Sorting Ceremony
To say that John was terrified would be an understatement, and standing at the center of the group made him feel even more nervous than he already was. Watching the kids around him start to go forward was about as nerve racking as getting turbulence on a plane. John started to let his mind wander as a way of trying to cope with his anxiety. When he got a letter saying he was excepted to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry he thought it was nothing more than a joke. Who would have thought that only a couple of months later he had seen things that seemed like they came out of a movie. Diagon Alley was as confusing as it was amazing to behold, it was as if he had fallen into one of the books he had enjoyed so much to read. As the sorting hat slowly made its way through the letters of the alphabet it snapped John's attention back to the sorting process. In his lack of attention he failed to notice that the hat had gotten to J.
"John Penton." Was called out into the crowd.
John's heart started beating hard in his chest as he started shuffling towards the hat. He felt uncomfortable at the amount of eyes that were focused his way but keep moving hoping to get it over with. As he sat upon the stool and the hat was placed upon his head John was hit with a wave of curiosity, what house was he going to get put into?
"Hmmmm." The ancient voice within the hat spoke. "A book worm. You seem to not have much experience outside of your comfort zone. And yet I feel an adventures spirit behind you're walls. I believe that you belong in GRYFFINDOR!"
As the table that John believed to be Gryffindor clapped and cheated at the newest member he started making his way to any empty seat he could find.
Watching the rest of the students get sorted John couldn't help but think that this year would be the most exciting year of his life.

Sorting Ceremony
Illusia exchanged alert glances with a student who was standing behind her. She'd found her place in the line a teacher was instructing them into, and was now content to direct her focus to the hall. Illusia could see four long table filled with dishes, each one more flavory looking than the one she'd previously set her gaze on, and she could even smell the rich aromas all they way here. She realised she was starving. The Hogwarts Express had departed in the morning and they'd finally arrived when it was already dark, and all she had eaten was her breakfast and some sweet snacks from the trolley. She could barely think properly with all this nervousness and hunger bothering her.
Suddenly they were instructed to start filing into "the Great Hall." Illusia's head rolled back as her and the line of students moved through the doors. The ceiling was... There was no ceiling? Illusia gaped at it, as whatever it was, it was quite beautiful, until someone nudged her in the back. Illusia hurried to catch up with the line but they came to a stop in front of all the tables. Simultaneously, she realised she was at the top end of the line for a reason. The headmaster, who she now could see in his full glory, armor and beard, stormy eyes and indulgent half-smile, began talking.
"Welcome first year students. I am Solomon Lear, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As it is our tradition here we are going to engage in our first ceremony known as the sorting ceremony."
The way the hall had silenced completely for him was like magic, she thought, amusing herself. She froze her bouncing leg in place and thought of something else to distract herself with. She was a Bobich, of course she would be among the first students to have their turn.
But wasn't the speaking hat so funny looking? How could such a frumpy hat, no matter the intelligence, be the one who would determine her future? She turned her attention to the older students and tried to determine which house had the best team spirit, but they all seemed content with each other. She could even see someone whisper something to a student from another table. They seemed to get whacked for it.
She knew from Hogwarts, A History enough about the houses to consider her preference. She had book smarts, but she wasn't sure she had that academic spark of brilliance Ravenclaw were often assigned. Weren't they supposed to be very clever and good at learning, to the point that studying seemed easy? While she would've liked that, she grudged to admit it wasn't her. She hadn't even considered Slytherin. She didn't have the patience or the heart to plan her and other peoples lives like that. Perhaps, then, Gryffindor?
"Bobich, Illusia!" Illusia was snatched out of her pondering when Headmaster Lear called out a familiar name. Right, everyone else before her had gone already. She took a second to re-orient her thoughts and looked sheepishly at the headmaster as she approached the stool. Would the students whose house she ended up in even like her? She'd noticed many first years already seemed to have some familiar faces in the crowd who'd cheer the loudest when their brother, sister, cousin, maybe friend, got into the same house. She knew no one.
She lingered a few steps away from the stool. The teacher holding the hat was waiting. It's just a stool and a hat, she thought, yet couldn't move. Maybe she wasn't cut out to be a witch. How could she ever become anything like the people she'd read about in her new books?
The teacher took a look at the headmaster and like given permission, ushered her to sit. Illusia's shoulders almost rose up to her ears as the hat went down over her forehead. "HUFFLEPUFF!" The hat howled nearly the instant it had settled on Illusia's head, almost like it had known the entire time and had been impatiently waiting for her to get on with it. Illusia sprang up like a frightened cat and almost took the hat with her, but she turned around and set the hat back on the stool, then tried to move to the cheering and banging Hufflepuff table in a way that was a bit more dignified. She blushed at all the attention, but in all honesty the cheers didn't bother her, rather made her excited, although she kept her gaze down as she went.

The night before the 1st of September, Sara was so excited that she couldn't sleep. She was awaiting her first magical day: a trip to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the beginning of that beautiful and magical journey. After the ride on the Hogwarts Express and riding in boats to the magnificent Hogwarts castle, the day has finally reached its peak: it’s time for Sorting Ceremony!
When Sara first arrived at Hogwarts castle, she was astonished by the greatness of the castle and its magnificence. She has never seen such a huge and spacious building; she just wondered how many rooms it has and how students and professors move through the whole building. Do they fly on their brooms or something? The atmosphere in the caste was also grand, especially in the Great Hall. The Great Hall is a long room with four sets of tables. The whole room was decorated with millions of candles and it looked like it had no ceiling, like it was see-through. Sara heard from other students that the ceiling is enchanted with a certain charm that makes it look see-through. You can even see the stars and the moon! So magical!
Sara talked with her fellow first-years in the boat about what was going to happen after they get to the castle. One girl said to her that they’ll be going to get sorted into houses. She also learned that there are 4 houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Every one of them has the traits according to which students are sorted into their houses. Sara didn’t quite remember those traits, but she knew she didn’t want to be in Slytherin because they are the so-called “evil” house. The sorting is done by the Sorting Hat; an old hat that can talk and it once belonged to the founder of Gryffindor house. It was a lot for Sara, considering she knew nothing about magic beforehand…
Sara was standing with her fellow future classmates and the headmaster of Hogwarts, Solomon Lear, was giving his speech and introducing all the professors. He also presented the infamous Sorting Hat which could talk and also sing. It sang a song about Hogwarts, its founders and houses and when it was done, the Headmaster started to call out the names of students that are going to be sorted. It was ordered alphabetically, therefore it will be Sara’s turn very soon.
Sweaty palms, knots in her stomach and a lump in Sara’s throat were signs of nervousness of her soon sorting. She was afraid she’ll get sorted into Slytherin or some house where she doesn’t belong. And she’ll have to stay with them for the next seven years! It could be a nightmare… So when the Headmaster called her name, she went straight to the stool and sat down. She just wanted this to be over and to finally found out where she belongs.
The Hat was now on Sara’s head whose heart was racing. She had already realized that the Hat was alive and intelligent and capable of talking, but she did not expect that the Hat would conduct a monologue right in her head.
A bit nervous, eh? – the hat teased her.
Sara just anxiously squirmed on the stool.
Let’s see… Hmm. Plenty of kindness, I see. Not a bad mind either. There's talent and a hard-working nature — and a nice dose of ambition, now that's interesting... So where shall I put you?"
Please not Slytherin. Put me somewhere I belong… - Sara thought to herself.
Not Slytherin, eh? Are you sure? You could be great, you know, it’s all here in your head, and Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that — no? Well, if you’re sure — better be RAVENCLAW!
At last, Sara belongs in wise ol’ Ravenclaw, full of wit and learning where she will, hopefully, find her kind.
This definitely was a day to remember!

Now is the time, one of the moments Violet has been most curious and excited about, she has been waiting for this moment to go to Hogwarts ever since she learned she is a witch. It was all a very exciting and mysterious anticipation for her, to see whatever comes next, what adventures are waiting for her, the magic spells she will learn, the friendships she’ll make and which house will be like her second home!
When she entered the great hall, with her excited yet a bit nervous state of mind, Violet found herself intrigued by what she saw. The Great Hall was big, very big, with four very long tables next to each other. She also looked up and noticed the flying candles up above, illuminating the big ceiling.
The headmaster announced the sorting ceremony beginning. When the meanings of the houses were announced Violet felt more clear. She assumed that hat was sorting based on the students' personalities.
Violet had a better idea about the Ravenclaw house, as his father was a Ravenclaw at hogwarts. She heard it was a house for smart, intelligent people, she would like to be smart and intelligent. Violet and his dad didn't have the most loving relationship but perhaps they were more alike than she thought and she would be Ravenclaw as well?
As she was lost in her thoughts, speculating what can happen during this current situation, she heard her name being called and that startled her a bit.
She walked towards the hat hesitantly but in fast steps. When the hat was put in her head, it immediately started talking, was it talking in her head or out loud?
“Hmm, I see, I see, well this is a bit of a different one, i can see you carry many potential qualities in yourself, you have smart qualities indeed, but you are not very studious are you? You do whatever you most care about..”
‘So I'm not ravenclaw?’ she wondered inside her head but the hat knew what she was thinking so it continued.
“You are intelligent, but I see much more apparent qualities and values you have..you have a desire to prove yourself, don't you? You want to accomplish big things in life, you have ambition..very strong ambition, you truly belong in SLYTHERIN.”
Hat yelled its decision out loud for everyone to hear, leaving Violet kinda shocked but happy. It felt like the hat acknowledged the deepest desires she had, which was true, the hat was completely right, she felt proud and confident all of sudden.
Sorting hat left her head and Violet walked towards the table who was happily applauding and cheering her.

Kierce sat there with one with his headphones turned down low he could hear everything he just didn't want any communication with the fellow newcomers. Most of his time was spent siting there and thinking about the houses he knew where he wanted to be gryffindor[/b][/b]. He was brave he knew that, but he was ambitious and loyal he felt like a jack of all trades trying to pick their best ability. He knew the house that he never wanted to hear or see Slytherin. He heard horror stories on the train coming from the other compartment since he didn't want to be near anyone, and it sounded terrible he also heard that they made fun of muggle born witches and wizards which was a group he was apart of.
He was listening to songs when he heard the kid in front of him get called he didn't realize it was on a stage, Kierce started to hyperventilate and have a panic attack. Soon he could hardly breathe he heard a shout of "Hufflepuff!" and Applause from the other side. A voice yelled "Kierce Gray!" to that he almost passed out, he got up after a few seconds took some deep breathes and put on a fake grin.
Keirce strode onto the platform the area was amazing candles floating in mid-air with the ceiling being a clear night. he sat on the chair placed for the students feeling fearful of what everyone was saying about him. Out of the blue a hat was dropped on his head. "quiet kid huh, you have the brains for ravenclaw, but the ambition and cunning of Slytherin." it said by now Kierce was in a cold sweat. "Your brave I'll give you that but your need to prove and make your goals and ambitions out-weighs that." is said as if muttering to itself Kierce began to hyperventilate again. The hat continued "I know this may feel like torture kid but it's alright" Kierce still had anxiety a few seconds later the hat shouted "for your ambition and cunning I put you in...... Slytherin!" Green flags and ties where flung up from the table of Slytherin. Kierce got up and strode over sitting where there was no one and listening to music in his headphones. He sighed and went to his commons with the other Slytherins and sat there worrying until it was lights out.

Calling Faye nervous would be an understatement. She was basically shaking from head to toe. Going up in front of everyone wasn't ideal for her, and she was worried she would mess up somehow. She watched as the other first years get sorted into their houses. she recalled her father saying something on the lines that he was in Slytherin when attending Hogwarts and couldn't help but wonder if she would be sorted in the same house.
Though she wouldn't have to wait long.
"Quinelly, Faye!"
She quietly made her way through the crowd of first years, saying polite words of excuse. she sat on the stool, and the hat was placed on her head.
"Hmmm!" The sorting hat hummed rather abruptly, startling her where she sat. "yes, ah, your very courageous, would do well in Gryffindor. Though a very intelligent mind, as well as creative. hmm Yes, might as well be....." Faye waited patiently, though nervous about the outcome. "Ravenclaw!"
Faye smiled faintly, her house table erupting into cheers. It may not be her father's house, but she felt like she would fit in this house. Her father didn't talk about Ravenclaw much, that most were bookworms, which Faye doesn't mind in the slightest considering she's one herself. She made her way to the table of blue, watching in awe as her robes changed into the same blue as them. she really did look like one of them now. Faye couldn't wait to see where Hogwarts lead her.

It was time she had to separate from her brother a bit ago since he was a second year. He was sitting with the second years at the table of his house. She was kind of scared the crowd of new students so big yet so quiet. She listened to all the rules but wasn't sure she could remember them all. She sighed her orangish red hair running down her back. She started having her mind drift as students were slowly called up.
She wondered would she be in Gryffindor like one of her sisters and father, would she be in Ravenclaw like Ryan? or would she be in Hufflepuff like her eldest brothers. What would she be who did she want to be. She hoped to be in the same house as her hero, but she also didn't know if that was her.
Soon the sorting hat called out "Raelynn Lakes" she would walk up to the hat then it would say "More lakes, but where to put you?" She was scared and didn't want to be in the same house of as her father which was Gryffindor, but she then thought to the hat "I trust you" she would leave it up to the hat to decide.
"So, leaving it up to me are you, a rare thoughtful one" it said. "Creative and very curious yet loyal and humble" it said. Her heart pounding soon as she locked eyes with someone in the crowd she relaxed it was her brother Ryans eyes. He was watching her he seemed so proud of his little sister. Soon the hat read this "I see close bond with your sibling" it said. "Ok I have chosen where i think you would be best placed" he said as she had her eyes look up at the hat that was on her head.
"Your magical Adventure begins in Ravenclaw" it said as it was taken off her head she got up and headed to the table.

Here she was...finally! About to be sorted into her House! Perhaps she'd be a Gryffindor like her father and eldest brother? Or a Ravenclaw like her mother-or even a Hufflepuff like her brother? Her uncles were Slytherins but she wasn't sure that quite suited her... Or perhaps it did, she truly wasn't sure.
"Daphne Sapphirus!"
As soon as her name was called, Daphne swiftly stepped forward as if it was an instinctive reaction. She stood up tall and headed over to the chair, taking a seat. The Sorting Hat would be put on top of her head, immediately beginning to think out loud. "A Sapphirus...hmm..your family is a mix of houses. I sense compassion...sweetness and purity. I can see you are not as full as yourself as your brother, Cyrus.." It chuckled. The hat took a moment to hum to itself before finally speaking in a booming voice.
"Hufflepuff!!"
And with that, everyone cheered and clapped, Daphne standing up with a beaming smile on her face. She couldn't have been happier! She was a Hufflepuff just like her brother, Ryuu! Oh, her parents would be so proud of her! Daphne made her way to the Hufflepuff table with her head held high, ready to watch the rest of the ceremony.

Edith sailed among the sea of children as the first years were let into the hall, smiling softly as she took in the magical sight of the great hall. Its glimmering night sky of a ceiling mesmerized her along with the candles that floated high above their heads. Not even her mum would do any of that and she was the strongest witch she knew! She listened to the chatter around her as the young students were packed into the middle of the hall like sardines and once the headmaster commanded silence, her eyes were glued to the front where all her new teachers were sitting and the sorting hat was set on the stool. Mum told me about getting sorted… ‘Just take a deep breath and let it sort you. I’ll love you no matter what.’ She let out a little exhale through her nose as she recalled her mother trying to comfort her about being sorted and wanting to get into ‘the right house’
And there it was. Names were starting to be called and Edith had felt her heart start to hammer in her chest. The steady, excited pace quickly escalated to a stampede as they went down the list of C names, chewing on the inside of her cheek as she watched her classmates separate from the group one by one and trot off to their respective tables, hoping that the people she ended up sitting next to were at least nice.
“D’Ambrosio, Edith!” the hat called out her name with the booming voice it had been using all evening and she nearly flinched but took a deep breath as she made her way out of the crowd and onto the stool. She let the hat be set on her head and she looked up at the wide, brown leather brim before glancing out at the expectant faces of those seated before her. She took that deep breath, trying to hand her nervous hands in her lap with the billowing sleeves of her robes and the hat started to chatter away about how her mind was moving a mile a minute.
“Well then, with such an active and inquisitive mind, you belong in Ravenclaw!” the hat announced. The table hosting her new housemates erupted in cheers and the hat was promptly taken off of her head as her robes and tie changed from grey to a deep vibrant blue, a small smile sneaking it’s way to her lips as she hopped off of the stool and made her way to the long dinner table. She walked along the bench until there was a free space and she sat down, happy to have found a new home.

Rebecca shuffled his feet nervously as he stood in the long line before the tattered old hat. All around him he heard excited whispers, "Which house are you hoping for?" "Ravenclaw, surely," "I fancy myself a Hufflepuff," "Good God I hope I'm not a Slytherin," and fidgeted with the sleeve of his robe. In his chest he could feel a tight ball of nervous energy wrapping over his heart.
There was no house that had ever felt like it called to him, even when he grew up hearing his parents and sisters tell fond tales of their experiences in their own houses. Too laxidaisical to be a Slytherin or Ravenclaw, too heedless to be a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. In truth, part of him secretly was terrified that the hat might declare him unfitting for any house and that he should be sent home immediately. Please at the very least let me be in Hufflepuff, he silently begged.
A boy to his left nudged him with an elbow, and in a show of bravado he gave a wide-eyed looking girl next to him a goofy smile before stepping up to the stool. Hopefully no one noticed his clenched fists trembling at his sides. The haggard-looking headmaster plopped the sorting hat on Rebecca's head without much fanfare, and it immediately slipped over his eyes. For a second he sat there, feeling a bit like an idiot, before a little voice sounded in his head.
"There's more to you than meets the eye, boy. A good deal of craftiness, and some spark to you as well. Cheek, cunning, nerve... you'll meet who you need, better be-- SLYTHERIN!"
Rebecca shoved the hat from his eyes and saw that the Slytherin table was cheering and clapping and felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders. Thank God, I belong somewhere, he thought in relief as he grinned and took his seat with the rest of his house.
