Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Serena entered the room, moving towards the stage. She looked around and saw a group of students lined up by the stage. Lifting the parchment up towards her, she scanned the names off it. There were students that she did not recognise the name of. That did not matter, however. She was here to do a job, not to socialise, "Hello everyone. I'm Serena, one of the Hufflepuff Prefects and I'll be running your practice duel today. You should already know how to duel so I won't be teaching you, but rather overseeing it. When I call out your name, come to the stage and take your place opposite your opponent," She explained in a matter of fact tone that was unusual for her. Serena was usually seen smiling. This was definitely a far more serious side of the girl.
In truth, fighting was never something Serena enjoyed. In fact, if she had a choice then she would never let anyone fight. Unfortunately, with the recent events she had witnessed, she had learnt that it was essential to learn how to duel. She had seen too many people wound up injured after failing to perform a basic level spell. It was truly terrifying to know that her friends and housemates had been so close to death. Yes, students needed to learn basic duelling spells that would help them protect themselves in their time of need. Sadly, it was something they may rely on.
Glancing down at the paper, she picked the next two names that she saw on it, "Mia Alexander and Eri Windstone, please take your places," She said calmly as she pointed to either side of the stage to indicate where they should stand. She took a deep breathe and watched the two. She recognised Mia having met her briefly once before so she assumed the other girl was Eri, who she did not know.
After they took their positions and performed their bows to each other. Once they looked ready, she spoke up in a firm but calm voice, "Keep the battle clean, ladies. You may begin."

Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Eri didn't quite enjoy dueling. It was something necessary for ones survival. Hearing her name and that she was dueling Mia Alexander. She met her before.
Eri had mixed feelings about dueling. She didn't like to hurt people and being a first year she didn't know many dueling spells. The knockback jinx and rectumsempra. So Mia didn't need to worry.
Eri walked on stage taking her spot opposite of Mia. She bowed and pointed her wand at Mia. Eri didn't want to be the first to fire. But being first to fire was an advantage. And if you waited for the other to fire you could see what spells they use.
Eri studied Mia for a moment. Trying to figure out what spells she would use. Eri was tempted to go ahead and fire the knockback jinx. Or maybe the tripping jinx. All you did was flick your wand at the person's ankle, but she wasn't going to do that yet.
Eri pointed her wand at Mia "Flipendo" Eri shot the knock back jinx at Mia Alexander. It would hit her. Unless Mia had incredibly good dodging skills Eri was pretty sure that her spell would hit Mia with accuracy.
Stance: Aggresive
Spell: knockback jinx(flipendo)

Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Mia was not confident that she could beat Eri. She had met the girl before, and although quite short, she was a formidable enemy. Plus she probably was a better duelist, and knew more spells.
She moved first, taking advantage of Mia's naiveness. She had never dueled before, and hadn't mastered this art. Still. As soon as the girl got into an agressive stance and pointed her wand at Mia, Mia knew what she was casting.
The girl slightly bent sideways hoping to avoid the strong spell. Her stance was fairly defensive, as she knew that that was what was going to save her, not anything else. Using the agressive stance would be a big mistake.

Serena watched the two girls commence their battle. The Ravenclaw girl started the duel quickly by firing the first spell. She attempted to throw the knockback jinx at Mia but unfortunately, she had failed to cast it. Whilst she had pronounced it correctly, her wand movements were incorrect and the spell failed.
Mia retorted with her own spell. A fire spell that caused Serena to inhale sharply and watch intensely. It was the same fire spell that Serena had used in her own battle. She had even taken the same stance that Serena had taken - the aggressive one. Incendio was a spell that she knew was dangerous - ask any of the Hufflepuffs, they all knew. Serena watched carefully but relaxed the minute that she realised Mia had cast the spell incorrectly. She had failed to cast it by pronouncing it.
This battle was growing intense, with both girls trying their best. Unfortunately, they were both making small mistakes but that was why they were here. To learn how to duel properly. This practice would help them in the long run.

MIA missed ERI. ERI's health remains at 400 HP.
ERI failed to cast spell. MIA's health remains at 500 HP.
Moderator's additional tips & notes:
@ Eri - There was no stance when I started writing this post (just before you edited it). So I assumed a "neutral" stance. Please make sure you write your actions clearly at the bottom next time in advance to have the desired effect.
@ Mia - You've spelt "Incendio" incorrectly in the RPG part of the post. Not sure if this was intentional or not. Your roll missed anyway but if it had hit, I probably would not have counted it because you cast the spell incorrectly by pronouncing it wrong so it would have failed to cast. Please double check the spelling, if this was a typo. (If this was intentional then that's fine).

Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Mia dodged the spell gracefully. If this was like a video game, most of her health would be intanct. This was good.
Taking a deep breath, Mia turned red and stepped into an agressive stance as she recovered from the physical extersion. She was going to try again. This time with hopefully better results.
"Incendio!"
Her stance was one of aggression, and more so than the last one. She tried to be more accurate, leaning forward while she casted the powerful spell.
At the very least she was trying to get movement from Eri. Knock her down a bit.
Action: Aggressive Stance + Incendio

Eri suppressed a frown when she missed Mia. She wasn't happy that she missed her target Mia, but she was glad that it almost worked. It seemed like Mia tried to fire Incendio at her, but it hadn't worked. Eri studied Mia looking for an opertunity. Seeing No opportunity Eri got herself ready to dodge any spell.
Eri saw Mia try again and she leaped to the left ducking down to avoid the blast. If it hit her that was fine it wouldn't hurt that bad hopefully.
Eri didn't want to fire a spell that would hurt Mia, but they had to learn how to duel. Maybe Eri should cast a less harmful spell. Maybe the tickling charm. It wouldn't hurt hopefully. Eri's main goal was to win without great harm, well not even win just to improve.

Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Serena watched as the Slytherin jumped back into action. She nodded as the girl seemed to be taken the hit well. Mia was doing the right thing, correcting her pronunciation and firing the spell again. The Hufflepuff watched closely as she noticed her stance take a more aggressive position. She was determined to get a hit in, it seemed. Watching carefully, she clenched her fist slightly as she saw a fireball appear from the tip of Mia's wand. It went straight for Eri. Before the Ravenclaw had a chance to dodge it, it hit her.
She frowned a little, noticing that the girl had received a small burn on her hand and the tip of her sleeve caught on fire. That would sting for a while - and get worse if she did not put the small flame out. But Eri reacted quickly. Just before she got hit, she attempted to fire her own spell in return. A tickling charm that Serena had not seen in action before. She witnessed the Ravenclaw attempt to cast the spell but it failed. She seemed to get the wand movement wrong again. Serena sighed. It looked like the Ravenclaw was not quite as studious as the stereotype said she was. Mia had gained the upper hand in this duel it seemed. She was the first to successfully hit her target - and that too with a strong powerful blow. Serena watched closely, ready to jump in at a moment's notice. If Mia successfully hit Eri again, the Ravenclaw may not be able to take it. For now, both girls were still standing and able to cast their attacks.

MIA successfully hit ERI. ERI took 282 damage and is on fire.
ERI's health is down to 118 HP.
ERI failed to cast spell again. MIA's health remains at 500 HP.

Seeing that the girl was weak, Mia took no time in preparing to cast the charm again.
She didn’t really have any other choice, as she wasn’t sure if the levitating charm, wingardium leviosa, would work on a human. She was pretty sure that it wouldn’t.
Preparing herself, Mia got into an aggressive stance, ready to cast the spell. With a flick of her wand she cast it, and waited to see if it would hit her target.
“Incendio”
If not, the girl hasn’t got a hit in yet. Mia was still at full health, which was good. She could stand to miss. But she preferred not to.

Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
"STOP!" Serena screamed loudly as Mia launched into an aggressive attack. The incendio successfully hit Eri, causing her robe to catch on fire and instantly hurting her. There was no way that the Ravenclaw was strong enough to continue. Stopping the match was the best option. Eri did not launch any counterattacks, despite having ample time to do so. Perhaps she was a lot more exhausted than she looked. The Hufflepuff dashed forward, quickly pulling off her cloak and patting out the small flames that were on the now unconscious Ravenclaw. She checked Eri once she had managed to stop the flames. There was a very minor burn but it would fade away with a flick of the nurse's wand. Crouching over the girl, she examined her as best as she could.
"Eri Windstone ought by knockout, Mia Alexander wins," Serena announced to the room after she had checked that the Ravenclaw was okay. The girl would be waking up shortly. "Please accompany your opponent to the hospital wing," Serena said as she glanced over to Mia and nodded, "Congratulations." She continued with a nod, "You did well."
Mia did nothing wrong. Eri simply was not prepared for the attack nor did she try to stop it. The Slytherin won. The Ravenclaw would wake up in a few minutes. Mia Alexander vs. Eri Windstone
Mia smiled grimly at the knocked out girl and started to help her up, unfazed. She knew that people could be ruthless-that she could be ruthless. It came as no surprise to her. In fact, it was better that she knocked Eri out then some other, less forgiving person.
Picking her up, Mia smiled. She had won! It didn't matter that her opponent was-give or take-3 inches smaller than her-she had won! She had used everything that her professors had given her, and harnessed it to the best of her ability. She was using 'strategy'.
Flushing at the girls weight, Mia found another young first year to help her cart the girl downstairs. She couldn't do it alone. While not exactly weak, she had a tendency to give up when it wasn't nessecary to continue. Sure she was ambitious, but carrying the girl? That was almost pointless. It wasn't like this guy-whatever his name was-couldn't do it for her.
Plus. She would wake up a few minutes later, in bed, her burns tended to, and completely and utterly fine. Like not even one scratch on her. The nurse could work miracles, and it didn't matter if the boy carried her or Mia. The miracle would still be done.
