The game was going well, until this point. Alec just… did he just dare Marius to hang off of a window ledge? baileys mind screamed.
“Marius…” Bailey started. “Don't do it, Marius!” she continued, saying “Never mind the dare, it's just a game. It isn't fair to perform such a dangerous dare."
Shooting a look at Alec, she made a mental note to send him a VERY angry letter to him later telling him exactly WHY that was a dumb idea and dangerous dare. Especially because ..
Right on cue Marius replayed, saying he had to “protect his honor” and that he’d either “succeed or die”.
Sighing baileys was about to yell that he had completed the dare when he fell. Marius fell swiftly to the ground, and before he hit the ground bailey was off running towards him.
“ALEC WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!! YOU KNEW HE WOULD ACCEPT AND LIKELY GET HURT!!!” Bailey yelled furious at Alec over her shoulder. She didn’t care who heard, she was just worried about a friend.
Coming to Marius she asked worriedly “Are you ok? What hurts? Surely you’re fine…”
Even as she said this, Bailey saw the swelling already happening in his ankle, and groaned.
“Stay still… you’ll be fine.” Bailey tried to keep Marius from realizing how bad he was hurt. She yelled over she shoulder again at Alec, saying
“ALEC! Get over here now! OR GO GET the nurse - one of the two. WHICHEVER YOU PICK YOU BETTER DO QUICKLY!!!”
sorry this took so long

The circle had grown quiet the minute Alec spoke out his dare, nervous looks from some, silent smirking jeers from others eyes daring Marius to go on, there was of course the few who weren't even paying attention to the situation though no matter should be paid to them, were they even playing the game at that point? Alec let a sly smirk slowly settle on his face, knowing there was no way in the world Marius would do it and accept the dare, Sherlock was a smart kid, there was no way he'd play it that dumb to save his pride. Bailey warned telling Marius not to do it, Alec rolled his eyes in turn, as if Marius would have needed the words spelled out for him, this was going to be an open and shut case, Alec was sure of it.

Until Marius spoke up saying he had to do it, and for a moment Alec began to look alarmed. He wouldn't though right? Some sick joke Sherlock wanted to play to get back at him for making the dare in the first place. Alec wasn't going to let Marius make a fool out of him that easily. Marius continued on his ramble which Alec brushed off as all part of the show.

Alec watched as Marius made his way running off, to go in and to a window ledge, still not believing he was actually going to do it as Marius got onto the ledge, Alec's eyes dared him to do it, he watched, knowing he wouldn't. Then something unexpected happened, Marius was actually going on to do it, to complete Alec's dare and as he moved to get himself to hang onto the ledge, Alec was right there. He felt his heart beating out of his chest, anxiety rising and Marius hung from the ledge, he wasn't actually supposed to do it! Alec stood where he was to hopefully catch Marius if anything went wrong however it seemed that Alec was bad at assessing where a person was exactly going to fall. Marius did fall, Alec did not catch him, Marius had managed to land, taking care of his weight where miraculously, the only thing he had messed up seemed to be his ankle, Alec grimacing at the way it twisted as he landed, ankles weren't supposed to twist like that.

Alec was already knelt down at Marius's side by the time Bailey had run over, he said no words to Marius eyes mostly assessing for any other injuries. The Gryffindor scowled as Bailey looked away to shout, having half the mind to yell at her to look the other way, of course, he didn't. She scarcely noticed his presence talking to Marius, Alec rolled his eyes. As she went on to shout again Alec's face scrunched and he covered his ears. Too loud. “Can you please stop shouting?” He asked, this time turning his head to face and look at hers. “He's fine, your overreacting, it's not like he has a serious head injury or he's bleeding out or anything,” Alec muttered sour-faced. Even Alec had a messed up ankle from time to time, it happened, it was apart of the list of usual childhood injuries. It wasn't even a broken bone!

Now to ask the actually important questions, “Marius,” one of the few times Alec had ever directly addressed the boy by name, Alec's voice was surprisingly soft and empathetic hinting at concern, unexpected from the person who had issued out this dare in the first place, “how bad does your ankle hurt?” Alec asked, his eyes flickered back over to Marius ankle once again assessing it, Alec lips pursed, waiting a few seconds before he spoke, “do you think you'd be able to put weight on it?” He would take another moment to wait and then comment on the situation, Alec needed a minute to comprehend everything he was still having trouble with the fact Marius actually accepted and did. “Why would you- You're crazy mate,” Alec whispered, no hint of an apology, there would be one later, he didn't feel like doing his apologizing with a spectator around.

Marius was all limp and pale, but alive. Dizzily, he could hear Bailey's voice shouting, but in his ears and in his brain, everything sounded gibberish. All he knew was that she was loud, and it disturbed him; she may panic and mean well, but all the shouting were making him feel worse instead.

Finally, he managed to catch the Ravenclaw softly asking him, voice full of worry, if he was all right. The Chinese-English boy groaned, opened his brown eyes, and croaked out, "I'm fine. I'm fine, Bailey - but - ooohhh, my ankle!"

At this point, even Alec looked sincerely concerned. The Gryffindor enquired how bad his ankle was, and Marius would very much like to reply honestly, but the Hufflepuff was at loss of words. "It hurts so bad," he hissed, because he was not sure if there was a better way to admit how he felt. "I don't think I can stand, Alec, let alone walk. Could you please get the nurse, or a professor, or other adult to take me to the Hospital Wing? Please."

He lost concentration again, attention almost exclusively spent on the pain on his ankle, but he could hear (or thought he heard) the third year chided him for taking the dare seriously. Marius could not answer, but even if he could, he did not know whether to agree with this comment or to deny it; one thing he was sure though, Alec had no intention to mock him this time. That teenager was seriously concerned.

@Alec Mason was somehow already at @Marius Brown’s side by the time she got there- she hadn’t seen him get up. Her eyes had been fixed on Marius and his them impending doom.
Alec scowled at her, probably for her yelling thinking he was behind her.
As she yelled again, still thinking he was behind her, his face scrunched and he covered his ears. He asked, well more like told her to be quite.
Her head snapped up, and shock was written across her face.
how had he gotten there so fast?
Her frown deepened when he told her that she was overreacting. She signed and contained herself. “Maybe you’re the one who’s under reacting. I happen to have basic paramedic training, and have watched my father- never mind that’s off topic and a story for another day
Alec asked Marius if he thought he could put weight on his leg. Baileys stopped herself from snapping at Alec, and from saying that of course Marius should not under any circumstances put weight on that leg till the nurse or a staff member could have a look at it.
When Marius had opened his eyes, he had croaked that he was ok, but his ankle hurt.
Marius said what Bailey had refrained from waiting. Bailey then said, with what she hoped was a comforting smile, “Would you prefer if I went to get a staff member or the nurse and Alec stayed with you, or if he went for the nurse or staff member and I stay with you? And can I get you anything? Do you think you can move to a siting position?”

Alec would silently roll his eyes as Marius went on to insist he was fine, then go on the complain of his ankle. Way to tough it out Sherlock. Admittedly, Bailey was not the only worried one, Marius wasn't going to die but he was injured. Marius said his ankle hurt pretty bad and Alec grimaced, he said he didn't think he would be able to stand let alone walk and Alec nodded. Marius asked to be brought to the hospital wing. As the other spoke, Alec spent several seconds looking over his ankle, when Marius was done speaking and Alec was still looking, Bailey was talking. She said he was under-reacting, she talked about having basic paramedic training and Alec let out a breath. “You have muggle paramedic training. Have even some kind of basic healing spell under your sleeve and I'll listen to you.” Alec huffed out. Magic healing was particularly more advanced then what muggles were capable of. Muggles spent months to heal things. Wizards only had to spend minutes.

Bailey offered to grab a staff member. Alec shook his head. Marius's ankle was the only problem here, professors had more vital things to worry about and it wasn't because he was in pain. Alec knew what he was doing. “Can I cast a spell on you Marius?” Alec asked, glancing from Bailey back to Marius's ankle.

If Alec received permission he would not and do the wand movement, speaking the spell's incantation, “ferula.” The bandaging charm. If Marius accepted he would find the spell in effect wrap bandages around his ankle to temporarily splint the injury. The bandages would also ease the pain. “How is it now?” Alec would asked, “are you able to stand up? I can help you walk to the hospital wing.”

If Marius did not accept Alec's help then Alec would finally be insistent that yes, Bailey should get a member of staff for help since Marius would not accept his.

To be honest, Marius was tempted to snort and loudly blow some air out of his mouth. Seriously, these two were arguing in front of an injured person? He had had enough problem (and pain) that had given him a headache without the bonus voices of argument from Alec and Bailey, thank you very much.

It was still very lucky of him to have the two finally stopped without him having to send them a request. Bailey immediately did a follow up on his plead to get the school nurse, asking whether he preferred her or Alec to call the staff. Alec, on the other hand, asked for the first year's permission to cast something on him. However, the Gryffindor did not even mention what kind of spell he would perform, and normally Marius would be suspicious and ask the elder student, "What spell?" Observing Alec's tone and body language, though, he started to think that the boy was sincerely worried.

Without interrogating, the Hufflepuff agreed. It turned out that Alec would like to cast Ferula, and a bandage appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, wrapping Marius' hurt ankle. Bailey asked if he could sit, and Alec if he could walk to the Hospital Wing with help. The first year tried both and successfully sat, but when he attempted to stand, he saw stars. Marius hissed, and without even trying to stand erect (let alone walk), he sat back.

Alec rolled his eyes at Marius' insisting he was fine, and bailey had to agree with that- there was no way that Marius was 'fine'. Bailey resisted rolling her eyes back at him, but decided against it.
Bailey also tried to reign herself in - she knew she was overreacting, and could not stop.
Alec huffed at her, and she sat back.
Deciding not to fight, Bailey let Alec take care of Marius.
he SHOULD be the one to help Marius, as it's his fault that another student is injured Baily thought, instantly regretting her words.
what am i thinking - why am i overacting as much as i am? her thought's continued.
"How are you feeling, Marius?" Bailey thought, trying to calm herself and the boys.
Bailey then turned to Alec, trying to remedy her conversation with Alec. "Sorry Alec, i was just trying to help. I do have knowledge, and it does come in handy when magic isn't allowed or possible."
Bailey would then help Marius and Alec in any way she could, as her pulse settled. If Alec supported one side of Marius, Bailey would offer herself to support his other side. Bailey was doing her best to be helpful, but sometimes it was too much.

Marius was honestly annoyed. Seriously, what was wrong with these two? Nothing, and yet, at the very same time, everything. The second year did not like being worried about like this, did not like being the centre of attention when he was not at his prime condition. Sure he enjoyed some kind of attention now and then, which is very human of him, but only from his family and closest friends; if it came from others outside this aforementioned circle, he would only enjoy the attention if it focused on him and his strength (when he got good scores or was showing his talent in public speaking, for example).

But like this? When he was hurt and, in some ways, 'vulnerable'? No way José, thank you very much! Such attention would only damaged his pride and honour. (Come to think about it, refusing Alec's dare could not have done as much damage as being watched when he was in such pain like this; but unfortunately, the time had passed and it was too late to change his decision.)

"All right, all right, could anyone please give me a hand to go to the Hospital Wing?" he asked without answering Bailey's question. For sure he did not like saying it, but at least at the Hospital Wing he would be free from the prying eyes and pitiful glance of the other students who were currently around.
