Background: Evie McCarthy was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland by her parents. She has no siblings, so sometimes she can get a bit bored. However, she does have a few friends in the Muggle neighborhood that she lives in that keep her company.
Joseph McCarthy is Evie's father. He is a half-blood wizard himself who works as a minor actor for a friend's small film business. His wife, Grace McCarthy, a muggle, is an editor for one of the local papers. The two met by chance when Grace had gone to view a theatrical show that Joseph was performing in. In 2008 the couple married, though they didn't have their first and only child Evie until 2011.
Evie's first instance of magic was when she was about five years old. Her mother took her to get her hair cut at the local hair salon. However, Evie was rather frightened of getting her hair cut, and instead of the scissors searing through her hair they broke in half! Her mother, being a muggle, was unsure how to react this phenomenon.
