A Frightening Sight PV Daphne Sapphirus Finished

It was a chilly Sunday morning, Daphne being up early in an attempt to get some studying in. She believed studying and homework was quite important, and kept a tight schedule in order to still have time for clubs and free time. Fortunately, she wasn't uptight, and had no problem having some fun.. Of course, this was considering that she was invited to such, she wasn't very extroverted enough too make the first move when it came to making friends after all. While she made her way to the courtyard, she heard some shouting, her head naturally lifting up. Her blue eyes first laid upon the cat and she dropped her books, running over to the area. "Hey! Stop that!" Daphne exclaimed, immediately thinking that this girl wasn't the owner of the cat but someone wanting to bother it. After all, who in their right mind would throw a stick at a stuck cat?? She was a very kind person but when it came to animals, she completely changed. A pout formed on her face, obvious frustration written on. "Don't you know you're scaring it?? That is no way to treat an animal!" She rose her voice, but instantly regretted it after, her cheeks flushing. "..Sorry. D-Do you know how she got up there? Is she injured? Considering the weather, it'd be best to get her down as soon as possible. The tree branches may not be as strong in this season too..."

"It's really cold today, it's important that we get her down as soon as possible for her own safety." Daphne explained, speaking in a much calmer tone now. "I never had a cat myself but all animals love food. So it should convince her to come down." She reached in her pocket, getting out some berries and going over to the base of the tree. "I don't have fish but berries are safe for cats to eat so maybe she'd like these! I got these from the Great Hall!" Daphne reached up her hand as much as possible in order for Lavender to see the treats. She would've tried to stand on the pile of books but she didn't want to ruin or potentially break them. "Here kitty kitty!" Daphne said in a sweet voice. "What is her name? She's very pretty, I have a Hippogriff myself." She spoke to Sophie this time, and then remembered she didn't even introduce herself. Well, the both of them were probably too stressed out too talk. "Of course he's not here, he's with my father at home. And don't worry, she will come down somehow-safely of course!" If she wanted to be a magizoologist at all she better prove her animal skills!

"Lavender? That's a beautiful name, where did you get her from? I don't think my mother would let me have a pet at Hogwarts just yet, she wants me to focus on my studies." Daphne sighed. "She knows how I get about animals, I'd be obsessed and distracted for days. And I'm Daphne by the way, a first year! You're the...third or fourth Hufflepuff I met I believe!" She briefly glanced at Sophie, giving her a soft smile. When she saw that Lavender wasn't coming down, Daphne frowned, looking even more worried. She wasn't annoyed by the "meow", but rather just wondering what else she could do. "Well, I guess berries aren't enough. I wish I had some fish! You don't happen to carry around yarn do you?" Daphne backed away from the stump as she tried to think of what else to do. Running back to the Great hall would take too much time and there may not be food still left there anyway. "Or a laser pointer.." As the wind picked up in speed, Daphne turned to Sophie, speaking in an even more urgent tone. "Alright! I'm going to have to climb up there. Back at home, I went in the forest a lot and did it to watch the birds so if I get high enough to the branches I'll be able to do it!" Of course, she never climbed a tree of this height before.. For an animal in danger, she pushed her fears away. "You don't mind carrying me, do you? Or trying..? Unless you know a strong levitation spell this is the only way! I know I'm tall but I promise I'm not too heavy, I think."

"I'm not afraid! Plus, it's not like the nurse can't fix whatever if anything does happen. To me, I mean. Which it won't! It's not the Whomping Willow and the height isn't that high, if I fall I'd probably just get the wind knocked out of me." Daphne said while shrugging lightly. She was not very sure, but she didn't want to spend time talking too much when there was a cat to save at hand. "The only charms I know is the dancing feet spell and the mending one! I was going to get more homework done but I got uh-distracted." Not wanting to be rude, she didn't mention it was due to this situation. Daphne got out a ponytail holder from her pocket and put her hair up, preparing to climb. She noticed that Sophie looked unsure, and let out a soft sigh. "I promise I know what I'm doing! And if anyone comes, I'll take the blame. I've never gotten detention before..." Daphne took in a deep breath and lowered her gaze, "But for an animal, I will. Her wellbeing is more important than my good record. Plus if muggles can do it then why can't I?"

"Alright, I promise to be careful, especially if she falls asleep." Knowing Daphne she probably wouldn't even care if she was scratched, or wouldn't even realize it until the cat was down on the ground. Once she got the confirmation that no one was watching them, Daphne leaned forward, wrapping one hand around the trunk and placing her foot on a gnarl on the side of the tree. She began to lift herself up, wrapping both of her arms around the first branch. She had to use her upper body strength to swing her legs up, straddling the branch for a moment. "So far so good!" Daphne said before continuing, only using the branches that were large and sturdy. She made sure to tug each one, confirming that it wouldn't break once she was sat upon it. In a minute, Daphne had reached the fourth branch, there were only three more branches before she could reach Lavender. The next branch was a bit too high and she had to stand up straight, balancing herself and reaching up. "Almost got it...and..." Without even thinking about safety, Daphne jumped up, missing the first time and landing back on the branch. She briefly leaned back but managed to get her bearings, only for a loud creeeak sound to fill the air. Daphne didn't have time to wait, now jumping for the second time, successfully grabbing onto the branch above. She pulled both of her arms around it, the heavy branch below her breaking and falling to the ground with a loud thud. "Oof! A-Alright, just one more branch and I should be able to um..grab her from there!"
