It was a relief to hear that her new friend didn't seem to think that they'd land themselves in detention for catching a few frogs. It would be rather weird, when she thought about it. It's not like catching a frog was against any school rules. "Wait, what would we do with the frogs that would get us in trouble?" Her twelve year old brain couldn't comprehend such things, though she was sure that others in her year could be terrible. "Hopefully, no one things sticking one in a box and over-nighting it to Glasgow is mean to frogs or something." The frog would be in good hands once it arrived. Theo would probably treat the frog like royalty.

She laughed at the thought of the pair of them hopping around, trying to pretend to be frogs. "I think you've got the right idea," she responded, laughing. She spotted one not too far away, pointing it out to Felix. The other girl said she'd go right, so Rowan took the left, moving slowly so she wouldn't scare the thing that didn't seem to notice them yet. She took her time making her way over to the frog, hoping to avoid catching its attention until the last moment.

But patience and restraint had never been the Gryffindor's strong point, so with a glance at her new friend, she launched herself at the frog, hands outstretched. She managed to close her fingers around it, but the frog was slippery and slid right out of her grasp. "Get it!" she called to Felix, laughing, as she tried to roll after the thing. That didn't seem particularly effective though, unless her goal had been to get full of dirt.

Felix was calm and collected as she walked towards the frog. Seeing Rowan launch for it, Felix's eyes went wide before she began to laugh. There was no chance that they were going to catch it now. Felix ran after the frog for a while, but it jumped into the lake, swimming to a nearby area where Felix could not reach by foot. "Oh you, stupid thing." Felix huffed, rubbing her face a little as she wandered back over to Rowan, laughing at her state a little.

"You are quite filthy." Felix noted, a wide grin on her face as she held a hand out to help Rowan up. "I'm sorry I couldn't catch the frog. But I still have the one in my pocket if you want it." Felix added, wanting to make the situation a little lighter. While it was all fun and games, it was a little troubling since it was quite hard to catch something that was generally faster than you. In the moment, Felix thought of her family, what they would think of her catching frogs, being unladylike. While it was daunting at first, Felix smiled a little more, thinking it was something unique to her. Something that would be able to change everyone's perception on her and not just see her as another child to the Winters family.

Launching herself after the frog was basically a guaranteed way to scare it off and ruin any chances the pair of girls had for catching it. But that was half of the fun anyway, wasn't it? The frog bolted as Rowan crashed into the ground nearby, and she watched as the other girl chased after it, but it was too quick getting into the water. Ah well. "It was a good effort," she said, grinning up at the girl. She tried to wipe some of the mud off her pants, but ended up just smearing it more. "I wasn't really helpful either." Hey, at least she could admit to her faults.

She accepted the hand that Felix offered to help her to her feet, laughing as she glanced down at her clothes. "Just a little," she said, laughing. "Nothing a shower can't fix though." It wasn't the first time she'd found herself coated in mud, and she doubted it would be the last. "If you don't mind, I love to send him to my brother. Or her. Whatever it is," she said, at Felix's offer to take the frog in her pocket. "Theo - my brother - would think he's funny." And their mother would not be pleased by the fact that Rowan was running around and touching 'dirty animals'. Which really just made it better, didn't it? "All of this frog catching is making me hungry. Do you want to get some food with me?" she asked. She hoped it wasn't too early in their tentative friendship to prolong their interactions. She glanced down at her wet and muddy clothes. "Maybe I could meet you after I get cleaned up a little though. We might get kicked out of the Great Hall if I show up like this."
