Kay had just finished her Charms class and made her way down the corridor. It was her free period and she didn't know what to do with it. Usually should hang out in the common room, but right now it would be empty, so there was no point in going up there. She also didn't feel like answering a riddle right now The corridors were also somewhat empty, only a few students passing through. She made her way over to one of the windows. The view from the castle was always beautiful. She could see some trees far way.

She took her sketchbook out of her bag. It was a sketchbook that her father had picked up from a muggle shop. As she began to sketch the beautiful landscape outside, she went into her own little world. She was completely oblivious to what was going on around her, not that there was much of anything going on. Her quill scratched on her paper, creating a satisfying noise to go along with the pretty sketch. She had always loved drawing, and this sketch was on one of the last pages of the sketchbook. All the other pages had been filled with miscellaneous sketches. Some were of flowers, some were of her friends

Angela had just finished her class and was now heading for the corridors. Even if it might sound strange the corridors was a great place to spend time. People where always going threw it even if classes weren't on which meant one thing. There was always gossip going along the hallways. Angela was one to know everyone's business, perhaps it gave her confidence realizing people had done much worse then her.

She strolled along the corridor, trying to read people like books some however harder than others. Until a girl caught her eye, the girl was by one of the windows with a sketchbook. The girl seemed to be drawing what she could see outside the window. Angela had never really payed attention too much to the outside land, however this girls drawing enticed her in.

She walked closer to the girl and gently tapped her on the shoulder. "That's amazing, I've never been much of a drawer myself but if I had your talent I would be showing everyone." She'd say with a gentle smile. Angela didn't really give out compliments it was more harsh comments however sometimes a change is good. Who knows what It can lead too?

"I'm Angela by the way." She calmly said. A good first impression is key, no matter the situation.

Kay was in her own little world while sketching the landscape outside. When she felt a tap on her shoulder accompanied by a girl complimenting her sketch, she jumped a little as her hair turned white with shock. "Oh my god!" She said quickly out of shock, before taking a deep breath. "Sorry, you scared me. Thank you though." Her hair quickly returned back to its normal light brown. She had to take a couple more deep breaths to calm her nerves.

"My name is Kay by the way." She said after she had calmed down. She handed her sketchbook over to Angela. "Feel free to flip through the pages. They're mostly just quick sketches." It was a somewhat thin sketchbook, only about a hundred pages or so. The pages themselves were also pretty thin and had an off-white color. All the sketches on the pages were either done in black ink or light pencil.

"My dad taught me how to draw. You should see some of his drawings, they're amazing." She said slightly laughing to herself. Drawing with her dad was some of her best memories before Hogwarts. When her dad was off work they would spend the afternoon drawing anything from plants to people. Kay began to smile after remembering this.

Angela smiled at the girl whilst she spoke but couldn't not notice her hair change color, she was enticed in to how that happened, it was something Angela had to know. Kay had given Angela her sketch book to look threw. She wasn't a big fan of art but even she could see these drawings were good. "well if there just quick sketches I want to know what your proper sketches look like because these are amazing." She exclaimed.

Perhaps Angela was dragging it out but if its mean's being on this girl's good side she wasn't bothered. " I've never been a big fan of art, it always seemed a bit boring for me but perhaps I was wrong, Music is more of my jam. " Angela trailed on with a polite smile on her face. When Kay mentioned her dad, it brought up memories of Angela and her dad.

She hadn't thought about her dad for a while as adjusting to Hogwarts was her main thought but as kay spoke about her dads' drawings, it reminded Angela about her dad's music that he had played for her. Thats where Angela had got it from. Her dad taught her the drums when she was young, so she had kept at it for him and herself.

Kay was flattered by the girls' compliments. She wasn't that used to receiving them. She blushed ever so slightly as she said "Thank you. My proper sketchbook is upstairs in my trunk, which has my full-on drawings." Not many people really looked at her sketchbook, so it felt good that one of the few did like her drawings. This girl seemed rather nice and Kay soon forgot about almost having a heart attack because of her.

When the girl talked about music Kay was instantly reminded of her mother. "My mother loves music! She's rather fond of this one muggle band." She remembered the chaotic days in her house, with her little siblings running around while music blares. She giggled to herself a little bit. It seemed like they had a decent amount in common.

Kay noticed the green tie that Angela was wearing. "So you're a Slytherin? That's cool. Everyone on my mother's side of my family is either in Ravenclaw or Slytherin. The two houses do have a lot in common." She said. Her mother had always assumed she would be in Slytherin because of her mischievous behavior. It might have also been because she herself was in Slytherin.

Angela listened whilst Kay spoke about her mum, she wondered what band it was, but Angela didn't think it was Important to ask. The music Angela liked was quite controversial you either hate it or love it. If people disliked the music, she loved it was for one reason and only one and that was because it was old fashioned. The iconic Queen and Beetles where Angels vibe because modern music just doesn't hit the same.

As kay talked about the houses, she couldn't help but agree. The other Ravenclaws Angela had met she had got on with well until a certain point. " I have to agree, I've only just met you however are families, and we seem to have a lot in common. It's crazy how people can be so different yet almost similar, if that makes any sense." She rambled on.

Angela had never thought of it like that, and it almost made her question somethings perhaps about herself or other people around her. Kay seemed to be verry nice to Angela even though she gave her a heart attack at the stop. It almost reassured Angela. A smile appeared on her face, it may have been Suttle, but it was there.

Kay nodded. She loved having long conversations, often about random stuff. Some people would assume that she just liked hearing the sound of her own voice, but that couldn't be further from the truth. She loved hearing the interesting stories other people would tell. She had an entire section of her memory just dedicated to the stories people have told her.

"That somehow does make sense." She laughed. I have a free period right now, I'm assuming also do? She asked Angela. I have transfiguration after this. What do you have? She hoped that they had the same classes, so she could spend more time with her new unexpected friend.

Kay had a full-blown grin on her face as the conversation continued, her eyes seemed a little bit brighter. They had a slight tint of yellow to them. This was the best time that she has had in weeks. The halls were almost completely empty, they were the only ones there. She was leaning up against the wall next to the window. The sun was at an angle so the light came straight through the window. It created shadows that danced across the floor whenever a owl carrying a letter flew by.

Angela listened to the girl, for Angela eye contact was key so her eyes followed her when she spoke. Angelas memory was terrible, and to be honest she had no clue what she next. "You know what you have next lesson? I just wing it." She laughed whilst she spoke preparation was something Angela wasn't the best at. Social skills where key to Angela, it was hard to have a full-on conversation with somebody who was seen as anti-social. However, kay was the opposite, she seemed social and almost verry happy compared to Angelas mood swings.

The friendships Angela had made so far threw Hogwarts had been a lot more ruff than this seemed to be going. She wouldn't normally speak to people out of the blue, yet it felt like it was right in that moment. "How's Hogwarts going for you Kay? It's an amazing opportunity is it not?" Angela never really thought to deep about the fact that she was verry lucky to be at Hogwarts in the first place, compared to other people. She bent down to sit next to kay as an almost comfort for her, she was there and was there to stay for the moment.

Kay noticed Angela trying to make eye contact. She liked to make eye contact with whoever she was talking to too, she just didn't know if Angela was uncomfortable with that. She made eye contact with Angela as she spoke. "I just memorized my schedule at the beginning of the year," She realized that it was still the beginning of school. "I mean the first week." She corrected herself.

"Wait, are you a second year or a first year?" Kay asked. Angela did seem a little young, but Kay had simply written that off as her just looking young, not actually being younger than her. You could say it's a great opportunity, but it's one that every witch gets." She had never thought of it as an opportunity, more of a birthright. She was born a witch, so she went to Hogwarts. Angela made her see it differently.

Kay smiled. This year has gone rather nicely, and so did last year. Though last year was quite uneventful." She laughed. She had met barely anyone last year. Her biggest concern in her first year of Hogwarts was to keep her grades up so her parents wouldn't be disappointed. She had always been a smart girl, probably the reason she ended up in Ravenclaw. Her parents had always taught her to constantly learn something new, so she ended up valuing intelligence over anything else.
