Missing The Missing Closed

Her blonde hair flew in the breeze as she turned her head to meet Jane's gaze. "Thank you." She responded, smiling softly. Jane meant well, and that was what mattered. Alexx was lucky to have met someone so caring, someone, to keep her tethered to reality and out of her head. It was a simple yet kind gesture that put a genuine smile on her face. Jane truly was a Hufflepuff, and that was a compliment. Everyone could do for a little kindness.

"There is nothing we can do about the choices or fate of our families. Don't worry." Alexx wasn't sure if she was reassuring Jane that she needn't be sorry, or Sophie, trying to convince her that it would all work out for the better in due time. Or maybe it was herself. Maybe she needed to convince herself that she wasn't her parents. That one day, she'd give her own children a better life than this. If it was herself she was trying to convince, it wasn't working, so she could only hope she made one of the other two girls feel better.

Even so, it felt good to try and pretend it wasn't there. For them, them being all the kids at Hogwarts in this position, it wasn't there. Not now, at least. Hogwarts was an escape for them. That was something they all had in common.
