Kay made her way into the ballroom, wearing a beautiful orange dress. Kay and her mother had sent letters for weeks choosing the perfect dress. She stood near the corner of the room, waiting for Gwen to meet her there. They had agreed to go to the ball together when they had met in History of Magic. Kay was honestly confused about how the whole thing happened. It all happened really quickly and suddenly she had someone to go with.

Everyone's outfits made them look straight out of a fairy tale, and Kay blended in quite well. Her dress wasn't based on any specific fairy tale, but it was very Halloween-themed. She sipped on some pumpkin juice as she waited, her mind wandering. She was completely spaced out, probably thinking about what she would be like in a fairy tale.

The music in the background was very Halloweeny, and Kay loved it. Halloween had always been her favorite holiday ever since she was a young child. She had always loved fall in general. The smell of the air, the crunchy leaves on the ground, and the baking that her father had always done made it the best time of the year.
