Picnic Date Disaster
Date: Sometime September??
The way in which Alec asked her out had been on par for him, on brand with his odd, yet sweet gestures. It was hard to remember when exactly he'd begun to go over the idea of asking her out, all at once the thought had appeared and became an ever-consuming thought until now, to the moment he planned to ask her out. On this day the two had been staying and talking for quite a while, a long drawn-out conversation, talking about nothing in particular, it was organic and more lighthearted and playful than their former discussions had even been. He was making a joke about the flowers he'd given her the first time he'd met. Chuckling he looked back upon the fond part of the memory.
There was something always at the back of his mind, even as he joked and laughed without a second thought, though again his mind would wander to the thought in the back of his mind, away from the conversation at hand, his eyes towards the messenger's bag he'd brought with him. Now was a perfect time. Alec took a deep breath before reaching into the bag grabbing a white rose from it and a note. It was a childish gesture, wasn't it? To ask her out on a date by the lake with a note. The one that has the boxes to check yes or check no. Childish or not, he gave her the items, sliding them under the stall door, and in the end he received a note ticked 'yes'
----
The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, the bees were buzzing, and Alec was by the lake, setting up for a picnic date and anxiously awaiting the arrival of her, the girl in the abandoned toilets, the one always hiding behind a stall door as they talked. A person he'd had some of the most intimate conversations throughout his entire lifetime with, and he was only now going to be able to get to meet her, see who she is. What was the difference going to be between the vulnerable girl behind the door of a bathroom stall and the one now? What if she was someone he knew? It couldn't be but- Everything was always a possibility! Not only that but they'd never met! What if she saw him and didn't like him?
Was Alec even attractive? He'd never stopped to consider it before, now he had to. What if he was the most hideous looking on this planet and had simply never known? Had nobody bothered to go out of their way to tell him? These were just a few of the several anxious thoughts of the Gryffindor's various inner workings the second he had worked up the courage and asked her out, and she had agreed. There had been several more anxious notions in the coming days and hours that he would have to dismiss.
It had happened fairly fast, if he was being honest, he wasn't quite sure how. They had talked once, then two times, and three times, and suddenly there had become too many to count. It was like there was a weight lifted off of you, making it feel lighter and easier to talk about anything and everything when the person watching you doesn't see you when they can't know who you are. It helped that for one, she was generally easy to talk to, conversations like the ones he had with her where he spoke and didn't have to think about what he said for whatever reason were few and far between.
He felt like a nervous wreck when he was around her, but it was in a good way, the type that made you feel like you were far off in the clouds, and as if it were a form of escapism he forgot about the world, and it felt like in those moments the only people that existed were him and her, and... he didn't mind it. Continued conversations of morality, jokes to lift of the spirits of the grieving girl, the littlest things could have been turned into a long drawn-out conversation between the two of them.
Often it wasn't because they had more to say, only that they, or at least, he, wanted to keep the conversation going. She would hear of his parents, their divorce, the complaints he had he thought no one would ever hear. She knew more than some of his closest friends, and it was almost a frightening feeling, to think a stranger knew these things. She wasn't a stranger, not really anyway.
The Gryffindor had found a quiet spot, off to the side and away from everything else. He figured there was less pressure for anything with fewer people around, they had started out talking through a bathroom stall door, it was only fair he eased into the transition. It was a beautiful spot by the lake and as he waited he would set out a picnic blanket before setting his picnic basket on top of it... Cheesy right? Whatever he could pretend he was in some rom com on a picnic date. He'd taken a seat on the blanket and would find himself working on a sketch of the lake to distract himself as he waited.

Picnic Date Disaster
She knows the day of her secret meeting with this mysterious stranger is coming to a close when he slid a white rose from under the toilet door with a small piece of paper attached to it. She glimpsed at the hand that gave her the rose. She didn't know whether to be disappointed or.. excited. It's just that.. this small tradition- that has been going on for weeks, has been the only highlight of her day. She knows how gross that sound. The fact that going to an abandoned toilet is the only thing that has been keeping her sane for the pasts few weeks. But now- this tradition, and the mystery, are going to end. Of course, she has been waiting for this day, finally seeing the stranger's face for the first time ever. She has been waiting for it, even dreaming about it. They have chatted, bonded, and even share their deepest stories some that even Pea has not told anyone else. And somehow- she trusted him. Trust? How absurd is that? And he even manages to do the impossible, he manages to have her open up.
Miraculous isn't it? The way that he makes everything so easy for her and the way he could be vulnerable in front of her too.
But what if.. what if everything changes after that? What if when they do see each other- he turns out to not be as good as he is behind the door- or worse... what if he's ugly?
Negative thoughts ran through her mind like it usually been for weeks. But- she realizes that she can't stay behind this toilet door forever. She looks at the small note again, the one he gave her under the toilet door along with the white rose. She is charmed at how silly the written note is. Weeks ago before this whole thing happened, she would probably rip out this note and rejected him on the spot. But can't believe that now, she is actually flattered by this childish way of asking her out. How time has changed her. Pea scratched a tick with her wand in the yes box on the small parchment that he gave her. And pass the note back to him.

And before she knows it, it is the day she is meeting him for the first time.
Pea is wearing a silky white dress that flows in the wind, and glimmers in the sun. As usual, looks absolutely breathtaking. Well, how could she not? she is ready to dress to impress today, meeting someone that she actually- actually... admired. Suddenly her chest felt like it sunk unto her stomach. What was that? nerve? no, she has felt nervous before, -not often, but she surely knows that this isn't nervousness that she is feeling. She steps into the grass near the lake looking for a boy she is supposed to meet. Her white hair which is slightly curled blew in the wind with every step that she took. After walking for a while, she notices a boy sitting in a blanket near the lake from afar. It was a picnic date. How lame- she thought while smiling at the sight. Pea didn't move from her spot for several minutes. Just the thought to have finally met him now- who is just several meters away from her- scares her. Panic suddenly drives her mind. She never feel this way before- she was never someone who loses her cool in front of a boy. But this boy- he is different. Pea still stands on her spot, unmoving. Not sure if she should just run, or stay.
It was until he turns her head, and looks at her. Pea is still frozen but she swears her body feels like it was burning. She was standing there still, her hair swaying with the wind, too flabbergasted at the boy looking at her.
