiguration.
She had no idea of how long she had been pondering over her notes and had been daydreaming, when the door slammed open. Lucy sat up and listened. Who was there? Were they coming in, or were they just lost? She had once found this room when she was lost as well - it was to be expected to get lost at least five times if you were a first year.
For a moment, all seemed quiet, until a careful sniffling started, and eventually breaking down into a desperate sob. Lucy held her breath. Was she supposed to come out her stall now? She didn't want to scare whoever had come in. Yet at the same time, she remembered feeling this lost when she just got to Hogwarts, and having hoped that someone just would've comforted her and would've told her that everything would eventually be okay. She had known the homesickness and overwhelming chaos in her own heart and would never want anyone to be lonely.
After some time, the sobbing died down to a soft sniffling again, and a voice echoed through the empty room. "You're fine." After a second of silence, a chuckle followed. Lucy's heart was racing. She really didn't want to scare this girl who had just poured out her heart to her reflection in the mirror, but she wanted to say something, anything, to comfort her, to let her know that it really was going to be okay. Even when Lucy didn't feel it for herself, she had to tell this stranger. She took a deep breath and opened her stall door.
"You're right, you know", she finally said after taking a good look at the girl that was standing there. The first thing Lucy noticed were the girl's bright green eyes, just like Lucy's own. Then, there was the bright red colour in the girl's robe. A Gryffindor. Clearly, this girl was underestimating her own courage. But Lucy knew that she couldn't just convince her of that, she had to see that for herself. But she couldn't let her go just like that. She had to know that she wasn't alone.
"You're right", Lucy repeated. "You're fine. Or at least, I'm sure you're going to be." Lucy sighed, and smiled at the girl with her bloodshot eyes and wet eyelashes. "I mean, I know how you feel. It's overwhelming. You don't have to do it on your own though." She reached out her hand. "My name is Lucy. Who are you?"

Feeling overwhelmed
The girl's comforting words made me smile, before I realized she had probably heard me cry. She must think I'm such a wimp, I thought. Before replying to the girl, who I now knew as Lucy, I inspected her. With dark skin, and blonde, no almost white hair, she was pretty. Her green eyes, seemed to be filled with concern and compassion. Her dark blue robes made it clear she was a Ravenclaw. "I- thank you. I'm sorry you had to hear me cry," I said, and forced out a chuckle. "Not the best first impression, I think."
Fidgeting with my bag, I wasn't sure what to do. "I'm Lexie. Wait- what are you doing here?" I asked, and noticed she was holding a potions textbook. Was she studying in the abandoned toilets? Of course, I knew about the stereotype of Ravenclaws being bookish and smart, but this was a bit far. Then again, who was I to judge her? I was bawling my eyes out like a baby, and she had comforted me. A bit of dust came down from the ceiling, and I broke out in coughs, and waved my hand around to try clear out the air. Since I was crying before, I hadn't really looked around the room. It had cobwebs in the corners of the walls, and foggy mirrors. My mind went to my father, a clean freak, who would hate this. A wave of sadness hit me, but I couldn't afford to think about that now, in front of this nice girl. "Do you come here a lot? I've actually never been here."

Feeling overwhelmed
As Lucy finished speaking, she noticed the forced chuckle from the girl in front of her. "Not a very good impression, I think", the girl said. There, you see? She had embarrassed the poor girl, instead of giving her some good support. What could she do now? She never meant for the girl to be ashamed of herself.
Lucy just opened her mouth to apologize, when the girl introduced herself as Lexie. "Wait, what are you doing here?" Lexie asked. Lucy stared down at the books in her hands and blushed. Did Lexie think she was weird now, like Lucy had always thought her cousin was weird for being in Ravenclaw? Or did it look suspicious, as if she was brewing dark secrets in a hidden bathroom, getting prepared for mischief?
The ceiling above her trembled slightly and interrupted her train of thought. A puff of dust fell down and Lexie coughed. Lucy chuckled. Although she had never figured out exactly what caused it, she had gotten used to the clouds of dust right now. Even the cobwebs and spiders had become quite familiar and maybe even silent friends -as long as they stayed up there on the ceiling.
"Do you come here a lot?" Lexie interrupted the silence. "I've actually never been here."
Lucy blushed - again. Again she was confronted with her Ravenclaw-like behaviour, and she didn't like it. She shrugged. "I come here sometimes to get away from all the people. It's nice, except that it's a bit dark." After looking around one more time, she looked at Lexie and thought deep. She'd had so many ideas for this abandoned place, so many things would be possible here. But finding a new friend never seemed to be a possibility. Hoping that she wouldn't embarrass Lexie again with her curiosity, Lucy eventually couldn't stop herself from asking: "So, what happened? Why are you here? Why were you..." Lucy stopped herself and took a deep breath. She didn't want to upset this nice Gryffindor girl and ruin what could be the first friendship she had in this school. "Why were you crying?"

Feeling overwhelmed
The girl blushing made me feel better, since then I wasn't the only embarrassed one. I didn't think there was anything wrong with reading, even if I didn't enjoy it much myself. Reading in an abandoned toilet was a bit much, but I've always liked people with spirit.
I shouldn't have been surprised at the awkward crying question, but I suppose I was hoping she would just ignore the elephant in the room. "Oh, I..." What was I supposed to say? Letting out a small sigh, I reminded myself honestly is the best policy. "Just an overwhelming day, that's all. I don't cry much, but when I do the flood gates really open, you know?" I replied.
I imagined the girl knew all about overwhelming days, as being a Ravenclaw must be tough. The pressure of being 'smart' and studious would've drove me insane. "And the home sickness doesn't help." I carefully watched the girl's expression to gauge what she thought, which somehow reminded me to ask for her name. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name?"
I used my hands to hop up and sat on the platform where the sinks were. Running my hands through my hair since I had a feeling it was unkempt, I waited eagerly for her response.

Feeling overwhelmed
Lucy listened intently as Lexie shared how overwhelmed she was. Lucy didn't really understand either why she felt like she had to ask her. She had been here so many times, sometimes crying as well, and she knew what it was like to be overwhelmed in the busyness of the school, and by the pressure of having to make new friends and learning new skills. Lucy could only imagine what it would be like to be a Gryffindor, and to have people expect of you that you were always brave, always doing risky things. Perhaps, Lucy now realised, she had asked Lexie that question to show her that she was safe, that Lexie was braver than she realised, and that it was okay to just be herself?
"I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name?" Lexie asked, and jumped agilely on the platform of the sinks and ran her hands through her hair. Lucy chuckled. "I guess I didn't throw it yet. Sorry. I'm Lucy, Lucy Prince."
As she just finished speaking, another cloud of dust fell from the ceiling. This time, it even caught Lucy off guard. She coughed and looked up to the ceiling. "This has been going on for a while now", Lucy said apologetically. "You don't happen to know what they're doing up there, do you?"

Feeling overwhelmed
The girl's green eyes felt like they were piercing into my skull as she listened to me speak. I mean, not really, but that was how intently she was listening. It was nice, as I sometimes get ignored when I speak which wouldn't be a problem if she would want to be friends with me. She introduced herself as Lucy Prince and her last name felt very fit for someone who looked so regal. Maybe it was her white hair, or something else, but she seemed fit for ruling a kingdom.
Lucy let out a little chuckle when I jumped onto the platform, which made me very happy. I really needed to break the ice before things got awkward. It was a wonder things weren't already awkward with me crying. A cloud of dust interrupted my thoughts, and Lucy asked me if I knew anything about it. "No idea. I've never seen anybody building anything around here." I realized there wouldn't be dust even if they were, since they had magic, but I hoped Lucy wouldn't say anything. "Wanna get out of here before my lungs get filled with dust?" I asked, hoping she would say yes.
We were on the second floor, and I knew the study room was on this floor. I didn't feel like studying whatsoever, but they have comfy chairs. But people often find it rude when other people talk there, since they're studying. I figured if we did end up leaving, we would just wander the corridors till we eventually found something.
