Self-Defense Club

If you have spent any time at all living in the magical world, or learning its history, you have likely already deduced that it is a world filled wth danger. Arguably, the whole point of mandatory magical education is so that the wix of the world know how to defend themselves, but there is a gap in that knowledge, and a bias we intend to overcome. Have you ever been afraid of what will happen if you are caught without your wand, or it gets stolen or broken? If you need to use an improvised weapon, do you know how to swing it without hurting yourself? If the safety of you and your closest friends is always on your mind, you should sign up for the Self Defense Club!

This club aims to prepare its members to defend themselves physically, be it with their arms and legs, a sword, or by teaching the fundamentals of muggle survival. We endeavor to spread the knowledge and engender a sense of security and self-confidence in its members all while having fun competitions. Make friends and discover self-reliance as you prepare yourself for whatever insane situation will befall you next. Gryffindor prefects Xailah Alptraum and Alan Vanes are there to keep everything above board, so read the rules carefully before joining!

Rules
OOC Guidelines

➠Basic site rules apply. Adhere to the site rating. Failure to do so will result in a removal from the club.
➠Harassment of any sort OOC will not be tolerated. You will be removed from the club. Respect each other.
➠Violence must not exceed the PG13 rating. No graphic descriptions of extreme violence or gore of any sort.
➠This is a safe environment, everything done inside the club or outside must be done with consent. Don't start beating into someone's character just because you can. We're not monkeys.
➠Do not attack teammates, or club members. This can have IC consequences, and you may miss out on future events. If you have OOC issues with your team, speak up.
➠All players must be registered in the Official Index, in order to participate.
➠All players must be active for at least a month in order to join.
➠Communication is encouraged. Talk to us.

Tenets
IC Rules

Ⅰ. Don't talk about Fight Club. While this is not a secret club, we don't like to hear others flaunt about it. So don't brag. Don't boast. Be humble.
Ⅱ. No weapons, or wands (unless authorized for an activity). If found these items will be confiscated temporarily.
Ⅲ. Fighting without supervision is not condoned (unless absolutely necessary). Have some respect. This is a fight club, not a pub.
Ⅳ. Attacking clubmates is not permitted. You're all here for one reason, and that reason is not to assault your peers. Such an action will result in removal from the club.
Ⅴ. Stop means stop. Safety in our main priority here. When a peer asks you to stop doing something (anywhere, but especially when sparring), you will listen. You will not keep beating into your opponents just because you can.

Violation of OOC rules will result in a removal and ban from the club. Characters will not be removed for IC rule breaks (unless agreed upon for whatever reason), but may be threatened with removal in character.

Schedule

Meetings are held regularly, and bi-weekly IC. Tournaments will take place twice a year, with small practices and mini-events occupying the space between.
