The Duelling Cliché PV Finished

Pay attention to the duel? Of course she did. It had begun so exciting... but sadly ended in such a boring way when Eri gave up didn't even defend herself. Angela watched Mia as she picked up Eri and handed her on to some student. Was that really necessary? Shouldn't there be another person to help the people who get knocked out? Being cleaned up by your opponent seemed so embarrassing.

Well, that won't happen to her! She worked hard and she *will* succeed. This first duel must go excellent.

She vigorously walked up to the designated spot, hastily bowed, stood up straight and eyed up her opponent. It was some short, Irish-looking girl. Was she more experienced with duels? Was she as determined? We will see.

Angela had a plan already: she was going to use Incendio. Technically it was forbidden to cast on other students, but that rule didn't apply to the duel club. Incendio sounded like a great defense in case of getting actually attacked, so it's important to practice it on moving targets...

Stance: Defensive

Sophie blinked, dumbfounded. This must've been set up. It was a basic cliché! It was obvious of the rivalries from the two houses, and even more obvious that Sophie had an enemy from Slytherin. Well, perhaps not so obvious the second one, but, anyone who had been present would think it be the most obvious thing.

Sophie cheerfully hopped to her spot and bowed to the Slytherin across from her, as her opponent did the same. And though Sophie herself wasn't too prepared in dueling she had learned plenty of spells to keep her nice and healthy before she started worrying.

Sophie herself had only dueled once before, not that anyone was to know that. She had been successful in casting a spell only twice, and managing to knock out her opponent. The duel had gone unknown, and still, only to this day three people had known about the duel. Herself, a Slytherin named Zero Blue, and a Ravenclaw name Horace Vargas.

As she listened to the silence of the room, it seemed that everyone was very tense, or, tense in the way that people thought that the duel between the two would end up like the duel between Mia Alexander and a girl named Eri Windstone. 

Sophie, having only met Mia once, and never meeting the girl named Eri,  didn't really pay attention, but when one of the girls were knocked out, Sophie instantly became interested.

"You may begin!"

Hearing the cue to go, Sophie raised her chestnut wood wand and waved it in a little sassy way, calling the first spell that came to mind.

"Steleus!"

There was no hesitation in this duel. It was almost like a battle. On their cue, both of the girls launched into new stances and attempted to cast their spells. The Slytherin was resourceful, going on the defensive but casting a very offensive spell. The Gryffindor was brave, charged straight in with her choice of spell. The nature of the spell was not as aggressive as her lunge forward. It was interesting watching the two different people make their decisions in a brief moment. 

Serena watched as both of the spells were successful. Angela hit Sophie with a small jet of fire, lighting her sleeve instantly. Sophie quickly countered with a sneezing spell that caused Angela to burst into sneezes. Hopefully that would buy the Gryffindor a minute to quickly put out the flames before Angela could fire another spell. That was yet to be seen.

The Hufflepuff watched silently, her hand gripped tightly on her wand as she readied herself to intervene at any moment's notice. For some reason, she felt like she would need to. Neither of these girls were going to go down without a fight - and neither had the energy or strength left to take another hit like that.

Angela hit for 294 damage and is down to 106 HP. 
Sophie hit for 258 damage and is down to 142 HP.

Duel continues...

Damn... this... stupid... sneezing... hex!, thought Angela in between sneezes. She was almost sure she managed to hit Sophie. She waited out the sneezes attack, and when she was fairly certain the hex has ended, she quickly straightened up and pointed her wand at her opponent, who still stood there, with only a slightly burned sleeve.

She was now pretty angry. Nobody will hit her with such humiliating spell ever again. She forgot about Incendio and decided to cast an even worse and more sickening curse. See how you like it, Sophie!

Mucus ad Nauseam!, she cried out, trying to get the wand movement perfectly precise and hit Sophie straight in the stomach.

Moderator Post

Angela instantly bounced back and attacked Sophie. Apparently she could no longer continue, however. She got hit by another spell, doing a bit more damage and striking her with a cold.

Sighing, Serena shrugged as she watched the two sickly people. One was sneezing, the other had a full blown cold now. "Alright, let's end it here." She called out, ending the practice duel. "The winner of this duel is Angela Silverberry, congratulations" She replied nodding to the Slytherin.

"Rest up, take it easy and perhaps we can try this again another time." Serena concluded, encouraging them to tend to their wounds and take a break for now. With that, Serena watched them leave the room and turned to the next participants.

Duel Ends due to inactivity. Angela wins practice by default.
