Shivers
The edge of the lake was cool. Taisia was doing a bit of homework by the lake. She was about to leave, and had packed up. She rose and reached down to grab her papers, back facing the lake. She took another step and her foot rolled over a stone. The girl toppled back and fell into the chilly waters. Taisia managed to grab onto the edge but slipped again. Finally, she managed to pull herself up and onto the hill, chest heaving. A few moments later she passed out.
Taisia blinked a few times and sat up in the bed. The bed felt more comfortable than her normal dorm one, yet it wasn't her home one either. She was shivering a bit and could feel a dull ache at her knee. Someone brought her a cup of hot chocolate to warm her up. She drank it greedily, and ignored the burn as it slithered down her throat. Then she had to figure out where she was.
It seemed she was in a giant hall, and beds lined each side. Each bed had six chairs around it, and a curtain. Looking around, Taisia could see a few closed curtains, and hear a low murmuring of voices behind them. Other than the voices, the hallway was quiet. No other clues as to her location except the silence. The sun streamed in and Taisia turned her head upwards to see the high ceilings met with diamond shaped windows. There weren't many people in sight, just a few older looking students and occasionally a man who looked a bit like a professor walked past. Then it struck her. She was in the Hospital Wing. It was unusual for her to be so slow with something like that but she had nearly frozen to death. Finally someone came to her. They bustled around and cast a spell, and then tapped her knee. Immediately the pain left. She sighed in relief. The person looking after her helped her out of bed and supported her whilst she limped around. Gradually, she was less and less afraid to put more and more pressure on her leg. Soon, she was walking around by herself. That was more like it. Her carer motioned that she could leave, and, gladly doing so, she walked (normally) out of the Hospital Wing. She would be avoiding the lake for a while.
