Mutiny Game 1 Summer Camp '22

Reminder:

Current deadline is Friday, September 16th. If there are a lot still to post/vote, I will extend it by 1 day and do the mod post the following day to give you time to do so.

Tomorrow will be the 15th and only Pierre and Emma have posted/voted so far!

There will be one last reminder at the end of tomorrow and I will decide whether to extend the deadline 1 more day to give people time to post. Most likely I will since only 2 people have posted/voted so far. Hopefully the rest will do so, we need to keep this game going so we can finish!

Also, I've received an owl from the Hunter already but the Wolves and the Protector still have to owl me. Please do so as soon as possible, thank you!

And just like that Monica was gone. Dead. Offed because some other people decided she couldn't be trusted. And in the end, it turned out she was one of them. Human. One of the good guys just trying to make it through. Bea rolled her eyes at the rest of the assemblage. Monica had received 7 votes and Pax 5. Perhaps Monica had gotten too close to the truth about the wolves and they had decided to team up against her? It would be easy enough, Bea mused, looking around at the rest of the people. All five wolves and and few others wouldn't be hard to do. Even though it was tragic, Monica's death confirmed even more to Bea that Pax was a wolf. Maybe if she followed the trail and actually used her brain, she would be able to discover who Pax's wolf buddies actually were. She cringed slightly at the fact she would have to convince others though. It wasn't her strongest skill, charisma. But she would brave it. Her stubbornness knew she was right in this whole ordeal, and even without the protector helping, who seemed to just be protecting themselves, but that was another story, Bea was determined to go down with a fight. Even if she did die the next night...

Swashbuckler Florian hadn't been sure of his vote, but it seemed that quite the bandwagon had formed alongside him. They all sentenced Monica to death with seven votes, and unfortunately, Monica had been a human. Florian had been incorrect. "Merde..." Shit he muttered under his breath. Sure he hadn't felt completely confident about his choice, but he thought he was at least on the right track, and now he had nothing. And now there was soon to be an imbalance of wolves to humans, effectively sentencing them all to death. There wasn't anything Florian could say or do that would change the matter that he felt this death was on his hands, and he needed to put things right. Problem was, how was he to do that?

He would shake his head in disbelief as he turned to hole himself up in the cabin for the rest of the night, and wouldn't speak to the others, still both distraught and unsure of himself.

The next morning meant another death among the cabin, and this time it was Dutchess. Florian sighed. He hadn't been particularly suspicious of her, and he didn't know here well, but it meant there was another innocent taken by the wolves. Their numbers were thinning down dangerously low, and Florian just didn't know what to do anymore. He thought he had been on the right path, thought he was suspicious of the right people, but in the end, what did it truly matter? Thoughts of loss ran through the boys head, and he tried to push them aside.

This game wasn't over yet, he still had a ways to go before he gave up. Trying to reinvigorate himself, he tried to think critically about those who were still left.

Even with death waiting for them every morning, Silver found herself following a routine. She would see what unfortunate soul had become prey the night before (hopefully not herself!), she would listen to accusations on the deck, and she would confer with the Duchess. This morning she set upon her routine, but alas, it was the Duchess who was now the victim.

Silver's stomach dropped. Who could she trust now? She could have a tentative alliance with Pax and with Walter, the other person who the Duchess last conferred with—but Silver was easily following the Duchess' lead here. Without her, Silver was unsure she could stay sane navigating the accusations and plank walks by herself.

Then Silver remembered something the Duchess had said to her: Bubba talks too much. Had t the Duchess been throwing around suspicions or had she known something more? Had she been trying to tell Silver something about Bubba? It was interesting that she suspected him, didn't vote him for the plank, and wound up dead.

It was the only clue that Silver had to this whole mystery really. She decided to vote against the person her late friend had suspected, but she had no idea if it were the right choice.

The more time passed, the more members the crew lost. Every night, someone was killed by the wolves. And every morning, someone was found guilty of the previous night's murder. It wasn't very fair, but that was the game. It was now the fourth night and only a little over half of the original crew remained. And no wolves had been killed. Good for them. But not so good for the others.
Astrid joined the small group present around Xailah's body. The Durmstrang girl quickly counted in her head before realizing that the wolves had no apparent strategy, except to kill people at random. Without order. She didn't know if the victims knew each other. If they knew the wolves. In any case, Astrid didn't see any clue to trace the five wolves.
But something told her that Bubba might be guilty. Xailah and Astrid had both said that the boy talked too much. And Xailah had suspected him for longer. Bubba must have gotten scared and decided to kill the Gryffindor.
Astrid examined the crew, looking for clues, but nothing. The wolves were doing their job well. The girl could feel the pressure and the fear that was beginning to take hold of the others. Astrid knew that it was only a game, she was not afraid. She almost wanted to shout "It's only a game! What are you afraid of?" but she didn't want to appear too suspicious.

Each day was more horrifying than the last – Nessie naively hoped each day that it all would be over, and then when reality struck that another crewmate turned up dead, it was somehow even more deeply agonizing.

She joined the group to mourn the loss of their most recently departed comrades, thinking frantically to try to figure it all out. There had to be an answer here, if only she thought hard enough and unraveled the mystery, right?

But the more Nessie thought, the less she knew who to trust. Pax’s continued survival was as suspicious as ever, but Nessie couldn’t bring herself to risk voting for someone who could be their last chance at protection from the senseless deaths that came at night. And then there were the other suspicions of all those who’d already died that she could go on – but wasn’t that how some of the other innocents had been voted out? What if Bubba was innocent, just as Monica had been?

It seemed the suspicions flying might be just that: suspicions and no more. Nessie looked around at the others, hoping someone might divulge some evidence, but afraid to ask lest she put a target on her own back. She hardly knew anybody here, so the question of who she could trust remained especially tricky.

But if they didn’t do something soon, they’d all die, wouldn’t they? Nessie frantically looked around at the others, hoping someone would talk with her so that maybe they could solve the mystery, but too shy to start up a conversation.

Despite voting for Pax yet again, Vivienne's suspicions that were still very much evident were futile as everyone who had voted for Monica reigned supreme. Unfortunately, it turned out that Monica was once again human, and they had just killed another one of their own. Vivienne's suspicions about Pax were still in the very forefront of her mind, but it seemed the others on board didn't agree with her suspicions. Maybe they would have to soon, because something kept telling Vivienne that Pax was a wolf.

Night quickly turned into day, and devastatingly they had awoken to yet another person killed. This time it was Xailah. The only thing was, Vivienne wasn't sure who was a wolf anymore. Everyone was suspicious to her but at the same time, they weren't. Maybe she should vote for Pax again. But if she did it might just prove useless if no one else has the same suspicions as her. Vivienne turned her head, looking around to see who else looked suspicious or who was being too quiet. And then her eyes landed on someone who hit that exact criteria. The girl, Quinn, had barely said a word since she had gotten on board, and Vivienne's pretty sure she's seen her crying at least once.

"Okay," Vivienne started, hoping people would listen to her, "I know we might have our suspicions on people who talk too much, which makes sense. Maybe the people who talk too much are trying to hide something, but I also think we should focus on people who haven't said anything at all. Sure, being silent for a bit to think is okay, but you know who has barely said a single word since they've gotten on board? Her," she pointed at Quinn, hoping everyone would follow where her finger is pointing to see the girl, "and, I'm honestly pretty sure I saw her crying earlier when we found another dead body. Why? Maybe they were mourning, or maybe, they felt guilty and tried to play it off as grief. Though, think what you want to think, but I'm voting for Quinn."

She was changing her vote from Pax to Quinn, because even though Pax was still suspicious to Vivienne, Vivienne thought it wouldn't hurt to lay some suspicion onto Quinn since the girl seemed too quiet and the crying was the most suspicious part. Hopefully, the others would think the same.

EmmaLee covered her face with her hands as Monica was revealed to be human. They had killed one of their own.... again. This was one of the hardest games she had ever played. She frowned deeply as Monica went overboard. ~I'm sorry, Monica.~ She thought. Well, they were getting closer and closer to just stumbling on a wolf, at least.

Extremely frustrated, she stomped off to go "sleep", picked a spot on the deck and closed her eyes to think. Maybe she should be writing down her notes. Lot of good her trying to sort out everyone was doing her. Everyone seemed just as suspicious and innocent as everyone else. She felt like everything hinged on if Pax was telling the truth or not.

When she opened her eyes the next "morning" it was Xailah who was ripped so shreds. She rubbed the space between her eyebrows in annoyance. Great. She admitted that she had been kind of gauging Xailah's reactions and opinions to make her own decisions. Xailah, or rather Dutchess, seemed to have one of the most level heads out of everyone on board. It seems that everyone except for Pierre has dropped any sort of character and EmmaLee had found that too confusing anyway. Maybe Xailah was on the something about Bubba and that was why she was taken out.

EmmaLee walked over to the body, as she had with the others, and examined it for clues. As she looked around, she saw a blood stained packet of papers and delicately plucked it from the body. "Hey, everyone. I found something!" She called out, opening the book. She read the contents aloud.

She sighed heavily, as much as she felt awkward about accusing any of her tentmates (said tentmates being Astrid and Bubba), this was a whole different game and situation. It wasn't personal. Maybe Xailah had been onto something. She had suspected Bubba from almost the beginning.

On top of that, it seemed that everyone had forgotten the hunter role. The person who could find out who everyone was. Maybe she was the hunter and she knew it was Bubba.

"I think Xailah was onto something. She suspected Bubba almost this entire time. I'm....going to vote Bubba." She said, just as reluctantly as she had Monica.

Pax was wrong yet again. They couldn't blame their failures purely on them, however. Many other had elected to vote off Monica. This, once again, left a large target on their back.

Then the following morning came, and with it did the body of Xailah. Pax hoped that everyone would see that they were right now, considering Xailah had been on their side.

"I protected Emma last night," they announced. "I hope you can see that I am not a wolf by now. Killing one of the people who seemed to trust me more would be a bad move on my part.

I do think that Bubba is suspicious, considering Xailah had her suspicions and now she is dead. It seems like something he would do, plus he seems to have a tendency for raging quickly. I know he has also suspected me in the past, but this is not the reason I will be voting for him. I am voting for him because of Xailah's suspicions and the observations I have made along with others on board.

Tonight, I am going to protect myself or Astrid Olsen. Again, I could be wrong about this, but her opinions seem to be strong, which could lead to her death."

After finishing their speech, Pax placed their vote before approaching Bubba.

"I don't understand what you have against me," they said loudly, making sure others heard. "But I'm not the wolf. You're probably going to vote for me again, and that's ok. But know that I am not lying, and I have not done anything against you."
