Ivy's father was born to Adam and Lucy Arnette. Adam Arnette was a doctor for muggles. He always loved looking at how the muggle body worked differently than wizards and witches. During this time he was working on a book about his discoveries on the human body. He shared his work with his son, Victor. Victor admired his father and wanted to be just like him. This is how Victor decided to become an author so he could show Adam his work. Sadly, when Victor was about 20, Adam passed away due to overworking himself. Lucy was devastated but continued her husband's work. Victor was even more determined to make his father proud by becoming a popular author for both muggles and wizards.

Ruka Arnette was born to Mami and Eren Tobichii. Both her parents owned a bakery in Tokyo, Japan with both muggles and wizards coming to taste the delicious goodies consisting of macaroons, scones, mini pies, traditional Japanese wasabi and mint cake, and lots of different sweets. Since Ruka grew up in a bakery, she always dreamed of having her own. When she turned 21, she said goodbye to her parents and flew to Paris, France to open up her own bakery with her sisters Madoka and Misao. She bought a small, cottage-like building, and called it "Small Cottage Bakery". One day, when she opened up her little shop, a man named Victor Arnette came and ordered three dozen macaroons for a funeral. Ruka and Victor spent more time together, sharing their hopes and dreams. Later on, they would marry and have three children together. Ruka and Victor went back to Japan on their honeymoon so that they could meet Ruka's parents.

Homura and Hinami were born in Japan as twins. For the first few years of their life, they lived with their parents and grandparents until their family moved back to Paris to continue the bakery. Hinami and Homura grew up together and did everything together. You could never find them apart from one another. When they turned ten their mother announced she was going to have a baby. Being the only children, Hinami and Homura didn't want a sibling. They feared it would get in the way with their close bond. When the time came, Ivy was born. Hinami and Homura didn't like her, so they were ecstatic when they were accepted into Beauxbatons Academy together. They were in the same houses, same classes, etc. They spent more and more time together. Hinami and Homura live together and don't plan on ever separating from each other.
