Spare quill?
Frazzled was an understatement. It was Klaus’ first week at Hogwarts, and he already felt behind. He had a hard time falling asleep, the sound of splashes from the lake against the window kept him awake. To make matters worse, he found himself getting lost in the corridors multiple times, and to his demise, the stairs moved, often leading him an entirely different direction than he intended. It was frustrating. So, it was no surprise that it took him half-an-hour to find the library. Once he entered, he made a small sound of victory — ”Yes!” — which was met with shushes from the company inside. Oh, right. It was a library, after all. Klaus crept into the library, desperate not to make any noise. He looked around. The smell of books overwhelmed his nose, and the room was tall. He felt his hair tickle the back of his neck as he angled his head upwards, taking in the full scale of the library. There were aisles and aisles and stacks and stacks of books, which put his family—well, his father’s— library at home to shame. As he walked through the room, he traced the spines of the books he walked past, his eyes gazing over books with titles like An Account of the Tri-Wizard Tournaments of 1439, Dwarves: A Brief History from 36 B.C.E. to Now, and Keeping Your Broom Clean: The Best Methods for Broomkeeping.
The tawny-haired Slytherin found a table that was empty and placed his satchel atop of it and gingerly pulled out some of his textbooks. Despite it being the first week, a due date was fast approaching, and he reckoned he better get started sooner rather than later. Klaus took out all of the supplies he needed, but, to his dismay, he was missing a quill. Seriously! The thing he needed the most! He unrolled his parchment and searched in his bag to no avail. He looked around the room until he spotted another student, one that didn’t seem too engrossed in their work.
“Excuse me,” whispered Klaus, leaning forward in a bid to get the other’s attention. “Do you have a spare quill?”

Spare quill?
Kingsley was looking for a place to do her homework that was relatively quiet. Don't get her wrong, she absolutely loved her dormmates but they also weren't the most quiet bunch and she knew if she didn't go somewhere else then she'd end up talking all night and never get any homework done. The young Hufflepuff had managed to rush through her transfiguration homework when she had woken up this morning and was certain she was going to get a 'T' on it. So, she did what she thought was best and had tried to make her way to the library. She had stopped several times to ask the older students if she were going in the correct direction before continuing on. As she walked in, her green eyes widened as she took in the vast amount of books. Inhaling the smell of the, what she assumed, ancient books a small smile graced her face.
Kingsley found a table and sat down, the smile still on her face. As she moved her light brown hair behind her ear, she reached into the bag beside her feet and pulled out her supplies for her Astronomy homework. She realized as she looked over the Astronomy homework that she was rather illiterate in the subject. Moving a hand to her chin, she leaned her head on it, trying as hard as she could to focus on the notes she had wrote. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly before she heard a voice.
"Hello," Kingsley had whispered back, her knowledge of the muggle libraries back home teaching her that she had to be extra quiet. "I think so. Do you need a specific one?" As she uttered the question, she was bending towards her bag, opening it and digging around to look for one.

Spare quill?
Relief swept over Klaus like ocean water. He was grateful, immediately giving the Hufflepuff girl a big smile and whispering, “Any that you aren’t using, I really appreciate it.”
Klaus must have whispered a little too loud. He was met with a glare from across the room, and he bowed his head sheepishly. To keep himself from making any more noise, he decided to switch seats. He moved his things to her table as quietly as possible. He hadn’t unpacked much, anyway. Klaus’ satchel was a deep brown and his name was embroidered with black thread, Klaus Fernsby. His mother had done it before he left for school, citing the fact he’d probably leave it somewhere. Which, frustrating as it was, it was true. He was very forgetful. He even forgot his Remembrall at home! His mother had sent it back to him via the family owl. The lad was always caught in a daydream at the worst time. He set his satchel down on the empty chair next to him, pulling his parchment out and reaching his hand out for the quill.
“You saved my life,” Klaus whispered, barely above a mouthing. “I keep getting lost in the hallways; there was no way I’d make it to my dorm and back! My name is Klaus, what’s yours?” The way he pronounced his name made it rhyme with mouse and house.
