Paper butterflies and new friends

Rani lifted her quill from the paper and looked at the notes. She quickly read through them one more time, squinting her eyes in order to read her own, tiny handwriting. She then picked up her quill again, dipped it in ink and started correcting some mistakes. The girl had spent most of the afternoon in the library, working on this one particular assignment. Even though she kept making mistakes, she was determinded to get a perfect grade.
Rani glanced at the butterflies next to her work. They were made out of the pieces of parchment that contained her first attempts at her homework. Instead of crumpling up the paper, she had folded them into little origami butterflies.
The girl bit on the tip of her quill, and paused for a moment. She wished someone would keep her company, other than the paper butterflies. Rani then decided to take a quick break, and stood up from her chair. She walked towards the library's tall bookshelves and glanced at the book titles. One book cover caught her attention. She grabbed the book, when suddenly she could feel someone bump into her. The book slid out of the fingers and fell.
Immediately, Rani turned around. "What are you doing?" she asked, slightly annoyed.

Paper butterflies and new friends
Trying to find the library was a nightmare for Myra. There were so many halls and corridors that led to thousands of rooms. She turned to corner and groaned in annoyance as she has passed this same hall at least five times. Just when she is about to give up she gets a glimpse of a row of books through a corridor door. Oh my gosh, finally, she sighs in relief. It was Myra's free period and she wanted to get a new book to read in the mornings and evenings. She loved to wake up early in the morning and sit by the lake to read. Same goes for in the evenings. After her classes she would do her homework and then go back to the lake, sit by a tree, and just read until she got tired or bored. Now that she thinks about she realizes how much of a nerd she is. Once she entered the library she immediately when to the romance section. She scanned the titles and when she found an interesting title she would read the summary. While she was browsing the books she ran into someone. The books fell right out of the girls hand and onto the floor. The girl immediately turned around, "what are you doing?" Her voice had a hint of annoyance in it. "I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going," Myra apologized, "here let me help." With that Myra bent down and grabbed the books on the floor. She then handed them to the girl waiting for her to take them back.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. Here let me help." The girl that had bumped into Rani immediately bent down and picked up the book from the floor. She then gave it back to her. The girl seemed very calm and sweet, which made Rani regret the angry tone she had used before.
"Oh, thank you for helping me," she said as she nervously laughed. "And I'm sorry for being rude to you before. I obviously didn't mean it."
It was awkwardly silent for a moment. Rani wondered if she could just walk away without it being weird. But she didn't move, and instead quickly glanced at the girl in front of her. It looked like she was a first year too, maybe a little short for her age. Rani couldn't really tell if her hair was blonde or brown, but it was a pretty colour nonetheless.
"Uhm..." Rani tried to break the silence, but she had a hard time thinking of something to say. "Well, do you want to sit with me? We can read together." She still felt slightly embarrassed, and didn't want to make a bad impression. "I'm Rani, by the way, Rani Adler. What's your name?"
