Meeting of the Lions
It was difficult for Falke to accept they could only sit around and wait for something bad to happen. They walked the grounds without directional purpose reflecting that of their directionless path concerning the mask and the puppet master. There could be a danger, but even still with only rumors of a possible intruder and no solid evidence within, there was not enough they could use to act. The students were exposed to the chance of danger. It was an all too familiar concept to Quill he thought he left behind.
“What sort of daily presence does the ministry have at Hogwarts during their investigation?” he asked. ”I don’t think I’ve noticed anyone but then again I likely only see about... one percent of the entire campus.”
The helplessness ate away at his psyche, begging him to think of a plan or course of action to midigate anything large scale. Not another year like back then. But nothing came to mind other than sending the children back home, which would do more harm than good in the long run.
”Maybe if we consider the motives,” Quill suggested. ”Maybe even the Ministry already has leads. But if we think of why someone would go to all this effort we can determine where they intend to go or what they intend to do specifically here. And once we know that we can predict the moves. See the next steps. It’s...maybe it’s all more simple in my head than it really is. What sorts of valuables would someone be after to go through this amount of trouble? Or perhaps it is to stir trouble for some other narrative or means?”
