The House Cup Archives

Ravenclaw's record-breaking streak had to come to an end at some point. After 5 consecutive months of house victories Gryffindor has defeated Ravenclaw for the house cup. Gryffindor smashed the competition this past month, earning 1482 house points to Ravenclaw's 1033. Gryffindor has earned more house points this past month than any house since March of 2021 (which was won also by Gryffindor). This is also the first time Gryffindor has won the house cup since May of 2021. This past month Hufflepuff earned 863 and finally Slytherin earned 861 house points. Is this going to become a trend? Will Gryffindor now attempt to steal Ravenclaw's victory or did they just want to prove that they had the 'stuff' to do it if they put their backs into it? Well, that will be for next month.

Congrats on the House Cup win!

Our top earner this month is @Evelynn Decipio, a Quidditch Captain and Prefect, she earned a tidy 128 house points this past month. This is followed by the incredibly hyperactive @Kim Sato who will be likely soon making me feel my age as they run circles around me, he earned 108 house points. Third was yet another Gryffindor, @Pax Zhang the Gryffindor Quidditch co-captain who endeavors to replace former pretty-boy captain Rafael has earned 105 house points. Fourth, another Gryffindor still, @Allison Krug and a new-comer to the community so I lack snarky commentary (give me time) earned her house 72 points. Following this quartet of hard-working Gryffindors was a duo of Ravenclaws: @Judith Cohen with 68 house points and the always busy (Duelling co-Captain, Writer, former Prefect) and yet still able to do a ton of homework @Pericles Dralt who earned his house 56 house points. These numbers are so very impressive, great job everyone!

The top six overall earners of May will be offered the opportunity to organize the Summer Event, this is the first time we have given students/players the opportunity to organize this event. They will have the opportunity to organise a summer camp events, which iNPCs from all schools in attendance. Camp takes place in July or August (up to staff as it lines up with quidditch, duelling etc). Please note: this is not a ball. Rather, students get the chance to organise official events in the camp that would go on the camp timeline. The summer is an important time for players to get together from all schools outside of Hogwarts proper. This will be important for the Hexwizard Tournament as well as some story opportunities. All students of winning house who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 102 chocolate frogs (worth 6 galleons).

February's winners are still hard at work preparing for the Blossom Ball which is ongoing. The excitement of the Hexwizard Tournament is underway. The school champions have been announced and this is the start of a plotline for many interested users.

At the end of this month, the top three earners of June will receive 3 Gold Frog Cards of the winner's choice and 102 chocolate frogs to open. All students of the winning house who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 102 chocolate frogs (worth 6 galleons) to open. (Those who qualify for both will get both 3 gold cards and 204 chocolate frogs).

Ravenclaw Top House For The Year

While this is not something we technically track, it is worthy of note. Ravenclaw has earned the most house points this past school year (Sept through June), earning a total of 9406 house points! They had earned the most consecutive house wins this past school year, but Gryffindor came in a close second having earned 8151 house points. While they might not have won many of the months this past year, they consistently earned well and really blew everyone away this past month. This was followed by Slytherin with 7970 and finally Hufflepuff with 7954.

Some might ask, what about those summer months! Well, I added that up too! Ravenclaw maintains the lead with a whopping 10626 house points, but the other three houses were right behind them and all had very close totals. Gryffindor with 9797, Slytherin with 9617 and Hufflepuff with 9505. Great job all of you!

There is no prizes or anything for this officially, but this is something worth celebrating. Every house did very well this past year!

Hufflepuff has earned themselves a close victory, ending the year on a strong note. Hufflepuff earned 854 house points, but they were closely followed by Slytherin who earned 841 house points. It was a close race this month! This would be Hufflepuff's first win in almost a year, their last victory was in July of 2021 when they earned 675 house points. Now that each of the houses has earned a recent house cup victory, is anyone going to be trying to beat the Ravenclaw streak? This past month Ravenclaw still earned 780 house points and Gryffindor brought home 778.

Our top earner this month is @Rita Su, a Hufflepuff that recently joined the site and has earned 120 house points. This is followed by @Beatrice Langstreth, a Ravenclaw who also only recently joined the site and has earned 103 house points. This is followed by @June Selwyn from Slytherin who has earned 76 house points. These numbers are so very impressive, great job everyone!

As for our February winners, the Spring festivities are about to come to a close. Thank them for all of their hard work! Their ball marks the start of the next story arc for the community -- the Hexwizard Tournament.

As for our May winners, announcements will be coming up shortly regarding Summer Camp and the events surrounding these activities. This will also be an opportunity for the iNPCs to mingle and develop a healthy rivalry. Camp will be taking place in August but players will be able to forward date. Please note: this is not a ball.

Next month is MONEY. Something most of you will want with the recent release of the potion system. The top three overall earners of July will be given 20 galleons, regardless of their house. All students of winning house who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 10 galleons. (Those who qualify for both will get 30 galleons).

Gryffindor has earned themselves a close victory, starting the school year off on a strong note. Gryffindor has earned 1062 house points, their closest competition was Ravenclaw with 997 who was followed closely by Slytherin with 964; in third was House Hufflepuff with a strong 841 House Points. This would be Gryffindor's first win since May when they earned a whopping 1482 House Points.

Our top earner this month is @Piérre Marchonné, who earned *rechecks with glasses* ahem 165 house points this past month. The reasoning a mystery to all of us. believe it or not that is not the record, the record still belongs to @Jake Morris whose sanity was in question the month of June of 2020. This is followed by @Pea Elena Fowl, a Slytherin who is well know for her lovely art. She earned 82 house points, which was unfortunately not enough to give her house the win. This is followed by @Harper Jordan from Ravenclaw who has earned 72 house points. Great job you three!

The top 6 earners for this month will be a part of the Autumn Ball Planning Committee for top 6 earners. This will include @Aurelia Notresvace (60 HP), and we have a three way tie for fifth including in no particular order @Dealla Prince (59 HP), @Alec Mason (59) and @Sophia Nelson (59 HP). So a slightly larger group than expected, please expect an owl in coming hours. These six seven will have the opportunity to organise an Autumn ball, which iNPCs from all schools will be in attendance. This ball should take place anytime in Sept-October (up to the organisers). iNPC applications have just opened up today and will remain open until Sept. 25.

In addition, all students of the winning house (Gryffindor) who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 102 chocolate frogs (worth ~10 galleons with sell-back).

Please be on the look-out for Hexwizard Tournament activities as well, this marks the start of a fresh attempt at a Main Story. The Hexwizard first stage will be happening in Oct. near the time of the ball (date pending organisers of the ball). Also the first sport games for the 2022-2023 school year will be happening around then as well, again dates pending the organisers of the ball.

As for our May winners, the Summer festivities are about to come to a close but many activities are still ongoing. Thank them for all of their hard work!

Next month is BROOMS for the top 3 and some galleons for winning house. To clarify, the top three overall earners of September will be given a broom of their choice (worth up to 22 Galleons) to use as they want. All students of the winning house who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 10 galleons. (Those who qualify for both will get a broom of their choice (up to 22 galleons) and 10 galleons - or a broom up to 32 galleons).

Slytherin has claimed the house cup for the first time in 2022 with a whopping 958 house points! Hufflepuff came in second with 803 points, followed by Gryffindor with 725 points, and bringing up the rear is Ravenclaw with 683 points. With it being summer for a huge population of the site - when so many people are away taking vacations - these are some impressive numbers!

So congratulations to Slytherin on July's house cup win!

Our top earners this month all hail from house Slytherin! In first place is @Monica Evans with 119 house points, contributing the most to her house's cup win! She is followed by her peer snake @June Selwyn, who earned 79 house points! And to round out the top three students of the month is Quidditch player @Avery Chen with 73 house points! Congratulations to all three of you!

The above top three overall earners of July will be given 20 galleons, and all students of the winning house (Slytherin) who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 10 galleons. Because our top three are all part of the winning house - they will be receiving a grand total of 30 galleons each!

As for our May winners, the Summer Camp that they organized is in full swing now - several of the events have started now that August is here! Make sure to join in on the fun if you haven't already!

Next month's prize is the FALL BALL PLANNING COMMITTEE. The top six overall earners of August will form a planning committee for Fall. They will have the opportunity to organize a Fall ball, with iNPCs from all schools in attendance. This ball should take place anytime in Oct-Nov (up to the organizers). All students of the winning house who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 102 chocolate frogs (worth ~ 10 galleons with sell-back). (Those who will qualify will get to organise the ball and get 102 frogs). This will be a big event with the Hexwizard tournament this year!

Ravenclaw claimed the September House Cup with 829 house points, a great kick-off for the first month of the school year! Hufflepuff followed closely behind with 799 house points, a valiant effort for the cup. In third place was House Gryffindor with 739 house points, and last but not least was House Slytherin with 714 house points. The last time Ravenclaw won the House Cup was in May. Congratulations on the House Cup Win!

Our top earners of September are starting the school year strong! In first place we have Huflepuff first-year @Avery McCall with a whopping 112 house points, which is nearly double the person in second place! It is clear that she was very motivated for the prize - a broom - considering she is a Quidditch player this year! With 59 house points this month, our second-place top earner is another first year - @Alora J. Graves of house Slytherin! Congratulations on a strong first impression! And our third-place top earner is a familiar face - @Harper Jordan of house Ravenclaw, with 52 house points! She was a top earner last month as well, and is on the Fall Ball planning committee. All three of our September top earners are being awarded a broom worth up to 22 galleons!

In addition, all students of the winning house (Ravenclaw) who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 10 galleons. For the one student who falls under each category (Harper), she will have the choice of a broom up to 32 galleons, or a broom up to 22 galleons with a separate payout of 10 galleons.

This month we have several events happening. iNPCs will be visiting from October 5th to October 24th, with the Fall Ball happening on October 8th and the first Hexwizard Task on October 23rd. Also this month, this school year's first sports games are taking place for Duelling, Broom Racing and Quidditch! OOC we also have Preptober for NANO happening this month, soon to be announced. Ravenclaw followed closely behind with 977 house points, a valiant effort for the cup. In third place was House Gryffindor with 879 house points, and last but not least was House Slytherin with 714 house points. The last time Hufflepuff won the House Cup was in June. Congratulations on the House Cup Win!

Our top earners of October have won themselves a cuddly (or perhaps not so cuddly) pet! In first place, we have Slytherin's @Jannette Applebottom with seventy-one points! In second place, we have Hufflepuff's @Illusia Bobich with sixty-five points. And just behind them, we have another Slytherin in third place - @Rebecca Loops coming in with fifty-four points! All of them are first-years, who will be able to claim themselves a free pet friend of their choice for their hard work and have already received instructions on how to do this via owl!

In addition, all students of the winning house (Hufflepuff) who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given 10 galleons. This will be given out shortly! The student (Illusia Bobich) who is a top earner and a member of Hufflepuff will be given both the pet and the 10 galleons!

This month we have several events happening. The iNPCs might have IC left in October but the Hexwizard Trials and the Fall Ball are still very much underway. We are still continuing most of the sports games. So it is a busy month for most players and moderators as we enjoy the great activities and events available to us. However, new to November, we have the NaNoWriMo challenge! Last month, we saw people start some prep work for it. However, even if you didn't prep, feel free to join in on the event taking place. Unwilling to let Hufflepuff take the win two months in a row, Slytherin took a surprise win with a late month homework and voting push that allowed them to slip past Hufflepuff the last days of the month. This is the first time that Slythein has won the House Cup since July 2022. Slytherin took the win with 915 house points. Hufflepuff followed closely behind with 875 house points, through the month they had made a valiant effort for the cup but in the end they fell short. In third place was House Ravenclaw with 798 house points, and last but not least was House Gryffindor with 574 house points. This was an off month for Gryffindor, they had not had such a low house point score since February 2020. Perhaps next month will be where month. Congratulations on the House Cup Win!

Our top earners of November have won themselves some special items. Our top earned was Pericles Dralt who challenged his house to complete more homeworks than him and then left the rest of the school in his dust. He earned 98 house points. This was followed by Rebecca Loops, a Slytherin first year, who earned 30 of those points in the last 3 days of the month. And in third, Colin McCoire who earned 31 house points the last 3 days of the month. Were these two partially responsible for that sudden turn? Well, maybe?

In addition, all students of the winning house (Slytherin) who have earned their house a minimum of 17 house points will be given a Fake Permission Form, as well as a Creepy Bear item from Knockturn Alley. Try not to die.

Ravenclaw took the win this past month with 1053 points! The nearest house was over 100 points behind, Slytherin with 952 points followed closely by Hufflepuff with 933 house points. Last but not least was House Gryffindor with 571 house points, their lowest house point score since February 2020. Perhaps next month will be their month. Congratulations on the House Cup Win!

Ravenclaw has won the first House Cup of 2023! They ended the month of January with 1490 house points, which is the second-most house points ever earned in a single month! (The current top score is also held by Ravenclaw, who earned 1568 house points in June of 2020. This knocks Gryffindor into third place for the most house points in a single month, as they used to have the number two spot with 1482 house points earned in May of 2022). This win marks a second month in a row for Ravenclaws. In second place this month was Slytherin with 1218 house points. In third place was Gryffindor with 1083 house points, a significant improvement from last month! And in fourth this month was Hufflepuff, with 993 house points. Congratulations to Ravenclaw on the House Cup Win!

The top three overall earners of January have each won 20 galleons. Our top spot this month belongs to Damion White, a Ravenclaw fourth-year who is both a Quidditch player and a site mentor. His 111 house points helped his house claim the cup! Our second-place top earner is Beatrice Langstreth, another Ravenclaw whose 106 house points also contributed to the house cup win! Although she is a second-year, she is definitely a familiar face whose hard work is leaving a positive impression on the community. And our third-place top earner is Aurora Griffith, a Hufflepuff first-year whose 102 house points makes up more than 10% of Hufflepuff's house points this month! Well done to all three of you!
